I know I’ve featured Mr. MacManus before. But, dammit, it’s Elvis flipping Costello.

Chat on, night owls!
FURST. HA.
The Gold Medal is all yours! Bite it and enjoy! 😀
Now, that’s cruel. Even to the cruella who lost all her teeth recently.
Aw, I forgot about Chips’ tooth extraction. Sorry, I haven’t been keeping up with posts today and yesterday. Just coming in at the tail end of things. Pardon my insenstivity. No dig intended there, really. Hope the healing is going well.
😆 Dudette, my family has been quite similar to TOD today:
“SHUT UP ABOUT THE TOOTH ALREADY!1!1! IT WAS ONLY A FRIGGIN’ TOOOOOOOOOOOTH!1!1”
🙄
Well, when I had a tooth removed and wanted to be left alone, everyone I know thought they’d be “helpful” by bringing me multiple (supersized) cans of chicken soup and boxes of jello. I never liked either of these substances to begin with, but now I cringe when I see them on store shelves. Even the people at the food bank where I donated that stuff said “enough already” with the chicken soup and jello!
🙂 I’ve never ever ever ever got the chicken soup thing, all it would do for me is make me super ill!!
Huh? Cruel? Isn’t that the typical tradition these days — bite on the medal?

I didn’t even notice it was already time for a Night Owl thread.
Thanks for the great music, LL! 🙂
You’re welcome, Lt. Dudette!
Alison! My favorite! Thank yoooooooou LL!!!
De rien, Queen Cheesy Poofs!
Au ⭐ for Amk, Finally 😉 Congrats
Here’s more on Rep Tierney from Mass.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/09/john-tierney-seth-moulton_n_5794642.html#comments
BOSTON (AP) — In a stunning defeat, nine-term incumbent U.S. Rep. John Tierney on Tuesday lost a bitter Democratic primary contest to political newcomer Seth Moulton in the state’s 6th Congressional District.
Tierney is the first sitting Massachusetts congressman to lose a primary since 1992, when former U.S. Rep. Marty Meehan beat then-incumbent Chester Atkins in the Democratic primary.
Moulton, a former Marine and Iraq war veteran from Salem, will face Republican Richard Tisei in the November election. He credited his win in part on voter frustration with Congress.
whatchermeanby finally?
All right folks, off to wind down. Enjoy the music. See y’all tomorrow.
G’Night LL! Have a restful evening.
bbab. all that exercising takes it out of one.
Excellent!
Also. Too. Tuna Fish.
Dote-ster! Look what you’ve done!! 😆
well, she started it. literally.
You Tuna Fish! (worst thing you can call someone?)
Also too learned today that another kid got bad report for calling bus mate Broccoli—(hurts my ears!)— and had to go to offended party’s house and apologize. Another kid was white slipped (public flogging) for telling classmate she was “not awesome”.
Lots of bad Tuna Fish type offenses going on with the kiddos.
kids do say the darnedest things/smh
What school so these children attend? Please remind me never to send any of my precious grandkiddos to such a place!
I don’t think he ever said this…
Boy, these people frost the fuck out of me, if you’ll pardon the expression!
This is what uphuck was carping about on MTP.
Apparently PBO had referred to Syrian rebels (I think) as a JV team some time in the past and ISIS was part of that umbrella group of rebels.
I could only stomach the first 8 minutes of upChuck’s interview — watched only to the “you haven’t mentioned Syria” idiocy — but he was like a dog with a bone, wouldn’t let go of that line of questioning.
Apparently AC has jumped on that bandwagon — the MSM completely miss the fact that real lives are involved in these foreign actions and that “airing our dirty laundry” could have an adverse impact on those lives in the balance. upChuck also said to PBO “was that bad intelligence or misjudgment on your part?” — RWNJs cheer, but would be outraged if a GOP Prez were asked that question.
That’s exactly what I was thinking about – “real lives are involved in these foreign actions, etc.” Everything you said! It is beyond pathetic.
I DVR’d MTP (after the suggestion to not make it appear viewers didn’t want to see the Prez) but only got through one tiny part later, when I tried to mute the weirdo then FF to the Prez. As soon as I got a glimpse of the dumbass look on upChuck’s face, I was DONE.
I wouldn’t describe uphuck’s expression as dumbass, it was more sh*t-eating.
Such an smug, unpleasant person who has the smarts of a box of rocks (was gonna say tree stump, but plants are incredibly resourceful).
Ha! I saw an expression somebody used recently, which perhaps slightly enhances your great choice:
“Dumber than a bag of rocks’ bag of rocks.”
Goodnight to you! See y’all tomorrow.
So coakley won and brown? Lol
NH Republicans must truly be more DESPERATE than I thought.
Oh, go away.
Isn’t it pretty? 🙂
Cool!

Well we know if the opposite were true, it would be blasted from every corner of the media. AP, NBC, ABC, BBC, FOX, CNN, Reuters, WaPo, CBS, Bloomberg News, C-SPIN, Marketwatch, ESPN, etc.
You are destroying me … was trying to get offline! LOVE him.
🙂
SMH
He sent out a slew of these tweets tonight, all spot on.
That WP article takes into account the first months of President Obama’s, when we know full well President Obama inherited an economy in free fall. That ALONE demonstrates that either the author is completely incompetent on economics, or he wants a certain conclusion and twists the facts in order to reach that conclusion.
Fortunately, the first comments are pushing back against the stupidity and the intellectual dishonesty.
And ANYWAY, you can’t judge a president who inherited a quasi depression (world wide) with the same parameters as other presidents who didn’t inherit a catastrophe in the making !!!
For the record, I do not put all the blame for the Great Recession on President Bush. The Banking Crisis was years in the making and was caused by de-regulation and greed. In the case of de-regulation, republican AND democratic lawmakers at fault, including Bill Clinton.
President Obama and his team have performed miracles, given the circumstances. They’ve had to find all sorts of creative ways to make the economy grow despite all the obstacles created by the republicans.
The truth: job creation would have been much more stronger if the president had been able to enact all the policies he wanted.
I hope there is a lot of pushback this week against that stupid article.
My goodness, it’s scary how the media is working hand in hand with republicans to attack President Obama UNFAIRLY, day after day after day. I’ve never seen anything like this.
I’ve never seen anything like it, either, and I agree with your every word. The only way I can calm down about it is to remind myself that President Obama knows exactly what’s going on … and, as he puts it, he still gets up every morning and works to help the American people. I don’t know how he does it, but he does it.
Yes, the repeal of Glass-Steagall allowed bankers to turn their federally insured deposits into a casino for their “investment” managers.
This is never reported by the MSM.
And yes, The Fix fixed the data (didn’t click on the link) so that the disaster that occurred on GWB’s watch was attributed to PBO.
The MSM also ignore the fact that the American landscape was changed in subtle but telling ways. Middle-class businesses folded or moved and were either replaced with discount or high-end retail/food. For me, locally, several auto showrooms closed — now there’s no Nissan dealership but there is a Rolls Royce-Bentley showroom.
This feels good!
Indeed! 🙂
Such a great photo of everyone in @EricLesser’s Twitter avatar. His baby loves the camera already at such a young age.
I really do think I’d better go to bed since I have to actually go in to work later today. 😉
Have a great Wednesday, everyone!
Good rest, vc! See you tomorrow!
TY! See you then too!
G’nite VC! Sleep tite. Don’t let Mark Knoller bite!
And of course, the Senate is holding up President Obama’s nominee for Ambassador to Senegal.
http://www.afsa.org/secondterm.aspx
As an aside, when I saw the nominee for Ambassador to Senegal, James Zumwalt, I wondered if he was related to the WWII Admiral that has a US Navy ship named after him — I’m thinking he’s Admiral Zumwalt’s nephew — Admiral Zumwalt’s brother was a high school photography teacher in James Zumwalt’s home town, which is where I grew up.
Harry is smearing the Kochs?
Moooooooorning!
