And Today’s BIG News:

Steve Benen: Job creation remains steady, 217k jobs added in May

Once in a while, the expectations for the new jobs report and the actual data line up remarkably well.

The new report from Bureau of Labor Statistics shows the U.S. economy added 217,000 jobs in May, which is almost exactly what economists expected. The overall unemployment rate, meanwhile, remained at 6.3% – still at its lowest point since September 2008, nearly six years ago.

… All told, over the last 12 months, the U.S. economy has added over 2.38 million jobs overall and 2.36 million in the private sector. What’s more, May was the 51st consecutive month in which we’ve seen private-sector job growth. The year isn’t quite half over, but 2014 is currently on track to be the best year for U.S. job creation since 1999.

Marvin pulled the guy out of the crowd, found him a wheel chair, and brought him over to meet the President. He was a French veteran. The man’s face shows his emotion.”

I am so proud of my POTUS that I don’t know what to do with myself. Even he last words as Hollande grabbed him to say good bye were so right.

Very happy for the somewhat unpopular François Hollande to have pulled this one off. Very beautiful, thoughtful, and well executed.

That ceremony was so moving; I cried tears of sorrow and joy. I am so hopeful for our common futures when I am reminded of how much the world can accomplish when we work together. The days of Vlad and those we aspire to be like him are numbered; he needs to get onboard the 21st century before its forward march mows him down and under.

A man accidentally shot and killed himself while driving Wednesday afternoon down a Tennessee highway, Chattanooga TV station WTVC reported.

James Anthony McKenzie, 49, shot himself in the thigh with a .45 caliber handgun as he drove, Meigs County Detective Scott Wiggins said. A call came in for deputies to respond to a seizure, he said, but when they arrived McKenzie had apparently bled to death from the wound in his thigh.

The man was in the car alone, according to WTVC, and deputies were trying to determine how the gun discharged. McKenzie held a valid permit for the firearm.

Wow – suddenly the news is all good and folks are having a great time – what a difference a day makes.

Although the shooting news from Seattle was heartbreaking – that it took a good guy with a pepper spray to bring him down – just has to be good news for those who support some control on guns – not to mention those who were in the vicinity. Fast thinking young man, has earned the thanks of all.

Deputy Shot At Georgia County Courthouse, Suspect Dead

A Forsyth County, Georgia deputy was shot in the leg Friday morning at the county courthouse and the suspect is dead, Atlanta TV station WSB reported.

Law enforcement sources told WSB that the suspect drove up to the Forsyth County Administration Building armed with “an assault rifle, bullet proof vest, smoke grenades and a gas mask.” Deputies came out of the building to confront him.

Forsyth County Sheriff Duane Piper said the suspect is dead and the deputy is expected to recover.

The courthouse and surrounding businesses were on lockdown, according to WSB. The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reported that a bomb squad was on site to search for potential explosives.

Republican legislators in Michigan tried to prove they understand women by showing that they read women’s magazines. The result wasn’t what the lawmakers had hoped for.

On Thursday, Michigan Public Radio Network reporter Jake Neher tweeted a picture of state Reps. Roger Victory, Peter Pettalia and Ben Glardon reading Glamour and Harper’s Bazaar.

“Don’t say we don’t understand women,” Pettalia said, jokingly, according to Neher.

After all that has occurred this week, it is with great honor and respect that I share this Scripture with TOD.
It is our President’s faith that he goes to when weeks, days and moths like we have witnessed here try to overtake him
    Deuteronomy 28:7

I just returned from a women’s conference of over 3,000 women praying daily for POB and his family since day one. So I have come to a place of total PEACE knowing that we may never witness a human being like PBO again in our lives

Indeed, I believe their prayers have been answered, and are being answered. He is doing what we elected him to do, and he is surrounded by the prayers of this group, and I know of other groups also. Carolyn, you are so welcome.
If you only knew how my heart leeps for joy whenever I hear openly him and his family’s names being lifted up in prayer.
I share this Blog with everyone I meet so they can be better informed.

It is going to get so evil before he leaves office due to the fact every attempt they have tried to throw at him has and will fail.
So they are going to try harder to undo and blemish his record( with the help of the jealous Dems)

But I feel that he will be able to do more when he can speak freely and openly as a citizen.
They should and will be more afraid of Mr. President Obama because he knows that they know he knows what they don’t want us to know.
And we have two daughters who just may follow in their father’s footsteps, if need be.

I am sad yet, optimistic that POB will never be done even when his term is over.
On the other hand, I am going to need therapy and long, long walks.
Please don’t be surprise if I arrive in your state during one of my “therapy walks”.

I will be back to see the African American National Museum in 2015, if not sooner.
I love visiting D.C., now. I must confess never felt a part or desire to in the past.

The National Harbor is beginning to be my favorite hang out place to go. That huge Ferris wheel draws me even more. It is so beautiful at night.
Okay. Truth be told, it is the new Tanger outlet(too rich for me, though).
I hear a casino is in the making. Not for me though, I rather spend my money on good ice cream and chocolate. I found a spot and you know when you have been to a place one times too many when they hide the little taster spoons.
Oh, well it is my vacation and “I vacation like I mean it.”
