Who dat’? 😉
Just reminded me of the saying, when we were kids ~ Who dat that say who dat when I say who dat!
Probably came from some ’50s radio program. Ha! So, thanks. 🙂

The Holland of TOD!
Hollande? 🙂
😆 Drop that E, right now MightyP!
Pourquoi?, oh blog Goddess? Have I said something amiss?
Thanks for the front-page shout out, Chiparoo.
❤
This has been so beautiful and so overwhelming. At the end, all the children and parents surrounds POTUS, tugging and hugging and he spent the time to hug them all back. Same with FLOTUS. I hope everyone there felt just how special a day this is!!
Been crying through it all… the screaming of the Ladies…had a distinguished sounds just as the African women greet the Kings and Queens…Overwhelming indeed…my heart is full. God Bless and Keep Our President in Joy, Peace and Love!
This x infinity!
Wow, McCain on another 180? You bet. In 2010 as the last US Troops were leaving Iraq……here’s what this man tweeted:
John McCain @SenJohnMcCain · 18 Aug 2010
Last American combat troops leave Iraq. I think President George W. Bush deserves some credit for victory.
Whadya mean “We,” white man? We only have ONE President and his name is definitely not your name. You speak for NOBODY.
And the media laps up every stupid word he says – does he pay to be on TV? or is everyone else sane enough to tell the RW hack media to get lost!
LL and MightyPamela came in at the same time.
Gold!
NW, thanks so much for always being there for all of us.
Aww….thank you so very much, Meta.
Fantastic coverage of history in the making, as always, NW!! 🙂
What a great photo. You can see from the photo it isn’t staged even if you didn’t see the spontaneous interaction live. How cute the little one has her little chubby hand on his arm.
Forus50, that little precious one is so cute
The pictures are fantastic. The event was awesome, No doubt, locally there were loads of coverage.
The Cablers are having a heck of time finding audiences, yet they will not cover issues and events that many Americans will watch. Shame on them.
Once again, thank you Chips for giving us a front row seat to history in the making!
President Obama speaking Lakota – oh my!!!!!
I am so happy to be alive to witness that which is Barack and Michelle in the Whitehouse!
Love ya gal!
Someone help! my comment is in moderation
🙄 GGail and her obscene comments. Sheesh.
You are so funny! Hope this “GGail” person shapes up!
HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Wow…wow…wow!
NW – please free me
Librarian humor:
There was a young girl who kept talking eagerly to FLOTUS when they first arrived – I hope Pete Souza has some pics of that exchange!
On another note, thanks so much, Nerdy Wonka and Chips for providing EXCELLENT coverage in photos, video, and tweets of this historic event. 🙂
Such an amazing thing to witness. I feel so blessed to be a witness to it.
I’m glad others have found this to be a problem. Stephani Pelosi nicely lays out important reasons why the MSM should have covered this piece of American history.
I meant *Christine* Pelosi. 🙂
And this is just another example of how the MSM does not live up to its Sacred Trust!
What ho TOD Peeps. Taking a quick break at work to check in and I am overwhelmed with all kinds of emotion at all the pictures in this post. I am so proud that PBO and FLOTUS are our President and First Lady. I am grateful that our illustrious Prez has and continues to focus on our indigenous citizens; a group that has been marginalized and ignored by the “mainstream” for forever. In my years on this planet, I have NEVER seen a President or First Lady include and recognize our country’s Native American brothers and sisters citizens with such genuine warmth and grace and attention. Such beautiful pictures. Happy Friday y’all
Hey, purpleshoesla:) Nicely stated:)

Hey ya!!
Right ON!
O/T but really important… http://www.salon.com/2014/06/13/nras_really_big_problem_why_its_dependent_on_a_dwindling_fringe/
I can’t help but feel tremendous sadness for this young man.
Beautiful. He has such a long road to recovery to travel….
This times a kajillion!! It shameful and unconscionable the way the media and the Repugnants have “shown their ass” towards this young man and his family. Now that the facts are starting to come out will they apologize with the same full throatedness and full blown spectacle with which they have trashed him??? Waiting……
Well said.
After reading the fact that Bowe Bergdhal was kept in a 6×6 metal box for two years, I wiped out at the inhumanity of it. Metal. Cold when it’s cold outside, hot when it’s hot. The sounds of natural phenomenon in a country like Afghanistan, storms, snow, rain beating on the metal, no place to get comfortable, no place to run or hide from the nothingness. I felt terrified for him, never having even imagined such conditions. All the while, all the two years, all the 5 years he was held, we went on about our lives: eating, drinking, blogging, traveling, helping our kids with homework, teacher conferences, shopping, movies, lighting candles, meditating, praying. And Bowe was there, hour after hour, day after timeless, endless day. Never knowing whether he would see the light of the world again. God must have been with him, but I doubt it felt so to him. If he recovers any level of human stability or peace, it will be truly a miracle. And his parents, not knowing, for 5 years. It’s almost too much to consider how painful for all of them. May God be with them now, it is not over. But he is home.
I just cry reading this
{{{{{ ❤ Layla ❤ }}}}} I sat in a solemn meditation for a long time, trying to mentally experience what must it have been like for Pvt Bergdhal. It is astonishing his spirit did not just leave his body. I didn't mean to make you cry, but I had to express what my afternoon was like, having read that short report on his captivity. Then I think I power napped, as I felt utterly exhausted.
“It is astonishing his spirit did not just leave his body…” MightyPamela, my heart just sank as I read your comments above and then I just went to a place of pain and hurtfulness for his parents to maybe have had the same thoughts.
Thank you for reminding us how delicate and painful this has to be for him and his mother and father. I pray to God that my souls will be better in order to deal with how I commit my prayers to God for the comfort, wisdom and compassion or those medical persons who will do all that is possible to bring his back to a place that his soul will be beautifully and richly moved to a sweet healing place.

Heartbreaking.
Beautiful Sentiment…Meta
Hee.
Yeah I’m listening to you Mr. Maliki…..blah,blah,blah,blah,….we can handle these insurgents we don’t need any help….blah,blah,blah…..
HAAAAAA
LOL! Looks like there’s a screaming toddler in the background…
There is, HF. It’s John McCain.
tru dat
Alrighty then, I’m back from *the* convocation! First off I’ll say we picked up the official piece of paper – there were no ‘cum laudes’, but offspring did make the Dean’s Honour Roll.
I very definitely missed POTUS, or FLOTUS, or even AG Holder! They have spoiled me re convocation speeches. As a parent who is not at all fond of pomp and ceremony I confess that I found this entire ceremony a bit less than impressive; however, I am quite pleased that One Son, at 21 is a Bachelor …….. (of Fine Arts with Honours in Music). What he plans to do with this – only he, and the good Lord, knows! Although in fairness to him, he has been saying since high school that he wants to become a well-known composer. Any of you in the village need – and are willing to pay salary to – a young classical composer? I’m sure I could come up with a word-y recommendation. Let me know, as the poor young fellow’s parents have no worthwhile contacts in music, or without! ( See, there are no Clintons, Huntsmans, Bushes, Farrows, Russerts, etc. etc. ……in his family tree to assure him of a leg up, so the TOD family will need to step up to the plate.)
Well hello vc, sorry to say I am a person with no influence/connection whatsoever! What did your young man finally wear…
Dress pants, SHORT-sleeved shirt and tie, AND a thin suit jacket. It was drizzling and a little overcast, so it wasn’t hot though he was happy to get rid of the jacket as soon as the recessional was over.
A big success then, good! Now put your feet up and read on..
Exactly my plan. {Layla}
You were both on my mind,VC. It is a milestone, a good one, and important. Congratulations to One Son from AuntMightyPamela!
Thank you on his behalf, MP! I only found out** recently that several of his closer ‘friends’ chose to do the same course in five years and he’s completed it in four. It is definitely a milestone, and I am pleased at what he has accomplished even if I don’t understand a single note.
**found out when I asked in frustration – ‘Well, what are your male friends wearing?’
Vc, my friends have since moved to another country who had great contacts at USC Music Dept., however, this little granny can and will pray for the very best for your wonderful son to be used in a bold and beautiful way with his music degree. I will pray for him to meet those who are well connected in the field of music where his talent will be appreciated so beautifully that his dream will come into action, being a great composer.
I will pray that doors will be opened up for him to meet wonderful people who will give him the opportunity to use his music degree for those who will love his talent, his patience to teach others, and his compassion to be patient to be used by God in a most rewarding way that will please you as well in your proudness for his accomplishments.
I will pray that his musical talents will not be limited, but will be opened to a vast number of interested people who will see a great gift in your son to be a great teacher, leader, and musician to and with other gifted and talented young people.
May his dreams become a reality as he is exposed to God’s best on his new journey with this great gift- Music. Amen. {{{{Loving hugs}}}}HZ
Many, many thanks HZ, your prayers for my son are greatly and truly appreciated! [In fact, I’m going to copy and paste it and send it to him. As a Christian, he will definitely cherish the references to ‘God’s best’.]
Me, I love the way your prayer so thoroughly covers so many aspects of his music, and I remember that you yourself followed a musical path. In fact, you were one of those telling me to ‘chill out’ a couple years back when I was lamenting in the village how I do not see the connection of music composition to ‘real life’ – 😉 😉 . Heck, I still don’t 😉 but it really isn’t *my* real life, so I’ll continue to cheer from the sidelines. 🙂
One of the good things about being a member of this family is that I know, despite my ‘lamentation’, you all know I’m tremendously proud of him. I don’t understand his focus but I respect him for his singleminded-ness, and I AM proud of him. He has come a LONG way from 875grams at birth and 3 months in the NICU!!!! 🙂 🙂
Thanks again, and take care of yourself! ❤ ❤
Congratulations, VC. Convocation already? My, how the time has flown!
It has indeed! Thank you on his behalf, Theo.
ps: I’m starting to feel my age. 😀
Your age = all your blessings over these years – feel away…:)
Good point….very good point, and it puts a brand new face on this age thing. 😉
Happy Sunday!
These pictures are gorgeous. Thank you NW for your tweets. I told my husband that I could see this group showed PBO the proper respect that he should have. Made me feel so good.
NBCNews had a short segment on the President at this event. Good pictures. Also, the first segment was on Iraq, and BriWi actually said that the cause of these awful events now was the invasion in 2003. What a surprise!!! I see, hear and feel news opinion changing toward the Bush administration and NeoCons.
Chris Matthews had a powerful, correct, and wonderful “Let Me Finish” He called out GWB and Cheney and his poor group of advisers. I don’t know how to post a video, but if you have the chance, find Matthews’ Let Me Finish. It was powerful.
The photos in this post brought tears to my eyes. So beautiful! I am glad that President Obama and Mrs. Obama spent a nice day with the First Americans.
And this here, is a big reason why the media didn’t cover PBO’s visit. They don’t want that critical piece of info to be widely known.
#TrustBarack
I am not ok with the fact that the only way to see this important and moving event was on my computer. I am angry about this.
I observe that the media covers only events that can be negatively construed. No matter what, if it is bad for PBO they make that the story. I just can’t accept this.
Todays extreme absurdity was the New York Times front page article which slanted Eric Cantor’s tremendous collapse as if it was a Problem for POTUS. You know, because now PBO’s agenda was dead. Cantor being oh so helpful, i guess.
This is really nuts. Unbearable.
The fightback position is to make sure that voting rights everywhere are protected and polling places available. There are more of us then there are of them. All of us must vote.
This!!!!
“The fightback position is to make sure that voting rights everywhere are protected and polling places available. There are more of us then there are of them. All of us must vote.”
That’s all that matters – the outcome we create on 4 Nov 2014 must be blindingly decisive. Then we spend two years with a fully empowered President Obama.
Yes WE MUST
PREACH VIC!!!
It’s a winner, Chips.
Astonishing, actually. The convergence of technology that no one who stood on that sacred ground for the past several thousand years could have ever imagined, compounded by hundreds of years of exploitation, now culminating in a US President begin hailed by Native Americans as Trustworthy – memorialized in a selfie!!!
Well said, Bob. It brings a tear to my eye, it’s so astounding!
Thank you Jacqueline. The amount of amazing packed into that image is truly overwhelming. And, despite the very best efforts of the corporate #NEWSTAINERS the whole world is participating in that amazement thanks to social media and the Internet infrastructure that enables it.
I just sent it off to a few folks, myself, in case they missed the moment!
Sickening. Absolutely SICKENING!
So is POTUS and FLOTUS spending the night in Palm Spring? Then POTUS will go give the commencement speech where, then he will come back to Palm Spring, and he and FLOTUS will come back to the WH Monday.
UC Irvine in the OC. Palm Springs is in Riverside Co.
Thank you Tally
😀
Cannot believe I missed this visit! Thanks so much for the extended coverage, from the bottom of my heart, Chips!
Trying to ‘make sense’ of all these comments on the First Family’s visit to the Rez is ‘hard’ because I missed the goodies. I’m trying to follow it all though – pity I missed the MC live. Right now I’m trying to find the point when the O’s arrive as I’m sure there will be lots to see in terms of the reactions of those on hand. Thank you Chips & company for always being in the thick of things!
WOW – what amazing posts to start my day – it seems the US media refuses to show the widespread support for PBO – every where he goes – and they are amazed – just amazed when he wins elections.
Your hits must be over the moon today Ms Chips & NW – and LL and all the other TOD posters – thank you so much – what a truth in media site this is.
I’ve also read some wonderful comments on the threads today – lovely lovely people. We are so lucky to live in the times of Obama.
99ts, have I told you lately that I love you? 🙂
Smoocher – but I love you back – 1000 times – and grandbabe is coming for “lunch at the local” and PBO & Michelle are still in the whitehouse and the world is good today
Coolest. First. Lady. Ever.
🙂
LOVE IT!!!!!
HeeHee! She so rocks my world!! 🙂
MP, I just love how she rocks his world and keeps him grounded.
He gets all giddy with her sense of humor. So refreshing to see real human begins enjoying life instead of being stiff and proper.
I just got home from being out since early this morning. I am completely enthralled with the pictures, tweets and articles. This is wonderful! There is absolutely no site on the internet that showcases our President as well as TOD. We would not have a clue about President Obama and his interactions with people, his accomplishments and his decisions on issues, if it were not for TOD
TRUTH!!
I often think of a conversation that I had some time ago with my step dad. We were talking about PBO and I swear that he was talking about some guy that wasn’t ANYTHING like the man he was describing! The MSM has mislead America about the goodness that has been done because of this man.
I had this problem with Mr 99 – he is learning to ask me first when he reads the nonsense – else he gets cut off mid stream.
The name that PBO’s Crow parents gave to him that translates as “He who helps people across the land” was prophetic. No president at any time has embraced, with respect and love, the First Nation peoples. He has been getting shit done, from day one: cleaning up the old business from promises not fulfilled to helping to position the nation for a prosperous through access to affordable health care, education, jobs, and justice. PBO’s most endearing trait is that he really sees and respects everyone.
LIVE NOW: Awaiting the First Couple’s Arrival in Palm Springs – http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
Currently in Palms Springs | Sunny | 100°F |
It’s a little warm today…107 at my house now..
Oh my df – that is warm – even in my language 41.7C – if we get over 40 – it is hot
I knew the second PBO picked up that baby, we were in for quite a treat. All the children gathered around him and just showered him with hugs. I hope there is video of the whole event from the moment POTUS and FLOTUS arrived to when they left. So many special moments throughout. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Today was a special piece of history I won’t ever forget.
It was sweet. I have never seen children react that way with any other president.
How about GW “Iraq” Bush
Did you send it to the FBI and the Secret Service?
Thank you, Bobfr:)
Who is behind this freaking B.S.?
It’s not funny one bit. I hope it was reported to the Secret Service.
CBS News ticker: ” Hollywood’s badass dads” REALLY??
Another beautiful, historic day, in a beautiful, historic presidency!
