Truths Do Not Cease To Exist Because They Are Ignored

POTUS Chair

Carolyn:

Also remember how that picture became one of the biggest jokes and travesties of his term. Maybe a short term positive, but after a month, people knew that was a lie. Part of his downfall later, I think.

****

Cindy:

Happy Friday Carolyn,
I am so convinced that the main reason, the repukes and MSM want a picture of President Obama at the border, is to place it next to Bush “real” Katrina moment (Bush in plane looking down on those who were suffering), and run with some eye catching headline;

Bush/Obama Katrina moment and they both did nothing.

Of course they would photoshop the picture by inserting crying babies and mothers at the border with the President standing there.

They want to redeem Bush by comparing the President to him; hoping that a picture of President Obama at the border would destroy him.
“AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN” and they are losing their minds because they can’t manipulate him to do it.

Lovepolitics2008:

“They want to redeem Bush”… THIS.

There’s no question that republicans are never able to deal with not being in power. The minute a democrat ascends to the Oval Office, they begin the campaign to destroy him. Democrats, who are more mature politically, and are not authoritarians, don’t do the same.

But in the case of Barack Obama, we’ve seen the resentment and the hate reach new levels. Race is a factor of course. But another one is that republicans have been SO HUMILIATED by the Bush presidency, they want Bush’s successor to be humiliated to. To leave office with approval numbers as low as Bush’s numbers were. Just so they can comfort themselves in the fact that it’s not just republican presidents who can be rejected by the population.

I’ll go further. I wonder if unconsciously, the pundit class wants the same thing. Let me explain…

They’re so obsessed by the political game, they seem to be totally uninterested by policies and their effects on the american people. They have big salaries and don’t need any help; they absolutely don’t CARE about what happens to people. So the fact that Barack Obama is working to help people DOESN’T IMPRESS them at all. The fact that Barack Obama is working to repair the damage of the Bush years DOESN’T IMPRESS them at all. Since they don’t care, the integrity, empathy, hard work of this president doesn’t generate in them positive sentiments. They judge him, SOLELY, on the way he plays the political game and on the way he interacts with them, the “media stars”. They would like him if he was friendly towards them, if he flattered their egos, if he made them feel important.

So the media class doesn’t like the president. And since they want interesting “narratives”, since they’re entertained by watching a politician’s numbers go up and down, I can’t help feel that deep down inside, they wish they’ll be able to tell the story of a rock-star politician who ascended to the Presidency after an historical, exciting campaign… but left office with as low approval numbers as his republican predecessor.

(And of course, let’s not forget JEALOUSY. They don’t want to feel inferior to this very brilliant president who is , on top of everything, a better WRITER than all of them.)

Cindy:

You nailed it Lovepolitics2008,

The other side to this ugliness, the raw side of this hate; truth be told – to have a “black man” running this country has rocked their world.

What they are operating from, is the premise of; “Let’s put this N______ in his place.” Nothing else would spew this kind of hatred, than an African American rising to the “TOP.” That is why we have continually heard the words; uppity, arrogant, who does he think he is, cocky etc.

Their behavior reminds me of the scene from Malcolm X, when Malcolm and the people were waiting outside of the hospital, after the police had beaten a black man. When they received word that he was going to live, the Police Chief said; this is too much power for one man to have.

They lost their ruling power to President Obama – so sue him to put him in his place. HA!

Kudos to LovePolitics and Cindy for exposing the underbelly of the beast. The GOP and their media arm will keep on trying to destroy this president–they will never stop hating him or trying to disparage his astonishing achievements, but they will fail. Not only have they exposed themselves in all their blatant bigotry, but they have underestimated, once again the strength, intelligence and fearlessness that is Barack Obama. When you do not know who you’re fighting, you cannot win. They are outclassed and outmaneuvered and they can’t see it.

    Lovepolitics2008 great post…..
The press was also complicit in the Cheering 24/7 to the run to the Iraq war.
They also impose their bigotry of Lower and twisted unattainable Higher expectations on pres Obama. This leads to unfair blame, unfair coverage, double, triple standard assigned to president Obama, comparisons that are of the same contrast, Sole concentration and obsession of negative story while dismissive of any wrong by the GOPers/opposition no matter how egregious or injurious to the public at large.
    For Example
Rev Wright. Religion. Birtherism. Assigning Scandals where Never materialized……Fast and Furious. Solyndra. IRA. Benghazi. BP. Etc.

    http://www.thepeoplesview.net/main/2014/7/9/sarah-palin-targets-moocher-brown-people-in-screed-calling-for-impeachment

Beneath all the false rhetoric about debt, deficit, government control and everything else, there has always been one, and only one, reason for the existence of the Tea Party: race. What has often been lost, however, is that it is not simply Barack Obama’s race that has driven the Tea Party nuts (although it certainly has), it’s the ethnic makeup of the diverse coalition Obama was able to build twice to decimate the two great white horses (essentially literally) that the Republican party put up against him.

  21. July 11, 2014 at 5:57 pm

Thank you, NW for posting these enlightening comments from Carolyn, Cindy, LovePolitics2008.

So much truth here. All these comments hit the nail on the head, but LovePolitics2008 distilled the essence of WHY the MSM is in bed with the GOP.

Its pretty apparent that jealousy is a factor these (mostly white elite males) “journalists” got to where they are by being the smartest (quippiest, fastest, whatever) guy in the room, and resent the fact that President Obama is at least 5 moves ahead of them.

But what burns the most is what LovePolitics2008 said: a President who is “a better WRITER than all of them.”

Wish there was some way to require that all of worst offenders (David “GOP Shill” Gregory, upChuck “I flip people off on camera” Todd, Jon “Benghazi” Karl, Jake “the Snake” Tapper and Mark “the President is a dick” Halperin) respond to these comments.

You go, TOD, and kudos to NW for posting!

Can Congress Impeach an Attorney General??

“At least, that is, when it comes to targeting the president. National Review’s Joel Gehrke published a piece yesterday noting that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and several House Republicans are “building a case for impeaching Attorney General Eric Holder,” and by some measures, they’re “getting more traction with that idea than impeaching the president himself.”

WOW!!!! I have been packing for my trip, came back to TOD, and NW…..guess what I found…..this beautiful front page. Thank you for front paging these important analyses!!! Also LOVE your caption: “Truths do not cease to exist because they are ignored”. Powerful. Love the juxtaposition of JFK’s quote, MLK’s, and the pictures. You are a literary and graphic gem.

I said I was packing. I will be away for about eleven days. I’m taking a trip with my sister…..actually, she and I are going along with her husband’s choir on a tour to Prague, Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. I will see some wonderful places and get to be with my sister. She lives in California, so our times together are rare, and as we are now past the three score and ten mark, we want to make precious memories together. My husband isn’t going. His heart condition which is well monitored and regulated by his pacemaker, makes him too uncomfortable to attempt a European trip. He said the absolutely worst part are the airports. So, he will be here with our precious little poodle, and be happy and well!

Taking a break from my day off to share this with my fellow Californians.

Just wanted you to know that our ballot initiative to lower health insurance premiums is now Proposition 45. It’s been a long time coming but price-gouged policyholders will finally have their day on November 4.

Last week we delivered your health insurance rate hike horror stories to legislative hearings on Prop 45 and the California Nurses Association held a rally on the steps of the capitol to speak up for patients.

We captured some of the moving moments in this short clip. Please watch and share this video with friends.

At the rally and hearings in the state capitol, we made the point that Californians recently faced $250 million in rate hikes that state regulators found to be “unreasonable” but could not stop. Prop 45 will give us the power to stop them.

How will Prop 45 lower health insurance premiums? Prop 45 requires health insurance companies to open their books and publicly justify rate hikes, under penalty of perjury, before they can raise premiums for 5.8 million individual consumers and small business owners.

YesOn45.org is a resource for all of you who want to help pass Prop 45. In the coming days we will have more news and opportunities. Below are some clips from the Sacramento events. Together we can win.

We know what we have to do. #FORWARD!

I wonder were are the decent Republicans? All of them are not Tea Party folks. Where are the ones who will stand up and say yes I disagree with this President on just about everything, but there comes a time when we have to reach across the idle to solve a crisis and this is that time when Democrats and Republicans must sit down and work together to get this crisis solve. Is there any Republicans with the guts to do that? I think I know the answer to that. There isn’t any to stand up because most if not all of the Republicans are just like the Tea KKK Party.

    • July 11, 2014 at 8:34 pm

There are Republicans that say Democrats and Republicans must sit down and work together it’s the media and the teabaggers who are preventing the sane republicans from doing the right thing. They have to work in lock step or get a primary replacement. I heard this caller say he was glad that the Republicans were “slowing” down the president. The radio host asked why he did not complain about GWB’s signing statements or starting two wars or his tax cuts for the wealthy etc. He claimed he did not know Bush did more signing statements. I call BULL. It is not the first time that I have heard a Republican say it was OK they did not enact many bills and maybe they should just not work the rest of the year until after the election. I asked what about taking care of the countries business? There are a lot republicans that are OK with the behavior of their party representatives as long as it does not affect them personally….they would only blame PBO anyway.

I’m really starting to love this man. He has a deep well of compassion and common sense. BRAVO.

        Meta, did you say “starting”?
I would vote for him in a heartbeat. This man has character and he cares.
HRC never had my vote because she is a woman. That is just NOT enough to win my vote and the though of her husband in the WH makes me sick all over again.
        How is everyone Friday going?
I am going back to catch up. I spent the whole day in mid-town NYC with friends visiting. I am worn out. They have had enough and ready to go back home. I have so much more planned for them to see. They will not be back for a long while. I just need a nap and shower and then I am ready to go. They think that we are in for tonight. They are so wrong……after the sun goes down we have a dinner party on the roof. Bless their hearts…..then we are up early for a scenic ride up the Hudson River to a friend’s home for a BBQ.
        Have a great weekend everyone!
I love our President and First Lady pic sharing the podium.
They still touch, kiss, show affection in public. It warms my heart to see that respect and love.

I hope he runs for President! I would definitely support him over Hillary Clinton.
