Here is a lighthearted story of a girl in Dublin who calls a demolition company to come destroy her school. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Xx7tPqmEwg

      Good Thursday to you Mr.Bobfr.

This is the image that tells us all; what this country will look like, and be like, if the repukes ever take the Presidency again.

They are just waiting and preparing. Hate is a driving force for those who hate themselves, and it’s rotten to the core, and ugly to the bone.

Mr 99 had a slightly political comment this am (rather rare for him)

“Give a man a gun – and he will shoot someone”

“Your response to humanitarian crisis of women & children is profoundly EVIL”

Very well said, Bob! These two (Perry and Hannity) are truly some the most evil people in the world. They need to be reminded that there is nothing macho, or glamorous, about the two cowardly dudes, staging a photo-op while brandishing an assault weapon. I hope that the Virginia legislature, under Gov. Rick Perry and his side-kick, Sean Hannity, want to see more women and children (who refuse buy into GOP hypocrisy) gunned down or being violently deported?

Bringing this over for anyone who is interested.

Arapaho and anyone else interested in the VW/works council story: Seems Corker is eyeing a bill permitting companies to create labor boards or employee-involvement programs giving workers more of a voice in workplace issues. Haslam and Corker are both “singing a different tune” now about union or work councils or something they can work out to give workers a place at the table. WHY? Because they are in “fruitful discussions” with VW about getting the SUV at the Chattanooga facility. Reading between the lines, I’m guessing VW has told them there’s not a chance in h— to get it if there’s not something worked out for the employees to have some voice. Every other VW plant in the world has the works council so common sense tells me that VW wants ‘something’ here or they will take their business somewhere else. I could be way wrong, but not the way the article in the paper reads.

Well this is interesting……….and they lay it all on Congress!

AMERICAN citizens are paying 535 people to take care of the legislative needs of the country. We are getting shortchanged. Here’s an example: On June 10, an incumbent congressman in Virginia lost a primary election in which his opponent garnered only 36,105 votes. Immediately, many Washington legislators threw up their hands and declared that this one event would produce paralysis in the United States Congress for at least five months. In particular, they are telling us that immigration reform — long overdue — is now hopeless.

    Americans deserve better than this…….

….A Congress that does nothing about these problems is extending an irrational policy by default; that is, if lawmakers don’t act to change it, it stays the way it is, irrational. The current stalemate — in which greater pride is attached to thwarting the opposition than to advancing the nation’s interests — is depressing to most Americans and virtually all of its business managers. The impasse certainly depresses the three of us.

Signs of a more productive attitude in Washington — which passage of a well-designed immigration bill would provide — might well lift spirits and thereby stimulate the economy. It’s time for 535 of America’s citizens to remember what they owe to the 318 million who employ them.

2 weeks!!!!!!!! Has he even taken Christmas breaks that long? I’m sooooooo happy for him & his family. I hope events don’t get in the way:

WASHINGTON —President Barack Obama has booked a two-week summer getaway for his family on the picturesque Massachusetts island of Martha’s Vineyard. The White House says Obama will head north on Aug. 9 and stay until Aug. 24, when he returns to Washington. It will be the longest summer vacation of his presidency.

Obama and his family have sought rest and relaxation on the well-to-do island all but one summer since he became president. The exception was 2012, the year of his re-election campaign. Obama spends most of his time on Martha’s Vineyard playing golf, taking his family to the beach and on bike rides, dining out with friends and treating first lady Michelle Obama to date nights.

“TALLAHASSEE (Reuters) – A Florida judge threw out the state’s 2012 congressional redistricting plan on Thursday, saying Republicans conspired to manipulate the boundaries to protect the party’s majority in Washington and “made a mockery” of the rules of transparency in the process.”

Presumably the GOP will be appealing this decision.
