Chris Matthews is on his BULL DOG ATTACK STYLE making claims that these 5 released men are going back to Afghanistan and will probably attack us again.

General Barry McCaffrey (Chris Matthew) is saying that President Obama “knew” that the soldier had deserted his post and he should not have publicly embraced the parents and it’s troubling; stating that Dr. Rice is smart and she should not have said that the soldier served honorably.

Feinstein has publicly stated (Breaking News) that President Obama has broken the law and she is troubled by what he did.

Ed Shultz says that impeachment hearing will most likely begin after midterms.

    This is sickening.

Can you imagine a Republican Senator doing to President Bush what Diane F. is doing now??

Perhaps Diane never got over handing the reins to Senator Obama at the end of primary, 2008. Anybody else remember the meeting at Diane’s DC home?

Do you mean, ‘This is sickeningly predictable’, Cindy?

    • June 3, 2014 at 8:34 pm

I had to turn it off. My stomach was churning. Matthews kept repeating that there must be a reason we kept them there [GTMO] even as the prosecutor kept saying that in 12 years they didn’t have enough evidence to try them. Then the prosecutor reminded him that the only legal justification to hold them would expire at the end of the year when the war closed and they would have to be released. He characterized the deal as a win-win, getting our soldier back in exchange for 5 people who would be released in 6 months anyway. I don’t think Tweety can accept that the majority of prisoners at GTMO were not in fact hardened criminals and that the media played along in the Bush administration con for so many years.

This whole episode is revealing just how vacuous our media are and how they have been accomplices for years to the travesty of the Bush war on terror. We need a media revolution.

This is “First Debate” all over again. The media (including MSNBC) is just MAD that PBO is dead serious about ending the war in Afghanistan.

There will be no “impeachment hearing” because PBO has not broken any law or done anything wrong. So Ed Schultz can shove his blatherings up his arse…

I thought Feinstein had an issue with Brennan?!?!? Just a couple months ago, she was all over that….well, w’happened to that one?

Anyone have any wonder why POTUS told Kelly and Michael that FLOTUS would not be running for any political office. Because FLOTUS doesn’t want to put up with such B.S. from both side, Republicans and Democrats. And I don’t blame her. I am at the point were I can not stand Diane Feinstein.

She rode to victory in 2012 on our illustrious Prez’ coattails though didn’t she!!! She has become a huge disappointment;and I write her almost monthly telling her that. My letter to her this office this month is really going to be particularly scathing. We lived up in the East Bay when she became Mayor of San Fran after Mayor Moscone was assasinated and she is nothing like she was back then. It is my fervent prayer that someone like Kamala Harris, decides to run for Feinstein’s seat when she’s up for re-election.in 2018.

          • June 3, 2014 at 8:49 pm

YES, exactly, purpleshoesla!! Kamala would be such a vast improvement. I’m hearing she wants to run for governor, but we’ll see……Senator might be much faster track to top ticket.

Go for it Meta! You will at least have one Southern Californian, me, working tirelessly on your behalf! The sad thing is that she is not up for re-election until 2018.

In the meantime, I plan on sending an e-mail to Sen. Feinstein expressing my strong objections/displeasure to what she is doing to the President. To be honest, I don’t think she cares. In the past, it has taken her more than three months to respond to my e-mails, whereas Sen. Boxer always responds promptly.

Feinstein will be booked for all the news programs this Sunday….High Drama…it seems that PBO was right…they can’t be trusted with classified info

I am just getting sick over this whole thing.

Some guy, on Chris Matthew now, Joshua Carnelison (served as medic in Bergdahl unit), soldier intentionally and purposely left his base. Saying that it was intentional and Bergdahl was trying to join Taliban. Joshua says he deserted the army.

This is a melting pot. Feinstein will blow this up more than the repukes and they are going to join her in going after President Obama for impeachment.

This is real and we are in for a ride. This is ugly now and is going to get real ugly. Other Dems are joining in with Feinstein. They are painting Bergdahl as the enemy and Chris Matthew is leading the way making claims that others dies because of him and that President Obama knew that this guy was not honorable.

Trouble brewing quickly and we can’t hope that it will disappear.

Dear Cindy – they will not impeach the President – never fear – he carries on doing good. This is no different to Benghazi!!!! and it got the fools absolutely no-where.

If anyone – other than PBO brought home a POW – there would be a ticker tape parade – it is always easy to find some disgruntled soldiers (there are no doubt millions of them given how the gop treats their service and them) to attack the black guy. This will pass.

Our State is something else. This played out all morning on the locals. Unbelievable, the judge brought it to the attorney, no charges file.

Yesterday in the elite Coral Gables, an 18 year old got into an argument with a driver and the passenger shot the boy in his rear in the middle of the streets and things were chaotic.

Welcome to Florida and our great gun laws. They haven’t caught the driver. A store manager ran out to assist the young man while others ran for cover.

Tweety is going wild with Obama hate on this rescue/exchange mission, FOXNews cannot be any worse. He’s bullying one of his guests who tried to insert some sanity, saying at one point that the hyperbole needed to be dialed back. Tweety spit back at him. They all have on these same Repub hired soldiers, showing crying parents of soldier killed during purported rescue mission calling Bergdahl a traitor, showing Feinstein saying PBO broke the law, now have some unknown source saying he listened to some radio conversation saying Bergdahl was collaborating with the Taliban–the swiftboats are coming out of the woodwork—this is out of control now. Snowballing into insanity. And I may detest Chuck Todd more than anyone—–his report tonight was as despicable as he could possibly make it. You would have thought PBO ordered the destruction of America—–he was all doomsday and alarming as he declared this has “erupted into a major scandal for this White House”, more accusations of breaking the law etc. etc. This is ugly squared. Media seems determined to try to wreck President Obama—Benghazi didn’t do it—–they think they’ve got something here and are just out of their minds.

Jackie, I think this is a very important message to push. Republicans cannot be trusted with the handling of the military in ANY WAY.
They are happy to send us to war, but WILL NOT support them when they come home (or don’t come home) damaged.
It is reprehensible. I’m appalled. It’s a new low, if that’s even possible.

      • 62 vcprezofan2
        June 3, 2014 at 8:43 pm

It is reprehensible, GaMG, but it is also the Republican way IMO. I really do believe they see the military as a place to channel people, as it were. They do the patriotic platitudes quite well, and that’s about it. THEY LACK A CORE! There is not much that Republicans in general can do that would surprise me anymore, and the Dem pols who repeatedly play to their tunes are, as far as I’m concerned, not really sincere.

Amen, JOB! That’s exactly the message these RW idiots, both elected officials and media pundits, are sending to parents. Three days ago Bowie Bargdahl was POW! The moment President Obama secured his freedom, he automatically became a deserter and a traitor who should have been left to die in captivity! My answer to the kerfuffle about #Bergdahl. Coincidentally, PBO does say at one point ‘We leave no one behind’. Yea, it had to do with economics, but it still works. Other words in this are equally pertinent to the furor of the moment.

I just don’t have the desire to allow these guys to push my buttons re Pres O. They play this game waaaay too often for it to be meaningful for me, and I kind of feel that even the Dems who join in do not merit my energy/anger. If President Obama and his Admin made this decision to move ahead, I have no doubt he considered his options carefully. If he chose to meet with the parents in a press conference, I don’t doubt that he felt it was the right thing to do in this instance. Truthfully, my position about Pres O is that he has hit the nail solidly on the head so many times that if he were to slip up going forward *I* will simply say – ‘He’s human after all’ and I’ll still be behind him. Just saying. (Hi, Jovie! 😀 I always think of you when I type that. It’s nice to see you are back in the village)

It’s somewhat sad, I think, that we allow ourselves to become distracted each time, instead of, right away, telling the hypocrites to stuff it where the sun doesn’t shine, then move on with a discussion of the real issues.

Comment by ” Huckleberry” is very astute, and I think, right on the mark:)

In all honesty I think the president is doing the EPA thing, and Bergdahl swap, just to push the repubs buttons before the mid terms. He knows that they act before they think. He also knows that anything he does will be criticized. I believe he is winding them up and letting them go.

The public is overwhelmingly in support of climate change and the need to do something. Yet here are the repubs, deniers to the end. The same with Bergdahl. Even if the public despises him as a deserter if that’s the case, they don’t want him left there.

They keep beating Benghazi and the public is deaf to that, along with the IRS and Fast and Furious. To top it off the ACA is working just fine.

Yeah, I think Obama is just poking them in the eye to hear them scream. I say don’t forget the other eye.

“Republicans are outraged that President Obama acted on information that they knew about for three years. It is also information that has been public knowledge for the last two years. It comes as no surprise that the man who is leading the media campaign to smear Sgt. Bergdahl is a former Bush administration official.

According to BuzzFeed, “A former Bush administration official who was hired, then resigned, as Mitt Romney’s foreign policy spokesman played a key role in publicizing critics of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the released prisoner of war. The involvement of Richard Grenell, who once served as a key aide to Bush-era U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton and later worked for Romney’s 2012 campaign, comes as the Bergdahl release has turned into an increasingly vicious partisan issue.”

John Boehner and House Republicans are calling for an investigation into something that they have known about for years, while a former Bush administration official is leading the media effort to build this partisan show into a full blown scandal.”

      Hello Chips,

Just got back from work and saw this.

I don’t let anything get under my skin anymore. Once I realized that whatever this President does will never get a passing grade from the rightwing nuts and their cronies, their tantrums leave me indifferent. The truth is this: whatever Obama did with the POW, he would have been crucified. As long as BO has convictions and act on them, I am just fine with the swap decision.

Let the rightwing crazies chew on this. This is the next entrée; they gave a pause to Benghazi. Between now and 2016, they will find many more things to be upset over and to call on a special committee for many more hearings. That is not an opinion, it is a fact.

      • June 3, 2014 at 8:52 pm

Hiya No Child – oh, you’re so right: “The truth is this: whatever Obama did with the POW, he would have been crucified.”

And it shouldn’t remotely surprise me, but the fact that the media is so gleefully echoing the RWNJs on this is what’s making me tear my hair out.

Their two stars? Josh Korder – now fundraising for himself off his media campaign against Bergdahl. And Cody Full, a racist piece of crap who tweeted all kinds of bigoted bile about the President, much of which he then deleted.

And these two guys are doing the media rounds, and not one of their interviewers has questioned them about their agenda.

        I despair.

        • June 3, 2014 at 9:06 pm

If that can bring you comfort, know this: there is no difference between the media and the GOP/Teabaggers. Don’t expect any fairness or accuracy from the media. It’s all gotcha questions, silly comments, puerile analysis. That’s what we have as journalists now particularly in the TV world.

It’s disconcerting to see this coordinated launching of attacks, but I’ve seen this movie before and I know how it ends. Just remember this: NO WEAPON formed against our President will prosper. NONE. Two months from now, both these idiots (Korder & Full) will have imploded and will be national jokes.

Well over half of their readers are probably going to bypass this issue. The printers will have to do what the book publishers do – buy copies by the thousands to make sure the circulation stays up.

You are so correct Layla – they have nothing to take to an election – no Benghazi, no repeal health care, no vet legislation, no UI, no jobs bills, no immigration, no wars – but Impeach!!

I’m sure others can add to the list – but this is why everything the President does is “scandal, outrage, disaster” – until the next thing happens.

It could also be because – Black man in White House.

Right here. Nothing to get worked up about. This paragraph says it all

“By the GOP’s own definition, Bergdahl was a prisoner of war. President Obama had the constitutional authority as commander in chief to take the actions the action that he did.”

Boom. Game over. Feinstein and the Repubs can talk all the smack they want but a constitutional scholar knows exactly what he can and can’t do as President. Well that and the fact PBO told them what was going on three years ago. It’s not his fault that they suffer from intentional short term memory loss.

4 Nov 2014 determines the future of America, vetivera.

All the ‘chips’ (on pun intended) are on the table.

      The #MIC, #NEOCONSTERS, #KLEPTOCRATS and their #GOP, #NEWSTAINERS minions all know it.

If President Obama emerges with a DEM-Controlled 114th Congress, they are in for major disruption and they know it. We need a turnout on 4 Nov 2014 that has never been seen in American History. We must not fail to deliver …

      Yes WE MUST

Two months ago Diane Feinstein was all hot and bothered about an issue with Brennan and the CIA…now I hear nothing about that. Feinstein is an attention seeker and probably has a few personal axes to grind with PBO. Her one-trick pony act is getting real tiresome… FAST…

    • June 3, 2014 at 9:04 pm

I don’t know why my dear friends at TODVille let the Bergdahl’s triple axel from the GOP get the better of their mood.

What is new here? Since when the GOP, the Teabaggers, and their conservative ever agreed with the President? By now, we all have seen over and over again that if the President is for something, they will oppose it even if they agreed on record a minute before that they were for it.

Once we are aware of their game, why should we be all ups and arms?

I will offer to remain as calm as the Commander-in-Chief and focus on the midterms. This Bergdahl’s story is a temporary distraction from Benghazi. Whatever can stick, they will use it. The GOP has no plans for the country. All it has is a bunch of middle-aged and angry people that cannot stand the current occupants of the WH.

        June 3, 2014 at 9:10 pm

You’re so right NCLB. This is a silly distraction and the MSM/GOP are flailing because the chances of the GOP winning the Senate are getting smaller by the minute. They are lashing out angrily in all directions. It will come to the point where if the President has a bowl of cornflakes for breakfast, MSNBC will be talking about impeachment hearings – just because the GOP thinks PBO should not have had cornflakes for breakfast.

That’s how ridiculous it’s getting, and we should not allow these things to distract us.

I get upset because they do it while he is travelling – in company of world leaders and they so want to undermine him in the midst of all his international achievements. Not a murmur about the Ukraine & NATO – because this is big PBO success.

    • 195 nathkatun7
      June 4, 2014 at 12:11 am

Well Hillary Clinton can be skeptical all she wants! She was not the one elected to be the Commander In Chief, invested with the responsibility of taking care of all the men and women in the military! And neither was John McCain! Like it or not, the majority of Americans elected President Obama and gave him that responsibility. I personally could care less what Clinton says, or what McCain says, or what media idiots, like Chris Matthews, say! If Bowie Bergdahl, who was, until three days ago, regarded as a U.S. POW in Afghanistan, had been left behind, the blame would be on President Obama! No one would blame John McCain, Hillary Clinton, or Chris Matthews. As far as I am concerned, all the hyperventilating critics of President Obama for securing the release of an American POW need to STFU!
