AP rarely reports “positive” news for the administration that is not true….

This is HUGE. Once again, the DOJ working quietly to right wrongs where it MATTERS.

I just posted at the bottom of the last thread so I am bringing it over.
Good afternoon TODville, Chips, NW, and all bts. Before I go back to read all the days happening I have to catch you up on all that is going on in Montana. First the exciting news that last night in Missoula, MT, a town of 70,000 Paul McCartney played to a crowd of over 25,000 in our Football Stadium. We couldn’t afford to go but we live 2 miles from the Stadium, sat out on our porch drinking gin & tonics and listen to the show. It was loud. All those who went had a great time. Love it when the big names come to the smaller venues.

The next news is about our Democratic Senate candidate John Walsh. All the rumors are he will be quitting the campaign, with the ongoing scandal of his papers at War College. Now they are talking about who might replace him. Two names come up that I am very excited about and I would work for either on. The first is Nancy Keenan, she was our Superintendent of Education and then went on the be the head of NARAL. She is very well known and loved in this state. The other name is Denise Juneau, the current Superintendent of Education. Denise is also part Indian.

Hopefully this will be decided shortly because Steve Daines has lots of money and the backing of the Koch brothers, I do hope this is settled quickly because I hate Daines with a passion, but I haven’t been able to support Walsh, something about him just didn’t set with me. This is going to be a very tough race. We’ll see what happens. We have some many tea partiers here.

What is this “ish” business? Has Chips taken over presidential scheduling? 🙄

This POTUS has a way of just keeping the Crumbling, Fumbling, Stumbling DC/NY lazy, lame and partisan pundits struggling and contradicting themselves 24/7.

These people were once saying that POTUS was seen too much. Then it was, he’s aloof and isn’t making any friends. Then it became, well, he is avoiding WHPC and is going to others that would not ask him harder questions. Then it became that this POTUS is no longer being listened to. He is done. Irrelevant. The Country has tuned him out.

This POTUS takes all their malarkey. He brushes off their Hate, Cynicism, Distortions, even their racism and Keeps on reaching FORWARD!

I am Darn PROUD of President Barack Hussein Obama and his Team.

  31. August 6, 2014 at 6:33 pm

a historic Conference,,,,and not one question about the conference itself….that says it all

    • 73 Vicki
      August 6, 2014 at 6:34 pm

It does. The only topic of interest to the WHPC is to discuss what they hope will injure the President.
PBO was expecting this, don’t you think?

      • 74 dotster3
        August 6, 2014 at 6:39 pm

Yes—-they never ask about the subject at hand—-always ask what they consider gotcha questions. They never make a dent, though—-PBO can handle it all—brilliantly, as always. Makes them MAD!

      • August 6, 2014 at 6:44 pm

It took an African Journalist to ask a real question …and not trying to “gotcha” the President

Can’t see an upside if one such as I wanted to know about the summit. Even PBO looked miffed and a bit hurried through his remarks because he knew the stench he was about to approach with that ignorant bunch of hate.

        August 6, 2014 at 7:21 pm

Yes, he did edp4bho. Did you see the look on his face as he was existing the stage? Said it all. But one thing I do know about President Barack Obama: he will move on and still get the message out.

These dried up old pale men and women will be totally dried up like prunes, when, and if they see these same great young leaders who came to DC and participated in the entire African Summit go back and rise up and be greater leaders all over the continent of Africa and the world.

Shame on these ugly disrespectful media BSters.HZ

Re: The press conference starting late…

He’s the President of the United States. We wait for him.

The man has the entire world on his shoulder. Stuff happens, sometimes when it’s inconvenient. Either something came up that required his immediate attention or his team needed some time to get him some info. That’s the nature of his job. Let the him do his thing. He’s earned that.

    • 92 Dudette
      August 6, 2014 at 7:28 pm

Also, because it was later, there’s a strong likelihood that way more eyes were watching than would’ve been if it had started right at 5PM. All good in my book!

Scams, scams and more scams. Last week I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft customer service saying they had been receiving error messages from my computer. It was obvious they just wanted access to the computer. I hung up on them (after telling them that I am not as stupid as they think even if I am over 65). Then a made a note on Microsoft’s web site with the phone number the call came from. Interestingly, it was a number registered to US Cellular but not in service at this time.

Now, I just received a call from some saying they were calling from the Federal Grants Department in DC saying I would receive $8,400 tax free with no repayment. I told them there is no such department and they just hung up. Obviously, they wanted my SSN.

With all due respect to amk, it was also obvious where the calls originated from.

Zizi, I’m convinced current US Media are doomed to run BEHIND history! They have displayed no curiosity of mind, no awareness that ‘change’ is happening, no aptitude to ever be good reporting stewards of the very world in which they live. They are woefully consistent, but that doesn’t change the fact that I was disappointed at today’s performance. Without any justification whatsoever, I thought because they were technically today’s media host, they would have shown some token respect to their guests. After all, an entire continent was visiting! Sigh!

The art and professionalism that is Journalism in USA is dying.

What we have today doesn’t resemble what I was used to as a child.

Had Nixon been POTUS today…..the WHPC would have ignored Watergate. Bridgegate would have sunk any Dem Gov. USA media with exception of a few, cuddled Christie and made every excuse for him that they NEVER make for most Dems.

Christie will Never be POTUS. But the Media is still willing to whitewash his Bio.

meta, did you catch the (accurate) threat? POTUS warned that if the gates aren’t opened to “opportunity” then the conflict will re-ignite?
And next time with improved technology developed in Gaza itself, don’t count on rockets that kill nobody? Or that almost hit Ben-Gurion Airport.

Thank you, Rep. Bass from Cali. for your observations and the guts to speak out on them concerning the questions about this presser.
This was a time for these sorry arse WHPC people to show some respect to this president and the leadership of this president on this great African Summit.

Hatefulness will cause one to miss the mark every time when one dwells in the halls of hatred for President Barack Obama. President Obama was the larger person there today, and the world saw that as well. Believe me. Now what will (they, we do about it)? I can and will only speak for myself. I know what my commitment is and will continue to be to the hardest working, president Ever. I want to be on the side of history that does great things everyday for the betterment of people. That is the side I want to be on when I take my last breath.

And may I please say: “I am truly grateful to Chips for this space. And I want to say loudly, thank you so much Chips for All that you do along with all of the contributors here at TOD.”HZ

    August 6, 2014 at 7:13 pm

The difference between the press corps’ questions and the president’s response is telling. Their questions were superficial and designed to catch the president off-guard, while his answers were thoughtful, detailed, nuanced, and conveyed the complexity of the issues at hand.

    • 129 vcprezofan2
      August 6, 2014 at 7:22 pm

Recoop, if those idiots are still designing questions ‘to catch the president off-guard’ they are bigger fools and more delusional than I for one figured they are. Plus there is really nothing novel about their questions – their design is stale, overused and horribly transparent.

“Two hurricanes are heading toward Hawaii”

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2014/08/06/two-hurricanes-are-heading-toward-hawaii/
    ——-
A pair of hurricanes are currently heading toward Hawaii, threatening the islands with gobs of rain and gigantic waves. Hurricane Iselle is a Category 1 storm, but the storm is weakening and it is expected to become a tropical storm later on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service….Hurricane Julio, also a Category 1 storm as of Wednesday, is currently expected to pass north of the Hawaiian islands early next week, though that could change.

    =========
Prayer for the safety of those in the hurricanes’ path and that there is minimal damage to property.
