Hello HopeFruit2, I got a few hours to binge read TOD and post some. I wanted to say thank you for the way you welcome newcomers aboard TOD, it is heartwarming. Have been meaning to say that for awhile.
That is a great move to make, Chips. Rest, and a good nap will be good for my Danny and me. I made a promise to my doctor and brother to get the naps in during the day. So my Danny and I will be get our rest so we can be ready for our next adventure. HZ
HAPPY BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY TO YOU jacquelineoboomer!
GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE : )
I do hope that you will have a MAGNIFICENT DAY and weekend, filled with an overflow of enjoyment, laughter, sunshine and some EXTRA blessings – ENJOY it all !!!
Hello Chips, finally got caught up reading all the great posts for the past 2 days! Thanks to you and Nerdy for all the wonderful posts, and the great contributors!
Thanks for your explanation for “fill your boots”. I have a favor to ask of you; since Danny is into chasing Fox, could you send him over to Fox (News)? I wouldn’t miss their disappearance 🙂
Sadly, per one COSMOS show, Romans or was it the Greeks eventually died out as a thriving society centuries ago…..why, they allowed the predominant usage of Lead even after discovering it’s devastation to humans……
I see USA allowing Guns and our willful ignorance……some do reference guns as Lead pieces…….this blind obsession will be a huge contribution to our demise if corrective actions are not taken and soon.
Have a lovely weekend, TOD villagers! Register a voter or two if you can. Farmers markets are good places as well as Bruno Mars concerts and the like! I’m with you, LL. Dancing is good for body and soul.
We have a wonderful group here in Missoula, called Forward Montana and they are everywhere, just returned from Farmers Market and they were all over. I do have hope for MT. Thank you for all you do.
…..bbbbut PBO has a problem with diversity he doesn’t like wimins because he doesn’t golf with them or promote them….right faux pundits on teevee? While the MSM put pretty blonds on prime time and minorities on the weekend.
There used to be basic journalistic standards and even if the line was wide, there were instances that were obviously over that line, regardless of where the blame fell. See or read ‘Shattered Glass’. That has evaporated: in the highest levels of journalism, agenda trumps truth, and therefore journalism and the Free Press disintegrate. Judith Miller? Out there spouting lies, no consequences. GG and the Pulitzer? That GG got past the smell test is astounding.
Glad to see that sometimes the centuries of journalistic integrity might rise above the fray.
Agreed 1001%. Only people to cure their malaise is if MSM polices itself and call out their incompetence and their distortions. Same is true with the GOP conundrum.
I just can’t do Bill Maher, I remember on episode he was complaining about President Obama not kissing his ring after he donated one million dollars to reelection campaign. Trust me, a guy like bill is not worth the hassle, President should have gave that guy his money back and told him thanks but no thanks. Maher is high maintenance.
Don, Bill is off-message sometimes and I agree with Nena that there was no lie by PBO, but the mistakes he makes are not about negativity or being a diva—he is a comedian not a writer for a “prestige” newspaper. He doesn’t claim to know everything.
His heart is 100% in the right place. He was ribbing David Axelrod about refusing to come on his show until Axe left the WH.
The million dollar check was Genius at the moment he showed up with it giant sized on his show and warned America to pay attention and get the win in 2012.
As far as I know he was the first and maybe only white guy to correctly identify in public the hostility to The President. PBO’s black skin.
He does a better job of slamming down Repub talking points To Their Faces than anyone I know.
Now, comedy is individual. You may not find him funny.
But Bill Maher is a ray of truth in a landscape of TV lies.
1k jobs or more will be lost. Trump would now claim: You see, my 4 Bankruptcies could have happened to any one?
One thing for sure…..Fluffy Christie is Toast nationally.
All these guys want something for nothing. I’m just stunned that Trump’s name got mixed up in some bankruptcy nonsense. Christie and Trump, if these guys owned a funeral home nobody would die.
I’ve never understood the concept of a consolation game; I mean that’s like taking a shot to the nads with a beach ball rather than a baseball. But at the end of the day, it’s still a shot to the nads.
With a reputation for arrogance and illusions of European-styled grandeur, Argentines have long been the objects of scorn and the butt of jokes across Latin America
Jose Mourinho’s exclusive World Cup analysis
But for at least 90 minutes on Sunday, when Argentina takes on Germany in the World Cup final, most Latin Americans will put aside their irritation with their proud neighbors as they look to Lionel Messi and his teammates to salvage what’s left of the region’s soccer pride.
Cheer up LL; I hear Jeremy Lin is in route as we speak. I mean he’s another guy at the end of the bench that Kobe will be able throw his jockstrap at in utter frustration.
I just read that. Why do you think I was wailing in despair? Pretty much the Lakers have already thrown in the towel for this season by trading for Lin just so that they could have cap space for NEXT summer’s free agent class. Thank goodness Dish Network doesn’t carry Time Warner Sports and charge me $4 a month for the privilege.
Let’s face it LL; the Lakers should have been more proactive in trying to add quality pieces instead of paying a 36 year old Kobe Bryant bad knees and all a multi million dollar contract that will keep the Lakers hands tied long after Kobe is gone.
I completely agree. I think they got pressure from Time Warner to keep Kobe on the payroll after the billions TW ponied up to start the Lakers network. Insanity.
Always glad to hear your prospects on the Lakers. I grew up watch, Jerry West, He is my all time favorite. Went to many games in my college years. Don’t follow them as much nowadays, but Lakers are still my team.
I was thinking about this just this morning after reading the great news on the deficit….and my thoughts proved to be true. Dems are better stewards of the economy and the Republicans spend the money the Dems SAVE…on corporate giveaways! America..WAKE THE FUCK UP!! IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK YOUR FRAGILE EGOS TO ADMIT THAT YOU’VE BEEN LIED TO ALL THESE YEARS AND YOU’VE BEEN WRONG TO VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS???
Two budget stories are intersecting in a fascinating way that once again puts the lie to Republican claims of fiscal restraint.
First off, this year represents the smallest budget deficit since 2008:
The White House said Friday that the federal budget deficit will fall to $583 billion this year, the smallest deficit of President Obama’s tenure and the first to dip below $600 billion since the Great Recession took hold in 2008.
On the other side, the Republican House just voted for an inexcusable $287 billion supply-side corporate tax giveaway:
The GOP-led House of Representatives embraced a former stimulus measure Friday, voting to make it and another related tax cut permanent, adding $287 billion to the deficit over the next 10 years.
So I guess a political platform that was built on being anti-minorities, anti-women, anti-science, and anti-gay rights isn’t a good thing after all, who knew?
You’re kidding me?
You cheat like Robben.
😯
I’m claiming 1st for the next 2 threads. So that takes care of the cheating for a while….
Hello HopeFruit2, I got a few hours to binge read TOD and post some. I wanted to say thank you for the way you welcome newcomers aboard TOD, it is heartwarming. Have been meaning to say that for awhile.
Thanks Esi, and welcome to TOD!!! Hope you enjoy your reading session –
No, does that mean it is yes for a swimming day for my Danny? Granny is thinking good thoughts for you. HZ
🙂 No swimming today HZ, he had a completely exhausting day yesterday, barely had a nap, so he’s catching up today!
That is a great move to make, Chips. Rest, and a good nap will be good for my Danny and me. I made a promise to my doctor and brother to get the naps in during the day. So my Danny and I will be get our rest so we can be ready for our next adventure. HZ
🙂 You and Danny will be fired up and ready to go again, HZ!
CONGRATS Chipsticks on 1st!
You are going to come under fire, put the “CRASH HELMET” on : )
ENJOY YOUR DAY!
You too Cindy!
Thank you for posting this “BEAUTIFUL” picture of President Obama holding this precious baby.
It looks like he is preparing to say a blessing over Sean – how precious, he has a gentleness with kids.
I thought the same thing about the “blessing over Sean”! Beautiful pic. Happy Saturday to you, Cindy – and Chips and the TODgang!

THANK YOU, Cindy!!!!!!! Right back atcha!
Congrats on 1st, Chips. Someday you must give us your secret. Ha!
Ah, thanks Jacqueline – a happy Saturday to ya! 🙂
Yeh, I dunno HOW she does it. It’s amazing. 🙄
I see you, geek.
It’s magic.
Ha.
Hello Chips and TOD.
Afternoon BFF!
Hello Chips, finally got caught up reading all the great posts for the past 2 days! Thanks to you and Nerdy for all the wonderful posts, and the great contributors!

Ha, if Danny could gobble that particular Fox, Esi, I would let him eat everyone of my socks!

Very good comment.
I don’t care what anyone says: I like Bruno Mars. His music is catchy.
Time to dance!
I’ve tried my best to get into Bruno Mars, I mean he’s very talented but I just……I mean he’s a nice looking guy, fit, strong, hippsterish. But……..meh
He definitely is the sum of his influences. But he recycles those influences pretty well.
Have a lovely weekend, TOD villagers! Register a voter or two if you can. Farmers markets are good places as well as Bruno Mars concerts and the like! I’m with you, LL. Dancing is good for body and soul.

Coincidence, but the posts remind me of lipsticks. 🙂

Vicki wrote about this two threads back. I am not in agreement with the one ‘lie’ BMaher attributed to POTUS. The rest, he was spot on.
I just can’t do Bill Maher, I remember on episode he was complaining about President Obama not kissing his ring after he donated one million dollars to reelection campaign. Yep…..
So, who’s going to watch the Sad Panda match today between Netherlands and Brazil?
Me! Even though it has as much point as …… help me out here LL, I need a simile.
Robert’s Rules of Order at a Tea Party convention?
😆 That’ll do nicely!!!!!
😀 😀 😀
And Jose agrees with you: http://sports.yahoo.com/video/mourinho-third-place-game-unnecessary-234247358.html
Worst of all, it’s delaying the start of the Dutch Revolution at Old Trafford.
How is anyone going to keep score, I mean Germany pretty much scored all the goals for the next three World Cups’.
It’ll be 0-0 and go to penalty kicks. Because neither team gives a rat’s ass about 3rd place.
Or it could be 12-11 because neither could be arsed defending?
Either a boring, tiki taka game, or a glorified testimonial match.
I’ve never understood the concept of a consolation game; I mean that’s like taking a shot to the nads with a beach ball rather than a baseball. But at the end of the day, it’s still a shot to the nads.
My guess, it was modeled after the Olympics.
As ABBA sang: The Winner takes it All.
Then Queen sang: We are The Champions.
Me. I’m pulling for Brazil

I’m completely torn Japa, much prefer Germany as a team, but would love to see Messi lift the cup.
Me Two 😉 Japa
Ugh, reading about the woeful off-season moves being made by my Lakers. Guess it’ll be another year avoiding basketball.
😎 ❤ 🙂
This tickled my funny bones 😉
Love that! 😀
So love that video. I sent it to my friends who have a dog that looks like this one.
Worthwhile ….

Is it next summer or the following summer that Kevin Durant might be available? I think Durant might break the bank, more so than James.
2016

Ha!
LOL…nice!
A RWNJ just left a decidedly nasty comment about PBO – IN ALL CAPS1!1! – which is now in spam.
Out of curiosity, I Googled her email address.
She’s the agent for ……. a Dolly Parton Impersonator.
I seriously can’t stop laughing.
Ooooohhh, off to go read it!
What’s her name? I bet her Twitter TL is a hoot! Please let me have the satisfaction of blocking her.
Don’t know her Twitter name, Dudette – but here she is: http://www.manta.com/c/mtk0s6r/marilyn-monroe-dolly-parton-impersonator
Thanks for putting up with all of that Chips. You are so appreciated!!!!!!!
Ah, not a problem Marilyn, when you find out they work for Dolly Parton impersonators, you cannot but smile 🙂
Those are the ones that make it okay to really laugh at.
