Nena, Sen. Feinstein and Sen. McCain need to buy a bus and take a long, long, long trip together and just yell at each other throughout the trip. No matter how soft her voice maybe, I always feel that she is yelling like hell at the president, and I am so offended by her nonsense.

It pains my heart to see that senators like Diane Feinstein still have not the appreciation, respect, and commonsense of a fine statesman. PBO. The young people are tired of the noise that she and the likes of McCain are still making regarding how this president is doing his job. And please do not even get me started on Mrs. Greenspan and Meet the Piss. My pain meds are working. Thank the heavens. HZ

Why does McCain get no pushback from the MSM (rhetorical question, I know, but these people should hang their heads in shame).

When was the last time you remember the MSM doubting a President as much as our beloved President, the only person in politics who could have done as much as he did in 2009? I think even the white elites were concerned about how the financial meltdown would affect them personally.

CBS radio news broadcast McCain’s (expensive and not-thinking-of-the-consequences) Face The Nation nonsense this morning.

Candy Crowley finally answered that last week……partially with half truths……McCain answers their questions……

Well of course McCain does……he furnishes the Media with fatuous inconsistent diatribes…..knowing that the Media would rather have him on attacking this president, than making use that McCain is held accountable to his various Flip Flops. To question McCain is to not be able to book the old, reliable bumbling stupid bitter McCain.

Merkel’s & European dithering needs to stop. Kyiv needs to be provided as much military assistance (not troops, but heavy arms, air power, intelligence, etc) ASAP. Putin is not stopping in his quest to capture as much real estate as possible.

Watch Putin in a coupla months when the demand for heating fuel goes up. Things are gonna be off the chain.

      • August 31, 2014 at 12:42 pm

As President Poroshenko stated yesterday, sailor, if Putin doesn’t stop now, concerns about being cold this winter will not be at the top of the list. This is as serious a confrontation as any in my entire life, and I was born before the Korean War started.

Hide and watch Lootenant. It’s near critical mass. Putin as already projected his IMAGE.
When folks show you who they are, believe it; not what they say.

        • August 31, 2014 at 1:22 pm

“The latest ultimatum came after Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko personally told the 28 presidents and PMs at a summit in Brussels on Saturday (30 August) that he is a hair’s breadth away from “full-scale war” with his neighbour.

The summit conclusions corroborated his claim that last week saw an open “aggression by Russian armed forces on Ukrainian soil”.”

I agree with almost everything in Michel Cohen’s insightful essay, with one exception – Eastern Ukraine. President Obama’s response, to the extent we know what he has done/is doing, is appropriately nuanced given the exceptionally dangerous situation Putin has created. That said, war is war and it’s been a WAR in Eastern Ukraine since Feb. War is by its very nature, chaotic. Chaotic and nuclear are not a good combination.

Putin has to be stopped. In my truly humble (and in no way, ‘telling PBO what to do’) opinion, the only reasonable ‘peace preserving’ (on a global scale) actions must include providing massive military assistance (not troops) to Ukraine, and sanctioning RU banks so that they are unable to borrow and otherwise operate in the global financial system.

These black pastors in Chgo are making me furious—–endorsing Durbin’s Repub opponent, Oberweis, a perennial candidate for anything/everything——because as we all know Repubs are just great in respecting and responding to the needs and interests of the African American communities. They are being tricked—-and are leading their congregations astray—–trying to help usher in Repub rule in Illinois.

It’s these type of Democrats that angers me. The Dems constantly send emails for donations to hold the Senate then go on national TV to discredit our President. While I truly want a Congress to help the President, I’m just not sure they will. Don’t get me started on Mrs. Greenspan. She takes every opportunity she can to try and discredit PBO and I’m sick of her as well. MTP this morning was totally one sided with a couple of exceptions who pretty much were limited in what they were allowed to contribute to the one sided conversation.

SheInFrance commented that was a “very offensive to us and an extremely racist comment made by the English” at the end of the last thread.

Worked with a guy from Montana, and a friend of his joked that was where “men were men, and sheep were nervous.”

Just a joke, no one is suggesting that this is true. No doubt there are similar jokes about New Zealand, where sheep outnumber people, IIRC.

It is maddening how often the National Media ignores the basic FACT that ISIS/ISIL as they came back to Iraq…..Iraqi Sunnis REFUSED to fight them and simply shaded their Uniforms, blended in with the population, some joined them and most left their weapons unattended and walked away. Those are the Facts.

A 17K ISIS/ISIL is easily defeated by US or even a Turkish army…….so for the US media to go on and willfully distort and misrepresent matters in order to attack the Obama presidency is truly treasonous.

    • August 31, 2014 at 1:48 pm

      Agree with you, Nena!

One slight modification – no one who knows any history would want to go to war against Turkey. If unleashed on ISIL/ISIS, they would eliminate them in days.

SheInFrance: I hope I didn’t offend you with the Montana joke — it amused me when I heard it, and Montana was and is one of my all-time favorite states.

So many youngun’s are named Dylan — probably ranks up there with Brian and Joshua as most popular US boys’ names 30 or so years ago. And of course, Bob Dylan’s name of choice.

And Yet Today……many in US is unaware of this simple Geographic Fact. Also, the African Continent has 54 nations. Note that Saudi Arabia and all the nations sounding the Horn of Africa are Neither Called Asia or assigned to any other Continent.

It used to be that a Continent has a large landmass surrounded by large sea or Ocean……But those who made and drew the Atlas….World map, thought different and coined Europe as it’s own Continent. I have often wondered why UK, Ireland, Indonesia, Japan to certain extent, etc were not treated as Australia….a Continent by her own right?

It is funny how Russia is now called Europe by some……..oh well….those who made the rules?

You would think that after five plus years of kicking ass and taking names that President Obama would be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the Middle East. It is almost like bin laden and Khadafy aren’t dead, Syria is still threating to use chemical weapons, and we still have one hundred thousand American soldiers in Iraq surging and purging.
