I don’t even think these times work for me but I’m having trouble with the maths – why did I think I understood time

The press conference no doubt will be all about trading a POW for terrorists! Do hope the european press calls out the idiots.

This is breath taking. PBO and our nation will have some beautiful photos from all of the departments in his two terms. This is a hard working administration. Know it for a fact. Thanks to Pete Souza and his team for the excellent photography. POB appreciates Pete very much. The trust is mutual. What a beautiful journey Pete Souza has given us of this presidency. I pray that I will live to see and read about all of it is many wonderful books by Mr. Pete Souza. HZ

Like every other one he writes. He lets fly with what needs to be said

“This revolting, disgusting display of hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy, is this what we’ve finally become?

Are we now so filled with foul bilious hatred, are we now so consumed with soul-destroying fear, do we now despise our own selves so much that we would actually protest the return of one of our own? Is that it?

      Is that what we’ve become? ” …

“Because the utter unmitigated, unhinged, unbounded yellow-eyed hypocrisy that defines this sick twisted morally bankrupt philosophy has finally, today, reached its zenith. There is nowhere left to go. ”

I hate to think they can go any lower

Thank you so much, Alycee, for sharing this must read essay by Jim Wright! It should be shared widely. Some of us oldies have never seen anything like this. The President of the United States is being attacked and vilified for negotiating a release of a U.S. POW! John McCain, of all the people, should be ashamed of his despicable behavior. After all, there were rumors that when he was taken prisoner by the North Vietnamese, he became a collaborator. Still, that didn’t mean that people were angry at his release or wanted him to die in Hanoi. Moreover, once he was home, he was lionized as a war hero! Although there is no evidence that McCain performed brilliantly on the war front, he is still worshiped as a war hero because of all the years he spent as a POW. Both the GOP and the MSM are so consumed with hating President Obama. There is nothing that he does that they won’t find a way of turning it into a negative. As far as I am concerned the biggest culprits are the MSM who pretend to be in the business of informing the Public. Instead, they’ve degenerated into being mouth pieces for the right wing GOP propaganda.

Hi nath – it sure is a read – McCain got a special mention in the comments

“One very salient point no one seems to be making:

John McCain was himself returned to the USA, was rescued out of the festering Hell he’d been tortured in for years and years, as part of a prisoner exchange. That he owes his freedom to North Vietnamese Communists being let go and set free.

This should be hurled in his face, publicly and loudly, until The Return of Old Yellow Stain finally does what he should have done years ago and retires.”

Hello 99ts, you are absolutely right! John McCain needs to be shamed publicly! He also needs to be reminded of the hush hush rumors that because he was a son of an Admiral, and a collaborator, he was treated very well compared to the other POWs.

“Nevertheless, Bergdahl has been condemned by the popular media, by social networks, by pundits and politicians, not because they know more about the situation than you or I do, but solely because they hate the president. If Obama was behind Bergdahl’s release, then Bergdahl is a traitor, Q.E.D. because the president must never, ever, be allowed even the slightest acknowledgement of patriotism.

This condemnation isn’t about Bergdahl, it’s about Obama.”

I laughed so hard at this that I had to hit my nebulizer and the O2! Posting the first couple of paragraphs, but PLEASE go to the link and read the whole damn thing. Be forewarned — Do Not Drink or Eat While Reading! I WILL NOT PAY FOR RUINED KEYBOARDS, CLEANING SERVICES, ETC!

“Yeah, so I just about pulled something in my neck laughing at this..I just had to share. (I highly recommend that you DO NOT drink anything while reading.)

My night began as any other normal weeknight. Come home, fix dinner, and play with the kids. I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours: ‘Maybe I should pull the waxing kit out of the medicine cabinet.’

So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom. It was one of those ‘cold wax’ kits. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off.

    No mess, no fuss.

    How hard can it be?

I mean, I’m not a genius, but I am mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. (YA THINK!?!)”

I saw John McCain was previewed coming on my news and I rapidly changed the channel before I heard a peep. For all the idiots involved in our wars, why do they ask THEM their opinion. Who cares???

John McCain should lose his citizenship for what he has said about the return of this soldier – or maybe he should have been left to rot in Vietnam.

It’s only a week late. . . Memorial Day History: While history differs on the “1st Memorial Day, or then called Decoration Day”. In May 1865, Charleston S.C. 10,000 people gathered at newly made graves for 257 former slaves, who were Union Soldiers, to honor them for their service in the War. These slaves were buried in mass graves by the Confederate Army. Each soldier was given their own grave, and took two weeks. https://twitter.com/CarolMaeWY

    re: gun debate.

not to mention article 1 section 8 clearly states that militias are to be controlled by democratically elected bodies (federal and state), and are supposed to stop INSURRECTION, which is the exact opposite from what republicans have been claiming for decades when they say, “we need gun to stop tyranny!1!!!” they are diseased in the mind, the modern republican.

Chief Justice Warren Burger was absolutely right about the 2nd Amendment! Any one, even some of us with average intelligence, who reads the Second Amendment will find out that it does not guarantee the right of individuals to own any type of guns, including military like assault weapons. Sadly, the current right wing on the Supreme Court, led by Antonin Scalia, decided to interpret the Second Amendment in favor of the position taken by the NRA and other nutty gun advocates.
