      It gets worse ……

White House Reporters Give Obama Republican Advice on Immigration Crisis

Now, there’s nothing necessarily wrong with asking the White House for a reaction to even the most patently absurd thing that some Republican says, but the credulity with which they did so defies logic. President Obama announced DACA two years ago. The idea that this crisis is a result of that policy is a Republican fantasy, and even if it weren’t, as I said, only an idiot would think that “sending a message” was worth overburdening the system with DREAMer deportations, and only an asshole would see ruining DREAMers’ lives as a fair trade.

And the wheel goes round and round, doesn’t it, LH? Sunday morning GOP propaganda by the bucketful with no attempt at truth or counterbalance. No wonder these shows are sinking. I think half the audience is in nursing homes where they’re just on as background noise.

      • July 7, 2014 at 8:20 am

JG, it was great to see Sally Kohn push back this weekend on Boehner’s lying and doublespeak. She challenged his notion that the House GOP has proposed legislation for jobs and exposed his deception. It wouldn’t occur to the feckless mainstream media to provide the facts to the American people like Sally.

Dear Speaker Boehner: Do your job instead
        By Sally Kohn

You assert that you have passed jobs bills that President Obama and the Democratic Senate are ignoring, but frankly the word “jobs” as you use it there is questionable. Your “jobs” bills include legislation to repeal Obamacare, through which 20 million Americans now have health insurance, cut food stamps for poor Americans and reduce government regulations on fracking.

Meanwhile, President Obama proposed an actual jobs bill that would have created construction jobs to modernize our deteriorating roads and airports, provided tax credits for employers that hired returning veterans, extended unemployment benefits, which also spurs spending, and cut payroll taxes for 98% of American businesses. But that jobs bill was killed by Republican opposition in Congress.

Good morning Chipsticks, Danny and TOD Family,

    Wishing everyone a BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Donald Trump brags about making him show his birth certificate to the world.

They put a float in the parade that shows the white house as his out house.

Now, they call him N_ _ _ _ _ in the White House, and we are “expected” to be happy.

When do “we” get to be treated like we belong here? This is beyond disgusting and it hurts.

Where is the NAACP, Black Caucus and others? This is offensive to the core and no Republican or Democratic President has been treated the way they treat President Obama.

The West View News ran this op-ed using an offensive word to describe President Obama
A local paper is making “national headlines” thanks to a questionable word choice in one of its own news headlines.

The West View News, a monthly paper in New York’s West Village with a circulation of around 20,000, ran an op-ed from author James Lincoln Collier titled “N—-r in the White House.”

The West View News ran an opposing view column below Collier’s piece by African American columnist Alvin Hall titled, “This headline offends me.

Cindy, all I can say is harness your anger and put it into getting people registered and to the polls. We have the greater numbers and we can beat them and win. Never give up. They are an ugly, but dying breed.

        July 7, 2014 at 8:17 am

        Morning jackiegrumbacher,

Yes, I will do my part. It is just disgusting that President Obama can not get the respect that he deserves. These people are ugly and have no hearts. When they do this, it is not just about President Obama, it is about African Americans as a whole. It wasn’t that long ago that we were dying just to have the right to vote; to be respected, and to be treated like “human beings.”

We are still trying to make this happen in 2014. We get educated, have good jobs, and make a better life for our children and family, and we still can’t get the respected. This is the President of the United States of America, why is it so hard to give him respect?

          July 7, 2014 at 9:08 am

Cindy, they are terrified of you and the future that the changing demographics of the US will make inevitable. That’s why they’re doing everything in their power to intimate, demoralize and discourage you from fighting back. Once the inevitable demographic changes sweep the country, they will have trouble clinging on to their pathetic power. I was at a Latino event this weekend and I looked around and hoped I would live to see that day when people of color outnumbered the rest of us. But numbers alone won’t work, unless we organize and help people to understand that they are only powerful and unbeatable when they vote. The future will belong to your children and their children’s children and they will be the ones whose respect others will have to earn.

Slight correction Cindy – it was his Presidential Library and not the WH that was featured as outhouse in that parade. But same idea…

And I agree with your entire post – where are the NAACP, CBC, and certain Black journalists and political talk show hosts who waste no time jumping on every last word he utters in speeches…. Good on Alvin Hall for calling out that offensive headline. I wish some of the others had the courage to do so.

        July 7, 2014 at 8:21 am

        Morning hopefruit2,

Yes, I forgot that it was the library. Reverend Al will probably speak to this but America should speak up about this crap. This is the reason that so many think that it is okay to disrespect President Obama. Not enough noise is made when it happens.

        • 33 hopefruit2
          July 7, 2014 at 8:34 am

Indeed Cindy. The fact that the public officials of Norfolk NE didn’t think twice before allowing this hate fest on the 4th of July of all holidays, speaks volumes. It’s one thing if this were done at a CPAC event, or some other private GOP function, but hate speech floats like this that are blatantly vulgar and disrespectful to the head of this country should never be allowed at an Independence Day event. If this were a float of GWB at a 4th of July parade – it would be just as offensive and inappropriate.

      July 7, 2014 at 9:10 am

      Good morning, Cindy.
Every disrespectful thing said about or done to Our President cuts me to the core. I doubt that anyone at TOD can shrug off the ugliness and say “Oh well. Change is hard. We know how wonderful our POTUS is and someday the world will, too.”
Nevertheless, we go on every day and do what we can to spread the positive words.

When the attacks against PBO seem worse than ever it helps me to remember that it is the cornered rat that is the most dangerous.
The GOP/MSM are the rats trapped inside their hatred and ignorance so they are fighting mad.

Meanwhile, photos coming out of The White House show a relaxed happy, glowing Obama Family, clearly enjoying their time as our beloved First family.

The best revenge against the hate is our Landslide Dems in 2014!

Demonizing the people….making them to less then human is the way that the /right uses …to strip people of their humanity…aka…SCOTUS decision….blk folks being considered only 3/5s of a MAN….

I know it was mentioned above about the racist language being used to describe the President…this is dangerous….it is speech being used to whip up racist, white supremist and anti government fervor….it is dangerous not just for the First Family….but blk and brown people in particular….and their allies….People of Good Will…MUST speak up…and condemn it for what it is….although this racist banter has been with our country from the beginning…we cannot allow it to be business as usual…..we cannot….

      March ON!!!
      We Shall OverCome……….. AGAIN!!

        July 7, 2014 at 9:15 am

It is dangerous, Pf. But these ignorant racists have no idea of the backlash it will generate. Every ugly word spoken energizes more people to become activists and fight back against the repugnance. I hope with all my heart that this leads to massive registration drives, massive pushes to get people to the polls and a massive upset in November. They want people to resort to violence because they gives them the excuse they need to incite their own violence. They don’t know or understand that we are smarter than they are and far more powerful. Just as they have never understood what they’re dealing with in President Obama, they have no idea in the world what we can do when we join together and push back.

GM all. I hope everyone had a restful weekend. My was spent doing a tone of yard and garden work. I ache in places I didn’t know could ache and only got about half of what I wanted to get done done.
This week should bring hysterical rhetoric from both the right and a minority (although they think they are more than that) of the left.
Meanwhile, folks like us will keep on getting on, doing what needs to be done to move this country forward.

    Good Morning.

Abandoned 3 kittens update. I found them on June 23rd up at our farm.

I had to have one of them put down. He had an intestinal problem and also a stretched out colon that stopped him from pooping. The Vet said he would not make it…..He only weighed 6 ounces and his body temp was only 90 degrees when normal is 102. They did a paw print for me. I had named him BooBoo….So sad.

The other 2 are doing well. Now if I can just teach the female (Sissy) to stop trying to suckle the male’s ( Binkers ) penis ( she thinks it is a nipple) all will be well.

I decided to keep them. My adult cat if finally starting to get used to them.

    • July 7, 2014 at 9:33 am

Thanks for the update Linda. Sorry one did not make it, but because of you, two did. God bless you.

I missed your story about your new kittens.

I love cats, and my fav was many moons ago when I was working as a teller at a local S&L and a customer (a young man, about my age) brought in a kitten his family was giving away. She was a 6-week old, ADORABLE calico who proceeded to walk over my keyboard. I was in love, and stopped that evening (must have been about this time of year, I recall plenty of daylight when I picked her and her two brothers up for adoption).

She was so cute trying to make it over the bumps on the keyboard!

Could you repeat the story of how you found your new “kids?”

Sorry to hear about Boo-Boo. 😦

    Good Morning Chips and TOD.

Hillary Clinton has begun distancing herself from President Barack Obama, suggesting that she would do more to woo Republicans and take a more assertive stance toward global crises, while sounding more downbeat than her former boss about the U.S. economic recovery.

    • July 7, 2014 at 9:37 am

Good for her. Gives me one more reason not to vote for her (as if I don’t have plenty already).

    • 64 99ts
      July 7, 2014 at 9:52 am

She really does not understand – she would have 500% more chance of being elected if she supported PBO instead of right wing fools – the latter will NEVER vote for her.

I noticed the arguments between BJ and LGF blogs yesterday – the only problem with the left is they just have to fight with each other. President Obama was elected by bringing all sides together.

I don’t think that Hillary is stupid enough to think that Republicans would vote for her. Anyway Forget Hillary. Our President is Barack Obama.

    • July 7, 2014 at 10:36 am

I wish HRC supporters would grow up.

It’s been over 20 years since her husband was elected, we need to look forward, not back.

President Obama has made so many improvements to this country with a Congress whose only goal (and fundraising jackpot) was to stand in the way of ANYTHING he proposed.

We don’t need to hear GOP talking points from a Dem.

BTW, this article isn’t worth much, but it shows how the Clintons and establishment GOP walk hand-in-hand:
