Hi Chips and TODers. Hope your tooth pain is gone today, Chips. My computer is acting arthritic today, taking long moments to lurch from one command to another. I wonder if computers become like their owners after a while. It would explain a lot. Have a good day today.

I guess I shouldn’t be laughing, but……grandson got a bad report from preschool yesterday for misconduct on the school bus—–calling one of his mates names. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the “bad” name was———wait for it——cover your ears——-Tuna Fish! 🙂

Good West Coast morning Chipsticks & TOD family.

I love how President Obama will kiss his wife anytime, anywhere. (sigh)

Hey Chips, I hope you’re feeling much improved today 🙂

    Repeat from last night:

This is sooo good, and upchuck doesn’t have the brains to realize it. His ignorant smug sh*t-eating grin (not grimace) shows he understands only sound-bites, not diplomacy or foreign policy.

    Finally, another repeat.

I totally missed HRC’s name in the list of DC luminaries to kick off #Campaign2014 (dazzled by PBO, FLOTUS and VP Biden — brain must have assumed that the fourth person was SLOTUS).

Here’s what Bobfr had to say last night:

“the message in that image should actually terrify the GOP. The raw political reality of Barack, Joe, Michelle & Hillary is non-trivial. They know the demographics of every CD in every State and those four (plus Bill) leveraging that knowledge in which of them campaigns where could be decisive in truly capturing a DEM House, keeping the Senate DEM, and converting a number of GOP Governorships (and down ticket) to DEM.

It’s going to be a very interesting ~ 7 weeks.

    Yes We Can”

    Busy day today, BBL.

I wish President Obama would call out the Senate republicans on this. In a way that would make the news. Short statement in the briefing room, without talking about anything else. Because when the president tackles more than one subject, the networks are able to choose what part “makes news”.

Or better, President Obama invites Senator Reid into the briefing room and both make a statement. That would make the news big time. And the subtext would be pretty clear: you want gridlock to end in Washington ? Get the obstructionists OUT! Vote democrat !

Iran arrests ‘Afghans and Pakistanis joining Islamic State’.

Iran says it has arrested Afghan and Pakistani citizens who were trying to join Islamic State (IS) jihadists fighting in Syria and Iraq.

Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani said the foreigners planned to cross Iran – but did not specify how many had been arrested, or where.

Shia Iran is opposed to the Sunni extremists of IS, who have undermined its allies in Iraq and Syria.

Iran is said to be prepared to work alongside the US against IS in Iraq.

Another reason why Democrats need to always vote.

    • September 9, 2014 at 8:59 am

So infuriating, NW. Just like every time over the last month one of these wahoos in Congress criticizes the President for not doing enough in Syria–I start yelling at my tv that he went to the Congress for a vote on Syria and they decided not to do anything. If only our media would ask them where they get off criticizing the President for not doing something they voted against doing.

It’s hopeless wishing our media would do their jobs.

This republican representative displays something very rare in republican ranks these days: honesty and a sense of responsibility. Kudos to him for denouncing his colleagues who are such hypocrites and cowards.

One last tweet from last night before I’m outtahere:

I know nothing about basketball or the NBA, but these comments confirm what fans have long suspected — that many owners have a plantation mentality when it comes to professional athletes. #USA — not. But as a country we seem unable to come to terms with our country’s history.

    Jovie posted this last night:

European Union member states have formally adopted new sanctions on Russia over the Ukraine crisis.

The new measures include restrictions on large Russian state-owned oil companies raising money on European financial markets.

However, the new measures will come into effect “in the next few days”, not on Tuesday as some had expected.

Her statement echoes the survival mechanisms of people who have suffered the horror of domestic violence. I wouldn’t be surprised if she penned the post so that Ray Rice wouldn’t once again take his anger out on her. I wish her well, because those I’ve seen condemning her aren’t showing up with resources to help her live and survive should she choose to leave.

Good Morning everyone…Chips, so glad to hear that your tooth is ok now…I missed the entire thing…did you have it yanked out? Cavity filled? Root canal? I’m very clueless on this as I was busy building an ark to protect from all the deluge that we got here yesterday. Some things are more important than a tooth…we had more rain than we ever had IN THE RECORDED HISTORY of the state/ city/ whatever…We had so much rain, they even cancelled school in some districts:) Hilarious…cancelled school because it’s raining too much! Not MY district, mind you…I was out in the deluge…but the wimpy school districts got to stay home:) Kidding! (sort of) Anyway…we don’t need anymore rain now…and I hope that CA gets some of that…as they’re more than a little parched. Fingers crossed.

It is really really hard to realize that something like this is not a “one-off”. Battered women are so told by their abusers that they caused him to “over react”. It seems to take years sometimes to accept that this is NOT how people behave when they love you.

Recent reforms in American health care weren’t designed with osteopathic medicine in mind. It only seems that way. …

The ACA’s Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education program, a 5-year, $230 million initiative designed to increase the number of primary care residents and dentists trained in community-based settings, also meshes well with osteopathic medicine. A number of the programs that have received grants thus far are accredited as osteopathic residency programs. …

Entirely off topic but entertaining: I had a laundry basket with clean sheets in the bedroom. It must have taken Kasper an hour to knock it over, arrange the sheets into a little cocoon outside of the basket, and then fluff up what was left in the basket so he had ‘choices’ for his naps. I caught him both outside of the basket, napping, and inside the basket, napping. I need a nanny cam to capture his activities. He’s not hyper, but he is very busy all day long – arranging and rearranging things.

I still can’t find my athletic shoe. Been looking for it for days.
