I’d like SJP better if she hadn’t touted David Koch a few weeks ago. I know he gives a lot of money to NYC arts but NO. And seriously, who turns down a dinner invitation to the WH?

      OK, whatever. FLOTUS adores her!

I think SJP respects and supports POTUS and FLOTUS. She has not been one of those two face supporters like Matt Damon.

You are lucky Sarah J.Parker. And POTUS and FLOTUS have it work out about Malia taking driving lessons this summer. July 4th Malia will be 16.

Fournier is unhinged because the VA Secy was not fired…

First of all, Sebelius was not fired. She left when she decided she was ready to do so.

I’ve noticed all the newsies appear a tad unhinged and panting about this issue. I guess they thought this was The Big One—–against all evidence and reality—–a “scandal” which they could smear PBO. And then there goes President Obama again, sounding all reasonable and smart about this, and they all are crying in their beers—–in grief—-and are lashing out in toddler anger.

Yes, that’s pretty much all there is to it. And if you notice, the most vocal ones are not even veterans, nor have they ever had loved ones victimized in the VA system. They are unhinged about this for purely political reasons.

Higher than expected Dem turnout for yesterday’s primaries has them scared and desperate.

Plus the #readyforHillary PUMA crowd have been silenced by the humiliating defeat of Majorie Margolies in PA-13 primary election.

This comment is so spot on dotster3. My favorite line ….

And then there goes President Obama again, sounding all reasonable and smart about this..

Excuse my language, but “F” Ron Fournier.

Tell Ron Fournier that in Topeka Kathleen Sebelius got a bigger round of applause then that Kansas GOP Governor. Like someone said Sebelius wasn’t fired.

O/T…TOD my head is EXPLODING with disgust at the RWNJ Gop devils…as I watch Ms Nancy Smash explain
why the Dems have decided to participate in the millionth Benghazi CIRCUS. I think she is doing the right thing
by participating, don’t get me wrong….It’s just that as we all know this is something that should not be taking place.

I hope it comes back to bite them in the ass…where their brains are located.

The whole thing is ridiculous. What a waste of time and space. Politics at its ugliest——at a new low.

Things which make you consider your own mortality:

Every Thursday I have a shift online for Instant Librarian. My partner for that hour has been absent for about 6 weeks. I can’t make it tomorrow as we will be short staffed, so I called the coordinator. I asked what had happened to Ryan, and she told me he’d had a stroke. He’s my age.

I’d already resolved to get my health in order, and I have a doctor’s appointment for June 2. But man. That’s just put me in a contemplative place.

HaHa!! Actually, it’s kind of true – not so much we are afraid, as we are very law-abiding. Seattleites are known for standing at a Don’t Walk sign, in the pouring rain, with no cars visible in either direction.. Seattle is a wonderful place to live!! 😉

I had a very early doctor’s appointment this morning and an excruciatingly long commute to get there so I listened to Bill Press, who I haven’t listened to in about 5 years. It wasn’t completely terrible, but someone has to explain to me why a ‘progressive’ radio host uses for ‘expert’ commentary, shills from Political and the National Journal! For at least an hour. God.

    Talk about being a hypocrite.

That has always been an issue for me as well. Not that all Political reporters are bad, but it gives the entire organization legitimacy.

Everything is presented through a GOP-centric prism in today’s corporate owned media, left, right and center. The owner class’ voice or pov dominates every discussion.

For non sports fans……. Marshawn Lynch at **mandatory** press availability during Super Bowl week…. “I’m just here so I don’t get fined”

Again—–I love President Obama at these events——with the sports teams——he’s a natural. Always looks like all are enjoying the occasion, including PBO.

Can you imagine when he welcome the Bears or Bulls to the WH. That old Chicago pride. POTUS like the White Sox in baseball, FLOTUS the Cubs, her Dad was a big Chicago Cubs fan.

      • 34 japa21
        May 21, 2014 at 3:31 pm

Unfortunately, the only Chicago team he will welcome during the remainder of his time in office is the Blackhawks.

  15. May 21, 2014 at 2:53 pm

Context: There are 11 offensive & defensive players on the field at one time during football games……. Like Texas A&M in college…. the Seahawks considere their fans in the stadium the “12th man”…….for being so loud(causing opponents penalties b/c they can’t hear play calls)….which was referenced by President Obama.

Dick Gregory, Nas, Paul Mooney, and More Talk Race in “The Rules of Racism” Documentary
    by Clutch — May 21, 2014

The infamous director, producer, author and radio host Tariq Nasheed says we need to talk about race and racism.
Nasheed, the force behind the Hidden Colors documentary series, is set to release the third installment entitled Hidden Colors 3: The Rules of Racism. His newest project features commentary from scholars and entertainers including Dick Gregory, Nas, and Paul Mooney.

I’m a huge fan of Paul Mooney. He is a brilliant comedian and is brutally honest about race in America. Check youtube for his standup specials if you need a good thought provoking laugh.

Hi Alycee! How are you, I hope you’re feeling beeter.

How did it go in Pa. primary yesterday? Ours is coming up on June 3rd. Last night I was trying to get volunteers to come out on Nov 27th and June 3rd to make calls for Donald Norcross. Right now he is running to replace my congressman, Rob Andrews, who resigned to end his term, and running for 2014.
