Hel-llllooOoo there, CC! What are you up to today?

          • June 7, 2014 at 7:43 am

Well, I was going to spring clean, but…… I might just try to teach Danny some tricks. Like ‘sit’.

              June 7, 2014 at 7:48 am

Is it spring? I thought we had sprung into summer.

As for DannyO, send him over here and we can practise ‘sit’ together – I’ll model it for him.

              • June 7, 2014 at 7:52 am

I’ve never spring-cleaned in Spring in my life. Why do they even call it spring-cleaning?

                Emailing ya Danny right now!

Hold the Danny email until I get back from the clinic – don’t want him wandering around the neighbourhood. *They* take great pride in their flowers and flower pots.

Chips, the only time it’s”spring” cleaning is if you have overnight guests in spring. I have learned that lesson the hard way.

                  • June 7, 2014 at 8:28 am

Ha, EXACTLY Jackie!!! πŸ™‚ I am the expert in last minute panic ‘cleaning’ when someone is coming, but usually they open a door they shouldn’t and get lost under the collapsing mountain of rubble I hid in that room. All so stressful.

I hope I don’t miss it! In about an hour I take my teenage guest for a tuberculosis follow-up (it’s a requirement for working in the health sciences over the summer), so I should be back in time. In your case, don’t worry. Our BT reporting is top notch – nothing of value passes us by here in the village.

Hmmmm. Chips, I’m doing some investigative reporting. Did you, or did you not, enter here (7:32am) BEFORE you posted the warning on the previous thread (7:32am)? May I have the mliliseconds of both entries posted please? This might be a breach of trust case headed straight to the Supreme Court…….oops…scratch that.

Listening to our Pres’ weekly outreach, I can’t help marveling at his focus and organization. While his opponents flounder around him he moves on, pauses to pat them on the head (via Brian W), then pivots to the next thing, and the next….and the…. I am unwaveringly proud of THAT man, and of his family for their willingness to share him with us.

Morning Chips and all. It’s a glorious Saturday in my part of the world and I’m heading off to the farmer’s market and then a big old street fair to support the hospital. Then I’m planning on a great afternoon catching up on the Maya Angelou memorial. I hope our president gets to chill out and play golf this morning.

    • June 7, 2014 at 8:19 am

Morning Jackie! If the President does any work today, I will write a strongly worded letter of complaint to the White House!

      Have a perfect Saturday Jackie!

Good morning Chipsticks, Danny and TOD Family,

Congrats on 1st Chipsticks………….seems to be an investigation going on about your “1st” but I will let you have your gold : )

Thank you Chipsticks and Nerdy Wonka for the BEAUTIFUL pictures and updates on President Obama’s trip. Everything was absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Thank you President Obama for your beautiful soul, and for giving all that you give to us for a better America. May you always be blessed indeed.

Tracy Morgan (comedian) is in critical condition this morning following a major 6 car accident last evening. Sending prayers and warm thoughts for him and his family.

Sending blessings and prayers for Dr. Maya Angelou family and friends as they celebrate her home going services. She would probably tell all of us; Don’t weep for me, my journey has been great.

Thank Dr. Angelou for your words of wisdom

Wishing “EVERYONE” a very BLESSED and BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY and weekend.

Oh I didn’t meant anything by it, I’m sorry.. I just didn’t know if it was me being too sensitive, but it seemed to be a really snotty commentary about POTUS and then to end with the Vet’s words was such a highlight.. it’s kind of a schizophrenic article, isn’t it.

          • 43 africa
            June 7, 2014 at 9:32 am

No worries. I don’t think you were being over sensitive at all. I was mad reading the article, I would have stopped, but I wanted to hear what the Vet said. Of course it did not appear til the very end. It was a little schizo.

    • 44 Roberta in MN
      June 7, 2014 at 8:45 am

That was a partly lousy article. Sooo, all the leaders think Obama is a weak president? That sure isn’t the way I take what the week held. I thought better o the beast, guess not.

      • 45 hopefruit2
        June 7, 2014 at 8:58 am

This writer presents his (very slanted) opinion with ZERO facts to back it up. Like much of the US pundiotry I suspect he (along with many others such as War Room Tom, KatrinaNation, Laura Rozen, Martha Radditz, etc) was one of those secretly rooting for Putin just so that they could claim that PBO is “weak.”

With this article, the writer is trying to turn a very positive day, during which our President looked VERY strong and was treated as the WORLD LEADER that he is, into another “Obama is weak” narrative. Sadly (for the writer), it doesn’t work, and the writer comes off looking petty, juvenile and almost vindictive.

    • June 7, 2014 at 8:51 am

That article was like the mother of all burying the lede.

        Good morning TOD,
This morning is beautiful, quiet, peaceful and grateful.
Thank you everyone here who made D-Day celebration special.
A special thanks for posting the pics of the Afro Americans who were not included for their services abroad and upon their return home.
It hurts when you have grandfathers and uncles who were maimed, died and neglected. Now, their right to vote is in jeopardy. Still we were not taught to hate….
I am being tested with Billary being on the scene today. God, give me strength to pass this test!

It will be a tremendous knowing that two phenomenal women’s’ spirits will once again be embraced with love, respect and admiration.

Well, dear folks, I’m still here. Teenager requested we leave at 8:25am so that she’d be first in line at the clinic which opens at 9:00am – her bedroom door is still closed and I don’t hear a shuffle. My original plan had been to get there for 9am, so that I’d be back here on time for Maya’s goodbye celebration. I see somebody finding her own way back home depending on when she surfaces – she may even have to find her own way there if it’s too close to 10am. Sigh! This is one teenager who frustrates me because everyone else (all 2 of us πŸ˜‰ ) in this home is an early riser; she will sleep til 1pm, once even to 3pm! Drives me nuts I tell you!

    • June 7, 2014 at 9:00 am

      June 7, 2014 at 9:09 am

Have you never lived with a teenager before? Were you never a teenager? When I was in college we would stay up all night playing cards & sleep through the next day – missed a few lectures and all.

Hi 99ts. You are up for Maya’s farewell! You are probably sleepy right now too. πŸ˜€

Re teenagers and sleep, my grandmother had this thing that you shouldn’t let the sun find you in bed, so I guess since I grew up with her in the house I absorbed that. The teenager I raised happens to be an early bird like me. It really does drive me crazy to see someone ‘sleeping the day away’, plus I really do not understand how anyone can sleep with the sun shining so brightly! The flip side of that is that she won’t go to bed at a reasonable time. Grrrrr! She just came over to ask ‘Are you still going?’ so of course, I said ‘No, I have something I want to watch at 10am.’

  12. June 7, 2014 at 8:59 am

Good morning TOD! How wonderful it is to be able to come here and follow all that our great President is doing. What a week. He never slows down. It is a very busy day. I will miss Maya service but know I will be able to see it all here. Today is High School graduation. We have 3 high schools. They all graduate today at different times in our University’s gym. Makes it easy to attend them all if need be. Then tonight they have the all night party. It keeps all them safe. Such a great idea.

I get so heartsick at all the vitriol at our President and the Bergdahl family. There is too much hatred. I pray folks get out to vote in November.

NEW YORK — More than five million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease. There is no cure, and many patients suffer in silence. Now, a public figure has revealed to CBS News that she is one of them: B. Smith, the restaurant owner, designer and decorator.

Asked what her Alzheimer’s diagnosis meant to her, B. said, “It meant something bad — really bad to me.”

Barbara Smith was one of the first African-American models on the cover of Mademoiselle. In 1986, she opened her first B. Smith restaurant in New York City, and two more followed. She hosted a TV program, wrote books and was called the black Martha Stewart.

At 64 yrs. So sad for her.
