President Obama’s Policies = Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!

POTUS Thumbs Up

Paul Davidson: Local Government Hiring Picks Up

After laying off workers through most of the recovery, city and county governments are adding jobs at the fastest pace in five years, providing support for the economy’s overall payroll gains. Stronger economic growth is driving higher municipal revenue, allowing local governments to add police officers and firefighters, reopen shuttered parks and make long-deferred street repairs. “We’re beginning to see cities and towns coming out of the Great Recession,” says Neil Bomberg, a program director for the National League of Cities. Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, notes that total U.S. payroll gains have topped 200,000 each of the past four months.

Local governments are on more solid financial footing in part because of a gradual rise in home values that have boosted property tax collections, says Michael Pagano, dean of the college of urban planning and public affairs at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Earlier this year, Columbus, Ohio, passed an $807 million operating budget, its largest ever, that restores six recreation centers that had been open part-time to full-time status. The city’s finances have been stable since it raised its income tax to 2.5% from 2% in 2009, says Dan Williamson, spokesman for Mayor Michael Coleman.

GOP Congressman Says Obama Should Violate Law And Deport Minors At Border

WASHINGTON — Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) proposed a solution on Tuesday for dealing with the crisis of unaccompanied minors at the border: The Obama administration should violate the law and put them on buses back to Central America, he said.

“Why aren’t we putting them on a bus like we normally do and send them back down to Guatemala?” he asked Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, who was testifying before the House Homeland Security Committee.

Johnson replied that the unaccompanied minors must be turned over to the Department of Health and Human Services.

“Well, the law required Obamacare to be kicked in two years ago. That hasn’t stopped the administration before when it wants to do something different,” Rogers said.

What ” law ” required Obamacare to kick in two years ago ?

    Dee Sharp · Top Commenter
According to Rogers, as long as GOPers say so, it’s perfectly OK to violate the law. Otherwise, he (POTUS) is lawless and acting like a dictator. Yeah….right!

Judge Baugh to vandal: Get a ‘real job’ and repay victims

A Billings judge on Monday sentenced a 21-year-old man for a 2012 vandalism spree and suggested he replace his fast-food job with a “real job” so he can better pay restitution to his victims.

District Judge G. Todd Baugh sentenced Brandon Daniel Turell to 10 years in custody of the state department of corrections, with five years suspended, and ordered him to pay about $13,600 in restitution.

Baugh asked Turell, who bonded out of jail about 18 months ago, what he has done to start paying back the victims of the vandalism spree.

Turell replied that he has been working at Burger King.

“Why can’t you get a real job?” the judge asked

Baugh is separately facing public censure and suspension for saying a 14-year-old rape victim appeared “older than her chronological age.”

Wow! I guess this picture somehow never gets old! Susan Smith in South Carolina drowned her two Children and blamed it a Black Man! And this guy named Stewart (his first name escapes me) in Boston, MA, shot dead his nine month pregnant wife and blamed it on a black man! By the time the authorities found the truth the accused black men had already been put through hell. Actually in the case of Stewart, one of the alleged suspect died of a heart attack. Historically, such incidents always led to the lynching of innocent Black people and the destruction of white homes and businesses by rampaging white mobs.

Josh Earnest has a new job, an office with a fireplace, and an upgraded parking spot. (On that last one, he knows he’ll really impress his dad). In exchange, he gets to deal with the White House press corps even more closely than he has been.

WH Presser by Josh “The Voice” Earnest:

        Loved Jay “Clark Kent” Carney.

Josh doesn’t josh around and he is very direct and with The Voice of his, he commands presence and he sounds more authoritative and yes, Earnest.

Jay knew some of those ‘freaks’ and his soft demeanor and his Patience, he gave the WHPC a tad of latitude. Thus far, Josh has not been repeating himself as Jay did sometimes……. while trying to re-educate the unruly jack*ases.

In 2010, at the Ball in MN hosted by then the owner of 950 AM radio, I confronted Ed on his over the top verbiages against POTUS and on his comments made in Oct or so of 2009 discouraging folks not to vote if Public Option was not part of the ACA bill. As of 6-24-14, I am done with Schultz.

Now, don’t quote me, but, yes, I do – vaguely. Have never followed up to refresh my memory, but I used to watch him then and I’m pretty sure he spoke out against it.

The Gulf war was in 1991 or so. Tweety didn’t have a show. His CNBC show started in 1996 or so. He used to work for a San Francisco Paper. Perhaps, he wrote about being against the Gulf War there.

      • June 24, 2014 at 9:58 pm

Didn’t he have a show that was on the regular NBC network back then? Tweety likes to play both sides. Didn’t he say that women like war and that the war was sexy? I’ll have to look on Youtube.
