We are doing music in the day now? Hmmmmm.

Hi, Lib_L! I see you haven’t yet recovered from your night out. 😉

    • July 5, 2014 at 1:11 pm

It was SUCH an awesome show! AND, they had a drum solo and guitar solo!

        July 5, 2014 at 1:16 pm

Drum solo – I’m in! (The rest, I’ll pass). I already told my son that he should/ought to have a drumming session at my funeral to ‘drum me home’. I even suggested a drummer we both know (but haven’t seen for a couple of years now). 😀 😀

I love the drums, as well. Almost took lessons in my late 20s, but figured I’d spend the money elsewhere!

At least yours was an ‘almost’. I actually bought a drum set when my son was younger, hoping to entice him to play. It’s still in the basement, and was only ever used about 5 years ago when our exchange student from France spent 3 months with us! It was an awesome 3 months though because Ben played morning, evening, noon and night, AND HE WAS GOOD! Those three months of such excellent use made me feel my money was not wasted. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Chechens Ask Int’l Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague to Start Proceedings Against Vladimir Putin & Co, Accusing them of Aggression, War, War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity

“War of in fact and law is not stopped until now, the peace agreement is not signed, and the territory of Chechnya is occupied and annexed by Russia. Each of these facts is the basis for the initiation of criminal proceedings against the President of the Russian Federation, Russia VV Putin and other perpetrators who have committed and continue to commit crimes against the Chechen people also now, after the entry into force of the Statute and the establishment of the Court. In his statement, Said-Emin Ibragimov stated that the refusal of the Russian leadership (for obvious reasons) to ratify the ICC Statute can not be a legal and logical “reason” for the impunity of the real criminals, the description of the crimes that take hundreds of volumes.”

Queen in the Afternoon? Delightful LL.

It looks like you had the Time of Your Life last night at the Concert.

How was Lambert? How did his style Compare to Freddie’s? I know that is a tad unfair. But I just wanted to know.

    Gold ⭐ for Bill R. 🙂

Now back to the Game….. 😆

    • July 5, 2014 at 1:13 pm

Adam was suitably theatrical. But, I’d say he sang for only 3/4 of the concert. The rest of the time he would leave the stage and let Brian May and Roger Taylor take over. And they had numerous clips of Freddie singing. It was a great blend of moving on and honoring Freddie.

“Many of America’s Founders believed that excessive wealth inequality would be incompatible with having a representative republic. They did not expect wealth to be identically distributed, but many did envision a thriving middle class with very broad-based capital ownership and they supported muscular government policies to allow citizens to acquire property on an ongoing basis. Following their lead, our principal strategy to deal with wealth inequality should be to make every citizen a capitalist by encouraging meaningful broad-based profit sharing and employee ownership and remaking our tax system to make this possible.

In his 1787 book, “A Defense of the Constitutions of the Government of the United States,” John Adams, later the second U.S. president, wrote: “If all power be suffered to slide into hands not interested in the rights of property … one of two things cannot fail to happen.” His first prediction was that the majority “will unite against” those with property. His second prediction was that the dependence of the majority “will render them mercenary instruments of wealth.””

    • July 5, 2014 at 1:17 pm

Dems could do so well by hammering the 1%. No one likes them. No one wants them to have the power they do. It wouldn’t be a “guillotine them all” populism, but a return to, as you highlight, the thoughts of our Founders. A truly progressive income AND wealth tax. That’s what PBO has been laying down the groundwork.

Anyone else gets the sense that mostly all that really interests Repubs is sex? They cannot seem to function without trying to control people’s sexual lives – all of them! 🙄 Looked at closely that seems to be at the heart of their ideas for governance.

      • July 5, 2014 at 1:32 pm

At the core of racism, misogyny, xenophobia … is the pathological need to Control, VC.

        • 34 vcprezofan2
          July 5, 2014 at 1:44 pm

I get that part, Bfr; what I don’t get is the Republicans driving need to control …sex (an act they like to pretend they are not that interested in …outside of marriage).

          • July 5, 2014 at 2:34 pm

Simple manifestation of the reality that they are consumed by lust while trying to pretend otherwise.

Someone just needs to insert a newly discovered ‘dead sea scroll’ in their bible that states ‘sex is cool, with whomever you want, as long as its consensual’ – they’d think they’d died and gone to heaven.

              July 5, 2014 at 3:03 pm

🙂 🙂 Some WOULD think they’d died and gone to heaven. Teeheehee.

Others, I’m sure, have deprived themselves so much when they were younger, striving desperately to curve their lust that I do believe they’d be viciously opposed to a change like you described now. I mean, why should others get what they never had – at least not openly? I’m still chuckling at the thought, and the near certainty that it would create a further division among ‘christians’.

so let’s see, the so called football powerhouses, eewropeans, have got just only two nations that could possibly make it? Guess that all those bazillions don’t mean a jackquat when it comes to the game.

    • July 5, 2014 at 2:08 pm

Ah but, almost all of Brazil and Argentina’s leading players play in Europe, which is why the strongest leagues are there.

Look at Manchester City, English champions, last season – only one English player a regular in the side, goalkeeper Joe Hart. There lies the root of England’s woes.

English players are so over-priced, it’s comical – eg United just spent £30m on a teenage English full-back, James Rodriguez only cost Monaco a little more last summer. Nuts. No wonder the big boys prefer buying forinurs than buying their own.

    Press office of President
National flag of Ukraine was raised in Sloviansk

Minister of Defense Valeriy Heletey and Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko reported to the President that the National flag of Ukraine had been raised over the city council of Sloviansk.

“Mr. President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief, your command to liberate Sloviansk from militants has been fulfilled. A minute ago, the National flag of Ukraine was raised over the city council of Sloviansk in front of the formation of Ukrainian soldiers,” the Minister of Defense said.

He also noted that the instruction of the President to restore the functioning of social services and police of the city of Sloviansk was being fulfilled. “We started to restore the life of the city,” V. Heletey added.

The Head of State congratulated the servicemen and instructed to grant decorations to soldiers who had approved themselves in the course of the liberation of Mykolaivka, Semenivka and Sloviansk.

Commanders of the Armed Forces also reported to the President on the current state of the CTO.

There is a reconnaissance company in Kramatorsk that checks whether the city is mine-studded in order to hold the military operation soon.

The President instructed to ensure maximum protection of civilians in the course of the liberation of cities and inhabited localities.

In Sloviansk, the mission on provision of humanitarian aid to everyone who needs it is being started.

In Mykolaivka, which was liberated from militants yesterday, temporary administration started functioning and head of the police was appointed.

Now, they just need to demolish the tanks, APCs, etc., that have fled to Donetsk and Lugansk (which, btw, an abundance of photos and Youtube videos are already being posted by locals).

Things like this tend to happen when people know that President Obama will not hesitate to put a bullet in the brains of your enemy. This is a direct result of President Obama telling Putin to get with the program. Putin can run around all day long and pretend that he’s a tough guy, but acting tough and being tough are two different things entirely. Just look at Syria, President Obama told Russia to go and tell Assad to give up his chemical weapons or else. And what happened, Assad gave up his weapons with the quickness. Yes President Obama spoke diplomatically with Syria and Russia, but I’m here to tell you that when President Obama got on the phone with both Putin and Assad, he told them what he’s prepared to do should they cross him.

LL, obviously you don’t know how to defeat the side-eye; I’m going to give you the secret to defeating the side-eye. Whenever your wife comes into the room, always act as though you’re cleaning up, it will stun them momentarily. And while she’s trying to figure out what’s going on you silently exit the room. She will feel guilty about trying to put more work on your plate. I can’t tell you how many ball games I’ve been able to finish watching just by using this trick. It’s called “the shock and awe and exit.”

Ain’t it the truth, now don’t get me wrong. If my wife ask me (yeah, right) to do something, I’m going to do it. When my wife ask me what I want for dinner, then I know I’ve done something right or good. I’m not trying to win the war, I’m just trying to win a battle or two.

          July 5, 2014 at 2:52 pm

I read the lovely comment you made about your wife the other night or whenever, so no need explaining yourself!

I did laugh to myself that your wife probably calls a friend after such an incident and says, “He’s playing the shock and awe and exit” routine again. And then they laugh.

Oh, and, women aren’t dumb enough to post their exit strategies on a public venue, for men to see! Just sayin’.

I really don’t understand companies like Hobby Lobby, just shut the fuck up and rank in the dough. But no, companies like this are dying for the world to know what’s on their goddamn minds. Just this year alone my wife had three pictures framed at Hobby Lobby. We would have kept going to Hobby Lobby and spending our money if they would have kept their fucking hands off of a woman’s private parts. Can someone please tell me what is it with these companies and their need to preach to everybody? They must be bored or tired of making money.
