I’m sliding in again – this time while I await the phone call as to when my car is needed to help haul boxes. You will probably remember the joys of moving.
Happy to see the job report for the worst President in modern history, 288,000. When George W. Bush the Republican were in office 2008 we were losing over 700,000 jobs a month.
Of course the economy would be stronger if it wasn’t for the Tea Party Republicans who refuse to work with this President. It has been their plan from the start to obstruct, sabotage whatever President Obama tried to do for this economy, hoping that the people will be to dam stupid and start blaming that Obama. And the release of those polls yesterday is part of the Republicans plan.
I have long suspected and talked about Google’s search results being biased. Now, I’m not sure what is HuffnPuff’s angle here, but I know for sure that it’s very easy to find negative search results on President Obama, and increasingly difficult to find positive press. The opposite is true for the GOP. PBO is powerful, but he’s a Democrat, and a progressive Dem who is a huge threat to the 1% status quo. And he’s not as well-funded as the Koch Brothers who seem to dictate an awful lot these days.
My pet peeve. How could people sit in the chairs while the prez is standing and talking to them? It is not that a fucking disabled. I have seen this in too many instances. Show some respect for the man and his post, for fucksake, assholes.
Do you consider the fact that the President prefers it this way? It wouldn’t at all surprise me, knowing the kind of man he is, that as soon as people start to stand up, he tells them to just remain sitting.
No, not really. Even if he did, I would still stand. It’s just plain common courtesy. I hold every day morning tool box meetings with my staff in my factory. I will always stand with them.
That’s true Japa, but so many times you see him enter places like diners and so few people have the manners to stand up at all. And it’s been one of my bugbears in life that women think they’re entitled to remain seated in such circumstances – no they flippin’ are NOT!
I read somewhere possibly on TOD, that the SS actually instructs people to act as naturally as possible during the Presidential visit to thos public places, don’t shout, dart suddenly, or stop what you’re doing when he arrives. Of course, a few people can’t hide their excitement and it shows, but others try to follow the SS’s directives. 🙂 🙂
Maybe that is what women have to do, is set up appointments with their boss’s to find out what they should do now that they have a physical need for this BC? God, can you imagine the bosses, going nuts. My mind works in mysterious ways. 🙂
Thank you @NerdyWonka, for this post and all the infinitely fine powerful posts. Wanted to share this short film made by my friend @Nicole Taylor aka @foodculturist . “If We So Choose”. Runs a little over 10 minutes. Athens GA, her hometown, and a story waiting to be told.
Here’s what Nicole wrote on her Facebook post this morning:
“I’m proud and full this morning! “If So We Choose” is out in the world. It is a documentary short film introducing audiences to the people in Athens, Georgia who not only lived through Jim Crow separatism but fought against it and won.
So many people to thank but I’ll start with the folks at Southern Foodways Alliance. They hung in there with us and gave our team a chance to tell the story, OUR WAY.
This project is for the people of Athens, GA. Enjoy!
Religious leaders also said they hoped the move would draw attention to the danger of allowing employers to privilege their own religious beliefs over those of their employees.
“You can make the religious freedom argument, you can make the argument about contraception, but ultimately, for me, this is about power,” said Rev. Mark Winters, a UCC minister. “Jesus had a lot of issue with powerful people using power over the powerless.”
Question for AP should POTUS be taking BLAME when economic news is terrible? You media folks doesn’t hesitate to put all the blame on his desk when the economic news stinks, so why not when it smells rosey? Is there any doubt the media and right wing haters are on the same I Hate Obama boat.
The experience of the 13 states that increased their minimum wage on January 1st of this year might provide some guidance for what to expect here in Washington, DC when the city-wide minimum wage increases to $9.50 on July 1.
At the beginning of 2014, 13 states increased their minimum wage. Of these 13 states, four passed legislation raising their minimum wage (Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island). In the other nine, their minimum wage automatically increased in line with inflation at the beginning of the year (Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington state).
As CEPR noted in March and April posts, economists at Goldman Sachs conducted a simple evaluation of the impact of these state minimum-wage increases. GS compared the employment change between December and January in the 13 states where the minimum wage increased with the changes in the remainder of the states. The GS analysis found that the states where the minimum wage went up had faster employment growth than the states where the minimum wage remained at its 2013 level.
great song—-but, and I am no good judge—-but I’d like to hear someone with a good voice doing this song. This lady is croaking out the words. Don’t kill me if you disagree. I said I am not capable to judge singer’s voices.
Boy Chuck is now directing POTUS to sit before a camera and deliver the Don’t send your kids to US and that they will be deported.
Bald Todd had forgotten that VP Biden was sent to those regions. A Female president from one of those 3 nations was here last week and POTUS had Jeh Johnson and POTUS himself spoke out about this.
Toad is really a bat poop.
Now asking about POTUS taking credit? Is this a vindication that POTUS’ policies have worked? My answer to Toad…Todd, Where have you been TBGOPer Tool? Facts, Data and Results Toad. Now go jump in the Potamac River.
Compare WHPC (aka elite entitled white men, who never worry about healthcare or birth control or DWB-“driving while black or brown”, etc.) true expressions to those of our country’s and world’s future (aka children from across the globe).
Sometimes I wish Josh would just say “asked and answered” when the WHPC starts playing their snarky games and ask the same question(s) over and over as if they will get a different answer. I’m annoyed listening to it. He *has* to be annoyed answering it.
Josh “The Voice” is good! He is playing verbal soccer: every time one of the toddlers asked a stupid question (immigration, job market), he molded the reply with a strong blame on the republicans. But the best was his counter-argument to former presidential candidate Mr. Oops!-I-forgot-the-third-one Perry, insisting that Perry should call his teabagger representatives in Congress and tell them to pass the immigration bill voted by the Senate.
This!!! I love the way he puts the blame back on the repugs. He put Ed Henry in his place when he was complaining bout the number of folks still unemployed. I like Josh.
“He put Ed Henry in his place when he was complaining bout the number of folks still unemployed.” I was just coming to comment on that COS… He didn’t say Congress; he said the *REPUBLICANS*. Called them out not only about not passing jobs bills, but also about not bringing CIR to the floor for a vote. And basically said that most of those being critical about POTUS not going to the border were doing it for political reasons rather than humanitarian reasons.
Samsung is to stop producing plasma televisions (PDP TVs) by 30 November.
It said falling demand meant it would instead focus on producing curved and ultra-high-definition (UHD) TVs.
“We remain committed to providing consumers with products that meet their need,” Samsung told the CNET website.
Panasonic, Sony, Hitachi and Pioneer have also pulled out of the sector in recent years. And, according to the Tech Radar website, LG is expected to follow suit soon.
The sixth and final round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group has begun in Vienna.
The deadline for a deal expires on 20 July, although this could be extended if an agreement is not made in time.
Iran insists it is enriching uranium to fuel power plants, and wants international sanctions to end.
But the West has accused Iran of having military intentions, and wants it to scale back enrichment to ensure the uranium cannot be used in weapons.
The EU’s foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton is leading the negotiations on the part of the P5+1 group, which comprises the US, UK, France, China, Russia and Germany.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif heads the Iranian delegation. He said in an address on Wednesday that Iran was ready to take steps to ensure the peaceful nature of its nuclear programme but that it would not “kneel in submission” to foreign powers.
Press Secretary Josh Earnest is AWESOME. He learned well from Fmr. Press Secretary Jay Carney.
He and Jay have the same no drama no BS attitude towards the whiny WHPC. He’s all, motherf***ker if I told you it’s A, it’s A. It’s not going to be AB or BA in the next two seconds or however your infantile brain chooses to reword it.
It was a pleasure watching Jay at the podium and it continues to be so with Josh.
I just had to answer a FB comment I just saw, that it was the Senate’s fault for not passing the “40 jobs bills passed by the House”.
To which I said, tax cuts for the already historically low corporations does not create one American job. America has ALWAYS invested in infrastructure in economic downturns, and interest is now virtually 0. Trickle down is a myth, lining the pockets of the CEO’s and doing nothing to create one single job. It is Boehner’s traitorous House that has kept the brakes on the economy.
The Voice has just left, leaving behind the Bush generation of toddlers, wishing them a terrific weekend. He may have added “and it’s time for you to grow up intellectually, mentally, and in character”. What a bunch!
Oh-ho. Hi NW
Let me just slide the plate of bana… thingy out of the way! 😉

Still wearing the joys of moving deep within my poor old bones!
Congrats VC. Yes a real special guest indeed!
Some real ignorant responses to that tweet.

UGH!!!!
This is the tweet that was to accompany that comment …
sorry folks …. too many other tasks demanding attention … bbl
LOL – it’s okay Bob…you’re THE Twitter King, so an occasional tiny miss is nothing! 🙂 🙂
Oh I forgot no one remembers that.
They have all forgotten the mess this President had to try to fix, all with no help from the Republicans.
This is great news, Bob. Ukraine is coming into its own and is a force to be reckoned with. I love it.

It is also possible that the SS prefer it this way in close quarters like these. People sitting are less likely to be viewed as an immediate threat.
Ah, okay, didn’t think of that, maybe they’re asked in advance to remain seated?

Those now avoiding the Indisputable Facts need to explain their racial bias towards this president.

It looks like Twitter has changed their Fonts……Yet again.
Looks like POTUS might not make an appearance at the WH presser ;(
Oh well. “The Voice” is just schooling the unteachables.
POTUS has been ponting out daily that the Republicans in Congress are doing nothing and insted they are suing him for doing something.
I wonder if the next move might be POTUS saying “The Press don’t always tell the whole story. So I am going to tell you what you need to know.”
Seems like that could be the next logical step in what looks like a carefully crafted plan to overcome the GOP poison.
