Chat On

Spare a thought for GGail, she’s trying to learn the rules of soccer/football before today’s USA v Portugal game – wish her well.

And then chat on.

“This is going to be a global challenge and one that the United States is going to have to address but we’re not going to be able to address it alone. And as I said yesterday, what we can’t do is think that we’re just going to play whack-a-mole and send U.S. troops occupying various countries wherever these organizations pop up,” the president said. “We’re going to have to have a more focused, more targeted strategy and we’re going to have to partner and train local law enforcement and military to do their jobs as well.”

More of O’Donnell’s interview with the president will air Monday morning on “CBS This Morning.”

So, PBO interview will continue tomorrow…

The Sunday shows are trying to be cute again. They attack this president from the right with guys like Cheney and McCain, and also from the left with the liberals wet dream Rand Paul.
    Cute… Real cute…

      Cheney, McCain and Rand Paul????

I don’t think that is anyone’s idea of a wet dream Jovie. In fact it is downright disgusting. Where is the brain bleach?

      Hi GGail!

I think that a friendly in-service on the rules of soccer is required for some us…as long as it only takes about two minutes. What do you think?

Also, there may be a move to Southern Cali in my future. Would love to get your insights.

        Hiya Dakota!
        1) Have you been reading how they’ve immersed me – good luck. Chips might like you better πŸ˜‰
        2) Not knowing where you currently live in the World, I would recommend doing good research on where you want to live. You also should have a good foundation on how you live your life – the ease of life can seduce if you aren’t on firm ground as to who you are and what you want. That said, the topography is beautiful, I love the weather and have been blessed to have all my needs met. However I won’t live here long after I retire – too expensive.

If you come for a visit, let me know!

Would be moving from the Southwest, but am a Northern Cali girl originally. Used to come to L.A. to party some when much younger, but never thought I would ever live in SoCal. Ideally, retirement will find us somewhere in the Caribbean, but retirement here can be difficult as well.

Thanks for the invite! I would love to meet up with you the next time we’re in the area.

I feel like an outcast in my own country right now. Germany always goes crazy during the world cup and a nation that never shows patriotism or waves flags goes entirely bogus in black red golden everythings and flag waving. I know itΒ΄s not a popular opinion but…I spend the time during the games with other things: such as working, watching a movie on any other channel or grocery shopping. itΒ΄s AWESOME to run errands while Germany plays, you basically have the entire city and supermarket to yourself, whoot! πŸ˜€

    • June 22, 2014 at 5:21 pm

      Niliathiel, you football heathen!!!!! πŸ™‚

      • June 22, 2014 at 5:30 pm

Well, in my defence, I went to a game last week as in what we call “public viewing” (thatΒ΄s what Germans call it when they watch football on a big screen with many many people…not knowing what public viewing really means) because it was part of an exchange programme entertainment stuff schedule. My colleague joked I should watch the guys if i wasnΒ΄t interested in the game. I ate a sausage, drank some coke and told him that in my defence I rather watch things that actually matter. Such as the US elections because yes I got up a 2 am for that. πŸ˜›

        • June 22, 2014 at 5:32 pm

Oooooooh, you truly ARE a heathen!!!

          • June 22, 2014 at 5:33 pm

And proud of it πŸ˜€ My country is never patriotic in the classical hollering flag waving sense which is something I like, but every four years they become flag waving hollering chanting annoying people and I just want to hide from that. *hides from that*

            • June 22, 2014 at 5:39 pm

πŸ™‚ But I always reckon it varies from country to country during these globally huuuuuuge tournaments, for some it’s a belligerent, aggressive ‘patriotism’ (eg with some England fans), for others it’s just a time to express a joyful love of their country, which is a sweet thing. I always feel German fans fall in to the latter category!

              • June 22, 2014 at 5:49 pm

ThatΒ΄s certainly true. I do not see the behaviour of German football fans as something agressive or anything of the like. itΒ΄s just that they get all into it in a way that itΒ΄s pretty much expected everyone watches the games down to “hey, we need to finish the conference in time so everyone can watch the game”. ItΒ΄s just such an all encompassing thing that, if youΒ΄re not interested in it you have no choice but be annoyed by it because itΒ΄s impossible to get around or escape it.

I always find it funny you guys call football “soccer” since in American football you do not much use your feet even if I see that correctly. πŸ˜‰

You are not alone. While I am a very mild fan of all sports (prefer to play than to sit and watch), I must say that the US soccer team this year is amazing. I wish it all the success it deserves. How ironic it would be if we missed to hold the World Cup but finished in style?
