Congrats on #1, JackieG, a good spot for you, on the “official” opening of midterm campaign season!
This is going to be a nerve-racking week, with all that is going on the world and President Obama in the middle of it all, in two of the most gorgeous places on God’s green earth.
Everything I’ve read about Tallin says its the most beautiful European capital, and they have some amazing ones to choose from.
Labor Day was made perfect by Man United signing Falcao, 99ts, although it would have been nice if they tended to their defensive and midfield woes too!
Well, I now know that including any United player in my Fantasy team guarantees that he will break a leg/miss an open goal/get sent off, that kind of thing.
Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family. I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Tuesday morning. Congrats Jackie on being first this morning.
Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The Unites States of America.
Chips, I’m embarrassed to say that after all these years at TOD, I still don’t know how to find something in the archives. Yesterday I was looking for Nerdy’s Medicare post to link to our newsletter and I didn’t know how to go about it. Any clues? And it’s okay if you laugh.
Ah, do not be embarrassed Jackie, the search function on WP blogs is generally useless! It can be so hit and miss, it often doesn’t produce posts in its search that do include the keyword you use.
Any way, if you go down to the Search box, near the bottom of the sidebar on the right, and type in Medicare, this comes up:
I’m a couple of years late sure, but wonder if Pres O will give me a blessing too if I line up? (Chips can verify for me that I may be a bit late but I am relatively reliable – right Chips?)
Yes and no. š I’m not home yet but I’m currently lazing in the hotel bed, psyching myself up for the drive ahead. I have a few hours before I have to check out and the plan was to sleep late so that I would be well-rested. Since I woke up, I’m substituting a jaunt in the village as my extra preparation. š
LH, this is an interesting read and I do like the fact that the president understands the wants and needs of the American people and doesn’t just bluster and stomp around the world to satisfy somebody’s idea of what it means to have macho cred. I get so sick of the GOP cum media crap about the ‘ideal America’ being one at constant war.
That’s part of my excuse for the delay – to avoid the RH traffic. Must say though that on my way in it seemed like drivers on this side didn’t realize that rush hour wasn’t meant to be all day. š
Quite unbelievable that the media continues to beat the drums of war for the GOP – I seem to remember the direct media attacks against anyone who didn’t support GWB and those non existant WMDs
Well honestly, 99ts, I don’t know of anyone in the US who wants a war, wishes their own children to go to war or wants the consequent drain on the budget. This is all GOP/media fantasy to stir up vague dissatisfaction again the president and gin up the lucrative war machine.
I would think similar could be said of the people of Russia and Israel!
I will never understand why becoming a politician seems to send some folks down the path of war. I have an old history book of my Father’s entitled “the history of England” – written c. 1866 – covering from about 900AD – the wars were never ending – the history of our world is one long war – yet EVERY person I know does not want war.
I fear what may happen when PBO is no longer in charge
All the strategies from McCain, Hillary, Bush, etc. calling for arming one side or another got us in this mess but no one calls them on it. If we had armed ISIS, for example, we would be in deep doo doo now but people still buy what they are selling. It makes me crazy.
As Bill Maher has said (paraphrasing) about criticism of PBO foreign policy — What would you do DIFFERENTLY from President Obama on (fill in the blank)? And please be SPECIFIC. How many hosts/pundits even bother to ask this simple follow-up question when hearing the endless criticism of every move PBO makes.
Aside from the partisan politics, more and more I feel like the GOP (and some Democrats) Foreign Policy challenges and the calls to war is about how much money is being lost for me and mine.
10 stars to those tweets! So maddening to hear the media chirp inane GOP talking points daily. Just heard Peter Alexander on Today say PBO’s critics describe his foreign policy as “in free fall”. Not an ounce of intellect or honest assessment in evidence. Sickening.
All eyes will be on The President of the United States at this week’s NATO Summit.
This is a fact. It has not changed now that our President is not Caucasian.
Europe is on the brink of war, yet MSM don’t understand they are undermining our President with these comments, just so they can be part of the story?
Sickening — I think I closed my eyes to the pervasive bigotry by the white elite, but their actions now leave no question. I find it hard to believe that the MSM would be so dismissive of the President if he were white.
Posted yesterday — the media has the same access to overseas news, but they refuse to inform themselves.
I should have said: Europe is on the brink of war with a madmad with nukes, and would drag the US into its conflict because of Article 5 of the NATO agreement.
Orwell appears to be right. Is the MSM actually cheerleading for WWIII? Does the fact that this is the 100th anniversary of WWI mean NOTHING to them?
West coast? Are you trying to confuse those of us who are geography challenged, or are you preparing your mind for your end-of-vacation-return-to-work routine?
Morning vc!
I’m still in East Coast country for today. Tomorrow morning, I’m West Coast bound.
I’ve had a most wonderful time with family here and I’ve covered
quite a bit of the state of Georgia. From Atlanta to Carrollton to Rome Georgia. I’ve put some miles on the rental car š
Open carry white guys trying to educate a Black woman on violence? Hahahahahahahahahaha. As though Black women know nothing of violence in this country?
Irony just let out a loud guffaw at their arrogance and stupidity.
Yet some people think and say racism only resides in the Republican party. Be it North, South, East, West; in all the 50 states it’s not hard to find whites who may have a D behind their name or vote Democratic yet still have prejudice against African-Americans.
The Democratic party is lucky to still have African-Americans (especially women) showing up at the polls for them and most times saving the white Democratic candidate. Example: Terry McAuliffe in Virginia.

You know how they call the NY Times The Gray Lady???
Never made sense to me until today.
They mean a female elephant, apparently.
Todays Front Page news is that Chris Christie is boning up on foreign policy prior to his 2016 presidential run.!?!?!?!?
Tomorrow I expect to hear Christie call PBO’s health and fitness routine “weak” and announce that Chris Christie’s Exercise and Healthful Diet Guide will be published in the Spring.
PBO’s Labor Day Address in Milwaukee made it to NYT on page 12.
Well said Vicki – Christie’s foreign policy will have about the same level as expertise as Palin’s – hope he can pronounce some of those foreign names.
And I should have added – PBO has never had to “bone up” on foreign policy – he has lived it all his life –
what really scares me about most GOP Presidents and pretenders – they don’t appear to have the basic knowledge of the world that most of us gained through our general education – we joke about Palin calling Africa a country – but learning the continents of our world is about grade 3 geography – and too many in the GOP know little outside of the USA, yet think they have the skill set to lead America!
Help, please, all BTs and technical talents! I’m trying to download the photo at right of the president with his phone and the Vote 2014, but I can’t do it. Can anyone tell me how
So where is Eric Cantor now? No wonder that have little interest in #Wethepeople other than at voting time!
//……………………………
As Politico says:
First elected in 2000, Cantor was seen as a major ally for Wall Street on Capitol Hill. He was a top recipient from the private equity and investment industry during 2013 and 2014, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
In its statement, Moelis & Co. praised Cantorās work, including his efforts to lower taxes and āeliminate excessive regulation.ā
As of 2010, the House Majority Leader makes $193,400 annually, so Cantor is now making more than seventeen times as much money as he was making in Congress.
Morning, Chips and early birds.
Goooooood morning Jackie!!
Congrats on #1, JackieG, a good spot for you, on the “official” opening of midterm campaign season!

Good morning and congrats on first JackieG.
Hi!
Moooooooorning Linda!!
gm jackie & linda – congrats on gold and silver
Good evening Australia!
gm Ms Chips – hope everyone enjoyed labor day
Labor Day was made perfect by Man United signing Falcao, 99ts, although it would have been nice if they tended to their defensive and midfield woes too!
I have difficulty with following ManU – I think if I don’t watch/listen – they might do better!
Well, I now know that including any United player in my Fantasy team guarantees that he will break a leg/miss an open goal/get sent off, that kind of thing.
This too will pass š
Hello? It’s lonely here.
Hi Global and 99. Looks like we’ve got the makings of a koffee klatch. How are things in your world?
Another Spring day in my world – supposed to be chilly again tomorrow.
On the political front – our PM is seriously clueless. PBO will have to “be polite” when here in November.
Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family. I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Tuesday morning. Congrats Jackie on being first this morning.
Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The Unites States of America.
Mooooooooorning RanMan, happy Tuesday!

Is the post you need in that list?
Yes, yes, yes! Thank you. That really is an obscure tool. I don’t feel so bad now. Have a great day.
š You’re welcome!!
MooOooornnnNing/Evveeeenning Folks! Quite a group already gathered here this overcast Tuesday!
Howdy-do, Ms Chips? And DannyO-stix whom I haven’t seen hide or hair of in an entire week, or so it seems?
I’m a couple of years late sure, but wonder if Pres O will give me a blessing too if I line up? (Chips can verify for me that I may be a bit late but I am relatively reliable – right Chips?)
VC, are you still on the road?
Morning JackieG!
Yes and no. š I’m not home yet but I’m currently lazing in the hotel bed, psyching myself up for the drive ahead. I have a few hours before I have to check out and the plan was to sleep late so that I would be well-rested. Since I woke up, I’m substituting a jaunt in the village as my extra preparation. š
Good luck, VC. All my good thoughts will be with you. Let us know when you arrive safely.
Thank you, JackieG; I really will need, and joyfully accept, all positive vibes, and of course, I’ll report in as soon as I can.
G’morning Chips & TOD! Happy Tuesday everyone š

Good morning folks at TOD
Morning vetivera24!
Thanks Chips. Wishing everyone a great week. PBO is on the move. Looking forward to his trip.
Morning Alma.b! You heading to bed, or waking up?
Waking up. Are you home safe yet?
Not yet, Alma.b. Heading for the ‘autoroute’ in a couple of hours – putting it off for now under the guise that I’m resting. š š
Still early. Weather’s good! Have a bon petite dĆ©jeuner, then hit the road. Rush hour traffic sucks anyway.
That’s part of my excuse for the delay – to avoid the RH traffic. Must say though that on my way in it seemed like drivers on this side didn’t realize that rush hour wasn’t meant to be all day. š
Hear ya. Was there last Nov and it was chaos tout de jour
Exactement! š
Lh, of course, in the US, the media is an arm of the GOP. Except for a rare few, they don’t think outside of Republican talking points.
Quite unbelievable that the media continues to beat the drums of war for the GOP – I seem to remember the direct media attacks against anyone who didn’t support GWB and those non existant WMDs

I am 100% behind these sentiments, LadyH….
No he’s not VC!! That was another guy, a ‘Bill’ I think. (Edited your comment!)
Thanks a lot! For a minute or two I wondered. I had really liked ‘his’ comments before I found out. Hope you deleted me, CC.
THANKS, CC! ( Now I can retweet with a clear conscience – so happy you were around.)
10 stars to those tweets! So maddening to hear the media chirp inane GOP talking points daily. Just heard Peter Alexander on Today say PBO’s critics describe his foreign policy as “in free fall”. Not an ounce of intellect or honest assessment in evidence. Sickening.
Exactly, dotster.

Thanks for posting, rikyrah.
This sounds like a classic scam, yet Matt Pearce is the only MSMer on top of the story?
“A related Facebook page has been deleting comments from those who raise questions about the accountability of the donations.”
Looks like a scam, sounds like a scam – what else can it be.
Scam or no scam, that’s an awful lot of money donated to support a killer of an unarmed teenager. I hope they got ripped off.
I’m sure they got ripped off – whether the money gets to the killer or not. “Fools and their money are soon parted”
Good West Coast morning Chipsticks & TOD family!
