Ramadan, which begins this weekend, is widely observed by Muslims around the world with fasting from sunrise until sundown. That creates a potential dilemma for Muslim players at the World Cup whose teams have advanced to the knockout stage of the tournament, as the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the World Cup overlap for the first time since 1986.
Hulk has been the best player for Brazil so far. Wish Neymar was less impressed with his hair, and more focused on trying to help his team to win. I think this game will eventually end up in penalty kicks.
He’s been so bad today. I had such high hope for him when he joined the game. They need to get him out of the game because he’s been so embarrassingly incompetent so far.
Brazil’s last three World Cup extra-time appearances have all gone to penalties (SF v Netherlands 98 (Won), final v Italy 94 (Won), QF v France 86 (Lost).
Dudette…took the Pew Research Quiz too. I also am Solid Liberal…..we are only 15% of the population, statistically. Yet, our views on each subject tally with the majority on each individual subject. The difference, I believe, looking at the analysis, is that others have the Liberal viewpoint on individual topics, but not over all. But, as you or df said, more people think liberally on each subject than the press leads people to believe. For instance, I think my husband, who is an FDR progressive, would have answered one or two questions differently from what I did.
Someone else who took the quiz said, not only Solid Liberal, but Proud, Solid Liberal. I need to memorize JFK’s answer when asked if he was a liberal. Yes, he said, If being a liberal means………I forget the specific points, but I liked his definition.
