Hi, Pf, how are you doing? Is the Wolf campaign up and active in your area?

      • July 23, 2014 at 7:50 am

GM Jackie…they have a Philadelphia office in South Philly….near Tasker and Morris….I signed up to Volunteer….I have not visited the office there….next week will be my first visit….I have not seen evidence of Wolf in my neighborhood…I will learn more when I go to the office…

but I have been in contact with my State Rep about doing voter Registration….we will see where that leads
….for a first timer in office…he has done a lot of service outreach in the community…I have not seen Voter Registration as his focus…I hope I can urge him to do that

We have a Wolf rep coming to our county, which is very unusual for such a small red area. A lot of times you can set up your own registration. There are some local Dem friendly businesses who don’t mind your setting up a card table outside for registrations. We’ve done that at the local movie theater and in front of some businesses. You remember that incredible Georgia woman in 2008 who put herself in the most most crowded places with registration forms and ended up with 1000 new voters. We get the list of new voters every month and I wrote a pamphlet welcoming them that we then send out (rotate the stamp buying among a bunch of us.) If you do this stuff with good people (friends, family), it can actually be fun.

The US doesn’t declassify info bc it gives up assets either we have on the ground or in the sky watching.
God damn republicans and ducking media that wants this declassified now, knows this…
So why the rush to declassify?
Because they want to sabotage any efforts to make obama look bad.
This is yet another example of how we not only are fighting a problem, but are fighting republicans and the media every step of the way.
    It’s incredible.

            July 23, 2014 at 1:20 pm

No, he was a bad boy: A friend stopped over and he was over-excited and loud. Okay, not a big deal. When she was leaving, he bit the back of her leg! Bit her!

I know it’s not aggression – it’s a symptom of his uncontrolled excitement. Mr. 57, who is ‘responsible’ for him, better be on the computer today looking for trainers and places to have him socialized by a professional.

            • July 23, 2014 at 1:25 pm

Uh oh!!!! I’m having similar problems with my boy at the moment 57, he should be completely socialized by now, spends lots of time in human company, but still goes BONKERS when a visitor arrives, and jumps all over them. Grr.

              • 35 57andfemale
                July 23, 2014 at 3:24 pm

My friend gets it – she has two dogs. One just won’t stop the ‘mouthing’ that could lead to biting, or be perceived as biting. Her second dog barks at the next door neighbor as if he’s new, every single time he says hi to him, or pets him. It’s maddening.

Mr. 57 watches all the dog training shows but doesn’t pay attention: the worst thing you can do it yell at an excited dog, which only escalates the excitement. Pair that with Kasper’s innate stubbornness and we’re not going to accomplish anything. We need to deal with this problem.

            July 23, 2014 at 1:21 pm

My friend is fine. She has dogs, she gets it. But someday he’s going to pull this stunt on a stranger and Animal Control is going to haul him away. Unacceptable.

Morning all. Glad to see you smiling this morning, Chips, and hope you and Danny are doing well. I had to step back last night to take a breather from all the Gaza killings and the endless GOP stunts. Today it’s full steam ahead on all our voter registration/ event planning work. It takes endless organizing to pull off a big Fiesta Latina, from designing and printing marketing materials, to organizing food, games, prizes, music, dance contest, cleanup crews, candidate information, etc, etc. etc. Took time to organize a ‘to do’ list and it almost floored me. Meanwhile the county fair starts this Saturday with lots of registration opportunities. My job is to make our booth look attractive and draw visitors. That means posters, handouts, patriotic bunting, yard signs, and lots and lots of candy!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

      July 23, 2014 at 8:34 am

Hi jackie – is this the event you do each year – I find you so amazingly wonderful that you take on the task of explaining reality and getting everyone to register to vote. (I did initially read your patriotic bunting as “patriotic burning” and wondered what would be in the fire!)

      • 42 jackiegrumbacher
        July 23, 2014 at 8:53 am

Well patriotic burning would sure be attention getting, if illegal in the convention hall. Husband and I usually do the set up for the county fair, because I think it’s important for Dems to look as good as possible and put our best foot forward. This August will be our third annual Fiesta Latina and its gets bigger every years. The work is pretty much endless until it’s all over.

It seems amazing that we have been on TOD for so long – I was remembering the first time you spoke of Fiesta Latina & it seems to be getting bigger every year. Wishing you much success this time around.

        • July 23, 2014 at 9:47 am

I remember when you were doing your first one! BRAVA on your success and to you for continuing to create a lively and engaging event for the Latino community to GOTV. I’m sure it’s very much appreciated.

are the same things we are dealing with and fighting for NOW.

Yes, we’ve had some progress but a lot of the problems – race, class, wars – have not all truly been resolved.

So true Jackie, some will always make a difference, and President Obama is an example of what “some” can represent and do for many. I look back over the years, and remember how far we have come as country but how far we have left to go.

Kindness is free when we give it freely, and hate is a choice, I pray for the day that all of humanity will choose love over hate.

  14. July 23, 2014 at 8:22 am

    GM, TODville.

    Congrats, PF58, on #1.

This article is from Peter Baker, so ignore the negative spin.

    From the article:
President Obama said last week “We live in a complex world and at a challenging time,” after making a statement in which he addressed Ukraine, Gaza, Iran and Afghanistan, all in the space of seven minutes. “And none of these challenges lend themselves to quick or easy solutions.”

    • 77 Vicki
      July 23, 2014 at 8:38 am

Peter Baker owns the NY Times these days, front page and more.
Jeff Zeleny used to cover The President and I usually felt that Jeff genuinely admired PBO. That must have been the problem in NYTimes eyes.
Jeff Zeleny now covers tangential matters, leaving POTUS to the cold unfriendly gaze of Peter Baker.

      • July 23, 2014 at 8:48 am

Didn’t Zeleny move to ABC news?

And yes, agree about his reporting, which didn’t attack the President regardless of the subject.

        • 79 Vicki
          July 23, 2014 at 8:59 am

Maybe, for a while he was writing unimportant pieces for NYT. ABC news would be a good move if you’ve seen him there.
I never watch ABC, or CBS or NBC news so if you’ve seen him you know better. I have spotted Jeff in the Briefing Room not in front row, however.

  15. July 23, 2014 at 8:38 am

I don’t usually go to Politico for news, since they specialize in gossip (which has infected and spread throughout DC MSM), but I’ve been out of the loop on Kingston vs. Perdue for Georgia in US Senate.

Is Perdue a tea partier? Was race-baiting a factor in this GOP primary contest? Sorry to be so ignorant. 😦

    From the Politico article:
“Georgia’s next in line as a national battleground state,” [Jason] Carter [Dem Gubernatorial candidate] said during a break at a campaign stop last week. “If you look at sheer numbers, people can dispute whether it’s red or blue, but everybody knows where it’s headed.”

Jack Kingston seemed like the crazier teabaggier one to me, but I am not sure about this.

        Morning Vicki,
Just read the article, I say; anything is possible. I don’t think, moving forward, that any party should take a vote for granted because things are changing and people are more involved politically. I would love to see a “blue” Georgia.

What bothers me, it appears that hope is fading for Wendy Davis in Texas, are people giving up on her?

      • 83 Dudette
        July 23, 2014 at 9:56 am

Shorter: Kingston = Santorum; Perdue = Romney; GA GOP preferred their poison with the smell of money.

Michelle Nunn should be Perdue handily if Dems get out and VOTE.
