    “Stand”

What do you do when you’ve done all you can
And it seems like it’s never enough?
And what do you say when your friends turn away
    And you all alone,alone?
Tell me,What do you give when you’ve given your all
And it seems you can’t make it through?

Well you just stand when there nothing left to do
You just stand, watch the lord see you through
Yes,after you’ve done all you can, you just stand

Tell me, how do you handle the guilt of your past?
Tell me, how do you deal with the shame?
And how can you smile while your hear has been broken
And filled with pain, filled with pain?
Tell me what do you give when you’ve given your all
Seems like can’t make it through?

Child, you just stand whenthere’s nothing left to do
You just stand, watch the lord see you through
Yes, after you’ve done all you can, you just stand

    Stand and be sure
Be not entangled in that bondage again
    You just stand, and endure
God has a purpose,Yes god has a plan

Tell me what do you do when you’ve done all you can
And it seem like you cant make it through?
Child, you just stand, you just stand, stand

Don’t dare give up through the storm, stand through the rain
    Through the hurt,yeah,through the pain
Don’t you bow, and don’t bend don’t give up, no, don’t give in
Hold on, just be strong, God will step in and it won’t be long

After you done all you can, after you done all you can
After you gone through the hurt, after you goune through the pain
After gone through the storm , aftr you gone through the rain
Prayed and cried, preyed and cried
    Prayed and cried
    Prayed and cried, oh my

After you done all you can you just stand

“During his time in Tampa as commander of U.S. Central Command, Marine Gen. James Mattis said he saw no evidence to confirm that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, released in a prisoner swap last week, collaborated with his captors.

“I have never seen one bit of verified or confirmed evidence of that,” Mattis said in a phone interview with The Tampa Tribune. “Not one bit. You hear things and it was second- and third-hand.”

Other information “specifically discounted” reports that Bergdahl, captured by the Taliban in June 2009 after leaving his outpost in Afghanistan, was working with his captors, he said. Mattis declined to comment on what that information was because it remains classified.”

Guy, may your beautiful and loving mother memories always be for me: all those who respected her and her space take this beautiful celebration of her memory in my heart to lift me to a place of doing the works of faith that is my driving force to love, appreciate, accept, and help others.

May I always remember that she did not tolerate malice and disrespect for her home and personal space. So, I pray that my spirit will always remember that I will always carry this, first being taught to me by my grandmother, grandfather, and precious mother. Through her writings and speeches, these lessons will lift up my spirit to receive God’s most loveable and cherished gifts provided to me to walk this earth daily to reach out and be touched by the lives of greatness.
Dr. Maya Angelou, so in my quiet moments I pray that I will always reflect on how to recognize these core principles that began with my mother, grandmother, grandfather, and Dr. Maya Angelou who all taught me how to respect myself as a young lady. That worth will forever be in my spirit and my space, I humbly pray. HZ

It is ALWAYS, always beautiful to CELEBRATE a life!
This is something I discovered as a teenager when a deacon`s wife from my church passed on. Before that I had never known that a funeral/memorial service could be a time of sorrow-tinged JOY. Dr. Angelou’s celebration was terrific – she done good, touching and changing many, many lives!

“Well done, Dr. Maya! Well done!”

As Mrs. Obama described the fact that Dr. Angelou was challenging all the young black women out there to be their real selves, I was thinking that ~ off in the corner, quietly listening ~ were a whole lot of young white women like myself and others who heard her, too. Decades ago. And I know her words reached all the men who love and loved us, those who also heard her sing through her poetry and other gifts. She “just loved people,” as her pastor said ~ and she was a gift to the world, for sure. The whole wide wonderful world that had her in it. #NationalTreasure

        June 7, 2014 at 1:59 pm

… and this white woman from New Jersey! 🙂 I feel conflicted about being so uplifted by her memorial service, because she’s not here with us. But I am. She was truly a black cultural icon, almost like a Black Madonna painted for all of us in a portrait that we get to hang on our walls, but she was also a womanly icon.

I kidded my son when he stopped by during the memorial that, as Maya had once written about her “terrible, wonderful mother,” he could write about me someday because we’re ALL terrible, wonderful mothers! (He didn’t say he wouldn’t, so that’s a start.) 🙂
