Chips and vetivera, hi back you two.
What I logged on to say got sidelined by my “first.” Get so excited I lose my head.

My intention was to comment on the great success PBO and the US has gotten in Iran.
The talks went so smoothly that they will be resumed in a few months.
Meanwhile some monetary restricions on Iran are lifted so they are happy.
Nuclear develoment has been Stopped and as far as nuclear weapons go—-from what i understand (not much) the USA has had complete victory in eliminating threats.

Because this is Such Good News For President Obama it has gotten little to no coverage by the once-again outsmarted doomster media.

Yes, I’ve never seen a President working so hard and maintaining this pace throughout his presidency. I remember one President who was on vacation all the time, in Camp David and Texas. Ah, that president should have been a painter and the world would be a better place right now. What a gifted hand for those dog portraits!

57, if she and others like him vote against him, I really don’t care what their motivate is. The primaries are over in Kentucky. If you’re a Republican and you can’t stand McConnell, you either vote for Allison or you don’t vote. You could try writing someone in, but in any case, we win.

            July 21, 2014 at 4:16 pm

They are still motivated voters. You don’t see a large ‘disillusionment’ movement that translates to not voting. These bastards vote, at reliable, impressive numbers.

Your point about the primaries being over is well-taken. That being said, they hate Dems more than they hate the likes of McConnell, and they are spiteful. I sincerely hope you’re right, and this woman said that she would not vote. We’ll see. I’m skeptical.

Sue, Mike Wallace operated in a time when most of his colleagues were highly qualified professional journalists who actually did their jobs according to the highest standards. He was always aggressive, but there were certain limits he wouldn’t pass, unlike today’s journalists-in-name only who are actually propagandists.

      3 hospitals attacked, now this

Both sides in this conflict have now stated what their goals are.
Gaza wants the siege lifted. Gates opened, electricity and water restored.

Israel wants the missle bombardment to stop. (They also want to prevent Al Jazeera from covering the conflict.)

Both sides are intent on meeting their goal and denying the opponent any victory.

Someone please tell me how a cease-fire is acheived.

I don’t know, Vicki, but if there is a way THIS administration will find it. We were all told for years that the only solution to the Iran nuclear buildup was a war with Iran, but President Obama wouldn’t accept that. I know he will persevere and eventually he will find the answer.

If they vetoed, that would really tell the tale. However, backing it and allowing it are two different things. If they really support a true investigation, they will tell their surrogates to back off and hand over everything that has been carted away from the site.

Correct, John. And, that has not happened yet, for sure. Various groups of Russian led thugs continue to impede investigation at the site. Only positive action at this point is the reported transfer of the planes ‘black boxes’ to Malaysian officials. Whether those recording devices have been tampered remains to be determined.

The problem is this, yes Israel has a right to defend itself but it has only killed less than 75 Hamas militants.
Hamas knew this also, that’s why they did it. They want all out war as does Israel.

Sorry again for repeating myself, Jovie, but Hamas the apparatus, didn’t start this event. Netanyahu and Co knew this. The killings of 3 Israeli teens by an unknown group started this and Netanyahu used that to inflict this crisis.

    Whoa

During Monday’s Ronan Farrow Daily, MSNBC guest Rula Jebreal criticized MSNBC, its sibling NBC News, and other news outlets for vastly over-presenting the Israeli side of the Israel-Hamas conflict. “We are ridiculous,” she said, meaning the media. “We are disgustingly biased when it comes to this issue.”

“Look at how much airtime Netanyahu and his folks have on air on a daily basis,” she said, naming Farrow lead-in Andrea Mitchell in particular. “I never see one Palestinian being interviewed on these same issues.”

Farrow objected that NBC had other voices on. “Maybe for thirty seconds, and then you have twenty-five minutes for Bibi Netanyahu,” she responded.

A luxury condo building on New York City’s Upper West Side has gotten clearance from the city to have a separate entrance, or a “poor door,” for low-income tenants, according to the New York Post.

Extell, which is building the 33-story complex, will build a specific door for the 55 affordable housing units it’s including in order to be allowed to build a bigger building. The low-income units, which are available to people making 60 percent of median income or less, will also be in a segment that only contains affordable apartments and that faces the street while the luxury apartments will face the river.

    Disgusting-Jim Crow in NYC ?

This is city-wide, Linda. In older buildings where tenants live in rent-regulated apartments in which the landlord adds “amenities” such as gyms and childrens playrooms the older tenants are barred from them.

In my development which is full of fiesty tenants our landlord sought to bar us from his tiny barely equipped “fitness facility.” The tenants threatened civil rights actions which was a bad idea and a miserable failure.
The landlord set a membership price that was considerably higher than full-service gyms in our neighborhood.
      Result???
Older tenants pretty much shut out and the newer tenants paying high market rates probably got rebates or other off-the-books givebacks to make up for the new cost.

I am glad she avoided prosecution—–not the answer. BUT—–I have lost patience with people leaving kids in cars—–there is never a reason good enough to leave a child in a car—–none, zero. I always think there is always another alternative—–a friend, relative, a neighbor—-watch my kid for this 45 minutes and I’ll watch yours when needed. There have been way too many tragedies this summer, just senseless deaths from this inexcusable behavior. When my kids were little, a nearby Presbyterian church sponsored a “Moms Day Out” every Tues.—–free child care provided by a combo of church ladies and early childhood students from the jr. college, snack contributions voluntary. Moms would take advantage and schedule appts. etc. on that day. Maybe more communities need to realize this need and do the same.

According to Ayman Moyheldin during the 4 week war of 2008, 6 Israeli soldiers were killed. 1,000 Palestinians perished.
So far in 4 days, 25 Israeli soldiers have died. I regret every death. But I see that the tunnel surprise that Hamas prepared has been effective.

Israeli soldiers deaths hit every Israeli family since all citizens must serve.
These horrible military deaths, if not the soaring Palestinian losses, may help get a cease-fire discussion started.
