My sleep pattern is out of whack.
It will take me a week to get it back to normal.
I am hoping it will take them two years to come back. I almost felt sorry for them last night when we got home at 3:00 am. It was this crazy uncle who kept saying, “The City that never sleeps” kept me pumped up. He was snoring as soon as we got in the car.
Now, I got to wake them up…….they may want to go to a hotel to get rid of me.LOL!
I really love them, but I stay in a hotel whenever I visit them to give them space. They never take the hint.
First, I felt quite proud of my fitness level BECAUSE I knew all the terms you used and could conjure up a mental picture of each! Isn’t that great? ๐ ๐
Also, too, why wake them up? I say fine tune your strategy. After a hectic day like you mentioned, let them sleep for as long as they want, and when they awaken just say that since they were tired you decided to let them rest. You get a break, and so do they. One day of intense activity; next day everyone chills; another day of intensity, etc. etc. I do believe some people are impervious to hints. ๐

Good morning TOD family. I am in love with HOPE!
Hi ya, Ms. Chips!
Four hours of sleep and I am rested…….I just don’t get it.
Eight hours and I crawl back in bed.
The body is fearfully and wonderfully made.
I will probably crash at 2:00 on the ground of a BBQ.
So glad the men are master grillers. ( yeah, ALL of them)

Holy smokes LDS, rested after only four hours sleep? I would be as grumpy as Amk.
I hope your BBQ will be more successful than mine is likely to be – I bought a BBQ online this week, and it arrived yesterday in 56,352 pieces. After my first attempt to assemble it, it looked like a question mark – so I have to start again. ๐ฆ
My goodness!
I thought that was a new bike.
If I had to put that together we would definitely be in CosCo buying roasted chicken and BBQ sauce.
Everyone would get their own brush, of course. That looks like a lot of work!!
I have a business card for a most enterprising young man who “puts together those things you buy that come in pieces”. He is in great demand! I first met up with him when a furniture shop assured me some chairs would arrive looking like chairs – silly me believed them – however they sent said young man (at their expense) to turn a box full of wood into said chairs. He left me his business card as well as some beautiful chairs.
I tried to assemble a huge quilting design wall – 6-ft square, held taught by a series of rods. It took up most of my living room floor. I would JUST get it square and Kasper would JUMP in the middle of it, loving the sensation of all the rods crumbling so he could scrunch it all into a crumpled ball. Then Nickelby thought that would be fun, too. And Pearl thought it was a riot to hide under it and then roll herself up in it. Then the boys wondered what that moving little ball was and they’d pounce. A true Comedy of Errors.
Mr. Dotster is now on hour 4 of trying to assemble a small personal trampoline I ordered online for my little grandson (who arrives soon to spend the night). He is not happy with me AT ALL. I had no idea there would be millions of parts with 3 pages of directions. (See Fig. C, Sec. 7) Thought you would just take it out of the box, unfold some legs and voila! This is a bad morning here—-I’m trying to hide–kids are still talking about how it took him 3 days to hook up a VCR. Now he’s showing me the next step—-Step 17—–says it requires 2 people—–ay yi yi—–weaving and tightening a bungee cord, or something. This is terrible. I think I’ll try praising him. About how wonderfully handy he is. How I remember how expertly he changed a lightbulb that one time—–like it was just nothing!
I’m in tears Dotster, literal tears. My heart goes out to Mr Dotster, although I’m pretty damn jealous that he’s on to Step 17 – I, seriously, haven’t got past Step 1 yet. When he’s finished with the trampoline could you send him over to me please?
Morning all. My computer has the bounces today. It jumps from program to program like it’s playing leap frog. Started a reply and it scooted off to another site. Either I woke it up too early or it needs a tranquilizer. Weird way to start a day! Hope you all have a good one.

I was listening to Boehnerโs rant about not giving the President a blank check and when is he going to take responsibility for anythingโฆeven though we know the President asked for a specific amount and identified how these amounts would be used. [I wonder how long he stood in front of the mirror to practice that. It seemed like he was waiting for the opportunity to play out that piece of drama.]
It made me wonder how often funding requests have been made by the administration and various departments that were denied by Congress โ typically under the guise of reducing government spending. How often some crisis arises where the GOP does their photo-ops expressing their faux indignation and try to place blame on the President; yet, when the onion is peeled, it is often a situation where the crisis could have been averted if Congress had approved the funding requests [or acted on some legislation].
Boehner is working hard at hating on PBO to retain his job – even if the republicans retain the house – too many will vote against him – so I find it sad he won’t spend his last few months in the job doing something for the benefit of his country. History will not treat this man kindly.
It’s sad that the GOP is so concerned that President Obama may get credit for anything good….anything that actually helps people other than those who don’t need help….anything that will be good for the country. The reason they can’t offer any alternative solutions is because their solutions would be no different and definitely no better than what the President has presented.
There is a lack of compassion and care in those who refuse to extend a helping hand to people in need. Given the success of so much of the President’s actions, the attacks from the media are even more difficult to understand than those from the GOP. Sad is the only description that comes to mind.
I’ve often heard that charity begins at home. The lack of charity that we extend to our own who are in need makes it not so far fetched how those who want to take refuge here are being treated smh/[heavy sigh]
I wasn’t even thinking of the immigrant children when I wrote that – I was thinking of states not expanding medicaid & the GOP wanting to deny people health care with their 50 repeal attempts. In my world the government wants to force a copay on every visit to a GP (which currently does not exist for those on low incomes).
I am hopeful that folks may vote the GOP out in November – they are doing so much harm.
“…I was thinking of states not expanding medicaid & the GOP wanting to deny people health care with their 50 repeal attempts…”
That goes to my comment on the lack of charity at home. I guess for the GOP, there is a literal definition of “home” because there seems to be a lot of charity being extended to them and theirs.
Republican Jobs Bills Won’t Actually Create Jobs, Say Economists
By Erin Mershon (07/24/2012)
————————————-
But there’s a problem with their jobs bills: They don’t create jobs. At least, they won’t any time soon.
In interviews conducted by The Huffington Post with five economists, most said the GOP jobs package would have no meaningful impact on job creation in the near term. Some said it was not likely to do much in the long term, either.
“A lot of these things are laughable in terms of a jobs plan that would produce noticeable improvements across the country in the availability of employment in the next four or five years,” said Gary Burtless, a senior economist at Brookings. “Even in the long run, if they have any effect all, it would be extremely marginal, relative to the jobs deficit we currently have.”
.
.
Ultimately, each economist was clear on one point: The GOP package is far more political than practical.
Good morning all. Poking in here to say hello. I’m sooo far behind in my TOD reading, but I’m trying. Now that summer’s here, the yard beckons all the time. Was enjoying the latest album of photos that Pete Souza posted to flickr. I try not to read the comments that people post to him on twitter, but sometimes I just can’t help myself. Most are fine, but I noticed that someone (presumably a photographer) is squawking about ‘access’ again. Dear lord, there hasn’t been an administration that has shared so much via countless social media websites, etc, and often in real-time as well, especially with twitter. There are so many sites out there, it’s impossible to keep up with them. So, somebody please fill me in. Is all the squawking about access simply sour grapes, envy, seething jealousy?? ๐ I seriously don’t see their point at all.
LOL, but what a way to ensure that you’ll never be hired for the job (of staff photog for instance). The media already does a fine job (yes, that’s sarcasm!) of misrepresenting everything the President and his administration does, so in my view, the less access the better!
Another case of nit-pick…they’re talking about access to *taking pictures*!!! Heck, half the time it’s hard to hear what’s going on with all the cameras clicking!
Of course, it wasn’t as big of a deal when GWB was blatantly selective in giving media access.
I’m recalling that very sombre occasion when the President and First Lady were lighting candles and observing a moment of silence in memory of the Sandy Hook victims, and all one could hear was the clicking of countless cameras. And in other news clips here and there, I’ve often noticed a massive crush of photographers around. Exactly how many do they think are required? But many of the squawkers, in typical conspiracy-mongering fashion, are implying that we’re somehow not getting a true or unbiased view of the President – because *they* aren’t being allowed to take photos. That’s just so daft! So, other than them being bat-sh*t crazy, I do think it can only be sour grapes or seething jealousy. There, I’ve answered my own question. ๐
If *they* behaved as real journalists and not as biased shills who wouldn’t know a fact if it slapped them in the face, maybe they would have more access…not to mention that people might take them seriously.
That photo is SO mine, Nerdy!!! ๐ Thank you sooooo much Legend for all the beautiful posts yesterday, I went out for 5 minutes and got home 15 hours later. Ish.
Remember you are not alone. Last time we had water pouring through the ceiling lights after big storm I rang my neighborhood electrician. He suggested I turn off the power – why didn’t I think of that!
Fact of my life – I am not a handy person, I cannot understand do-it-yourself instructions, nor do I mow lawns or change tires on a car. I do watch and give large quantities of thanks to those who do such things for me.
Unlike my neighbor (male), however, I do know how to turn off the power at the mains box – I just forget that this is what you do when water is pouring through the lights!
Good morning TOD.
Bill Maher was great last night.
In his New Rules segment he made the point that other countries take in refugees from their nearby countries and treat them graciously. Bill specifically mentioned Jordan and Lebanon as we have been discussing here.
Then he called out our country as the meanest stupidest people on earth.
The RW nutjob Reim Salam had to sit there and take it as Bill repudiated every talking pont the self-riteous non-stop talker had delivered during the program.
Bill is catching on. No more coddling the toddlers. Use their obvious mental deficiencies against them
Let’s be quietly optimistic,hf. I’m terrified of getting my hopes up.
This isn’t just about Iran. Peace with Iran takes away one of Israel’s most hyped-up phony threats. Bibi will have to adjust to a new world that sees his threats and excuses more clearly. That day cannot come soon enough for me.
“When will it end?” – When enough politicians have their children shot by friends or maniacs to realize there is a major problem.
I have always called car “accidents” car “crashes” – because they are not accidents – they are avoidable. There are also no gun “accidents”. The word is used to take away blame from the person who did the wrong thing.
There is a war on drugs where people are prosecuted for the smallest misdemeanor yet gun shootings, and in my world car crashes, are often not prosecuted because “accident”.
(From the link, the victim was 12 – not 2, or according to the heading (great editing), the victim was !2)
There is regrettably a group on facebook called Responsible Gun Owner of the Day – which posts news items pertaining to injuries and deaths due to extremely irresponsible gun owners. It’s a bit hard to stomach as it comes across as a little flippant, but the truly awful aspect is the frequency with which these totally avoidable incidents (not accidents) happen. Several news stories like the one you’ve shared are posted there every day. It is so disheartening. ๐ฆ
The end of Bill mahers show is called New Rules where Bill comments on the weeks events, uninterrupted.
Last night, as I wrote above he was livid about the refugee children.
Another segment was about Zombie Lies. Specifically the Big Lies about the ACA which live on even after they have been disproved—“Like a plastic bag in a tree.”
I don’t know if it is legal to post the closing part of his show last night on TOD. But if it is OK I hope one of the BT will deem it worthy and share it with our group. Group? village? consortium? .
!!!!

If *they* behaved as real journalists and not as biased shills who wouldn’t know a fact if it slapped them in the face, maybe they would have more access…not to mention that people might take them seriously.
Totally agree. The other problem is there’s still too many people who believe everything those biased shills write or say.
“…problem is thereโs still too many people who believe everything those biased shills write or say”
So true keltuc, and that is unfortunate and also why *they* still think they can control the message and dictate how people should think.
I just continue to have hope that that number is dwindling and/or there are more people than *they* think who do not take what they say as gospel.
Chipsticks? Stop being a cheater. You are not legitimately first.
Congratulations to Swbluega, Roberta In MN, and LDS on first. Here’s your prize.
That photo is SO mine, Nerdy!!! ๐ Thank you sooooo much Legend for all the beautiful posts yesterday, I went out for 5 minutes and got home 15 hours later. Ish.
THANK YOU NW!!! ๐ For the recognition and the picture.
You get the gold cup for “Morally First” swbluega. ๐
๐
chips at home.
๐ You are pure evulllllllll!!
But you are not denying it.
Well, I’m not blonde, so I can totally deny that bit. ๐
Mooooorning Japa!
Remember you are not alone. Last time we had water pouring through the ceiling lights after big storm I rang my neighborhood electrician. He suggested I turn off the power – why didn’t I think of that!
(99ts, hush – don’t give Japa and Amk any more ammunition)
Fact of my life – I am not a handy person, I cannot understand do-it-yourself instructions, nor do I mow lawns or change tires on a car. I do watch and give large quantities of thanks to those who do such things for me.
Unlike my neighbor (male), however, I do know how to turn off the power at the mains box – I just forget that this is what you do when water is pouring through the lights!
Oh my….I’m not saying anything…just walking right on by….
Use their obvious mental deficiencies against them
I’m looking forward to hearing some positive news next weekend from SOS Kerry. The deadline is Sunday July 20th. ๐
Howdy Do, Family! ๐
Good Morning Neighbor! Have a FANTASTIC day!
morning everyone!
Hey Linda! Hope you are well and having a smashing good day! ๐
thanks a lot !
I hope today is a great day for you too and all of us;
My President was the first person I thought of when I saw this…
Happy Saturday TODers!!
Heeeya Chips!!
Happy Saturday Africa!
I didn’t need the imagery in this tweet as the first thing I read this morning – but it made me smile;
๐
this is what we have come to as a nation
Good gracious, when will it end?
Group? village? consortium? .
R&S!
