Yes, I bought one. Then I bought another! (ah, the good old days when I had $$) (it’s weird not to be able to make donations anymore)

        • May 19, 2014 at 6:05 pm

๐Ÿ™‚ The only problem was I hardly had a wall large enough for the poster, it was huuuuuuuuuge!!

I sure as heck didn’t notice you had updated, it looks just great!! I remember you were kind enough to post my kitty wearing her Cats for Obama collar, while the poster was on the door of the dining room! Doors are great places to hang posters!! (use BluTack)

      • May 19, 2014 at 6:28 pm

Me, too. And the buttons! Thanks for updating it for 2014. AWESOME.

Me too. Took forever to come – got lost in the mail and was returned to sender (Georgia Dems) . But I finally got it. It’s framed and hangs on the hallway wall facing me as I walk out of my room.
I’m certain I heard about it from either this site or BWD’s.

First thing this morning, I received a delightful robo-call (I usually just hang up on those things) from Lucy McBath, mother of Jordan Davis, encouraging me to vote for Dr. Rad. Too bad it was just a recording, ‘cuz I wanted to assure her that I would indeed be casting my vote for him tomorrow.

      • May 19, 2014 at 6:36 pm

Wow, that’s a good use of the concept of robo call. I hope Dr. Rad has a good chance.

Bummer. He seems like such a good guy. So is Nunn expected to win?

Yeh, he’s the more progressive, true blue Dem. But she’s got the bigger machine behind her — money, name, even some Repugs like her. [sigh!] ๐Ÿ™„

We may have to settle for a yellow dog Dem in the general election, but if she’s what we got, so be it. Flipping that Senate seat to light blue is still way better than leaving it red. Naturally, I’ll vote for the Dem nominee in November, no matter who it is.

Follow up to tweet in the previous post, and LL’s question ….

“Within the antiterrorist operation near Kramatorsk Ukrainian soldiers managed to capture a number of terrorists who introduced themselves as Russian journalists. This information was confirmed by the Director of the Center for Political and Military Studies Dmytro Tymchuk.

โ€œUkrainian soldiers received information regarding preparation of the attack on airfield near Kramatorsk from a portable antitank missile launcher. Within the antiterrorist operation Ukrainian soldiers managed to capture the antitank launcher itself as well as a number of terrorists. Two of them introduced themselves as Russian journalists. They happened to have a TV camera and were filming the positions of Ukrainian armies and their preparation for the operation,โ€ said Dmytro Tymchuk.”

Here is what the woman from Gratefulness said in a second email (after I thanked her on our behalf): “Our aim is to welcome people to light candles as a ‘sacred action’ and will do what we can to safeguard the space for those who use it with that intention. Warm wishes, S.”

    • May 19, 2014 at 6:39 pm

I can’t thank you enough for rescuing our sacred place from the vile intruders. You’ve done a great service for us and I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I’ve been using that site for PBO since the very early days of his first candidacy and it’s always been a tremendous place of refuge and honor, intention and protection. Thank goodness we have the help and understanding of the site owners. xoxo

Dems get their donations from everyday Americans. GOPers get larger donors and they have so many groups raising Dollars as they support the GOP with Billions in Ad propaganda. Thank goodness, their $445M spent to discourage folks from ACA didn’t pan out.

I’m so glad. I signed the petition today, but those moms are hard working and will make a difference! I will NOT eat in a place where guns are allowed, and we quit a church because there was no policy to forbid guns, and we knew some people who actually carried guns into church. Where we go now, the sign is in the door…..NO WEAPONS.

I’m with you carolyn. I would not/will not patronize ANY place that welcomes people so messed up that they can’t leave their homes without bringing those kinds of weapons out around other people and children.

A little anecdote: I spent most of the morning at a meeting as a consultant on a brand name chocolate product. There was a very high profile chef/pastry chef in the conference who said her latest cookbook was inspired by Michelle Obama. I almost let out a yelp! It was so nice to her our FLOTUS acknowledged in such a big way among food professionals for all the hard work she’s done in the culinary world. YAY!!

I just know he loved this time…..getting out of the White House with all the demands on him, getting out in the neighborhoods, being with wonderful kids…….So glad he did this. There is not another president in my life time who could have done this so naturally, OR even thought about doing it! He looks so natural with those kids and throwing out the first pitch.

      • May 19, 2014 at 7:31 pm

There has never been another POTUS who so regularly visits communities to express hope, support and compassion. He interacts with seniors, children, wounded vets, companies, workers, disaster areas, WHEREVER he can make contact. This has never been done before on this scale. It’s part of who he is and how he has shaped his presidency.

      • 110 anniebella
        May 19, 2014 at 7:40 pm

I see where POTUS and FLOTUS often talk about how they can’t get out and take a walk or go somewhere without the whole world knowing. Well 2 and a half more years and their lives will be Barack,Michelle, Malia, and Sasha again.

        • 111 hopefruit2
          May 19, 2014 at 7:46 pm

Their lives will never be the same as pre-2008. PBO is a larger-than-life figure and his presence in various public spheres will be sought even more after he leaves the US Presidency. He simply will not be allowed to go gently into that good night. Ditto for FLOTUS and the girls…

        • 112 Dudette
          May 19, 2014 at 7:48 pm

They’ll be private citizens, but I doubt they’ll be able to go anywhere without drawing crowds of adoring fans, who just want to see them, shake their hands or hug them.

        • May 19, 2014 at 7:54 pm

Their lives will never be the same. In fact, I doubt they’ll be able to live in their old house without a huge disruption to their neighborhood. They’re going to have a lot of Secret Service protection. Malia will be in college and will probably have a fairly decent shelter but POTUS and FLOTUS will always be surrounded by well wishers and greeters. It will be interesting to see how their lives unfold.

        • May 19, 2014 at 9:04 pm

I am enjoying PBO and FLOTUS/VP & SLOTUS while we have them these last few years however, I will be extremely sad because I know I will never live to see another President and VP team as these. I look forward to staying up on his contributions to society, speaking engagements for all of them, and making plans to attend this Presidential Library. No matter where it will be located I will plan to go see it before I die. I know that I will buy every book they write. I hope PBO becomes the first unintended multi-billionaire ex-president in history.

Well I am just hearing on our news that our basketball coach from the University of Montana is going to Oregon State. That surprised me until I heard that Oregon State had just fired Craig Robinson, Michelle Obama’s brother. So sorry about Robinson, but thrilled for our coach Wayne Tinkle. He is very loved here at UofM. It hasn’t been officially announced yet. Wonder where Craig will go. Know it has to be hard being the POTUS’s brother in law.

      May 19, 2014 at 7:58 pm

      It’s been announced

Oregon State has fired Craig Robinson, the school announced on Monday.

// Robinson, the brother-in-law of President Barack Obama, had three years remaining on his contract. He was 94-105 in six seasons in Corvallis, making him the fourth-winningest coach in school history. The Beavers, however, failed to make the NCAA tournament or even the NIT in his tenure.

“I want to thank Coach Robinson and his family for their contributions to Oregon State University,” said athletic director Bob De Carolis in a statement released by the school. “This was a difficult decision, but after further evaluation, I believe it is in the best interests of our student-athletes, our basketball program and our University.” Robinson will receive a buyout of $4 million — or 10 times Obama’s salary of $400,000. //

I guess that’s the plan…MSNBC’s desire. I mean every other tweet from these two are about Hillary and what the GOP does/doesn’t do, thinks/doesn’t think about her.

If I didn’t know better I would think it was a GOPer troll sending out those tweets every 60 seconds…

These people live and breath elections. They lack imagination. They could find many things that could increase their viewership but they are too lazy.

They could begin by trumpeting the upcoming midterm elections instead of planning HRC’s coronation.

Atlantic Council’s John Herbst Cites Putin Pullbacks, Statements by Russian Leaders in Ukraine Insurgency

Some of Amb Herbst’s ‘advice’ is untenable, but otherwise some of his observations are quite reasonable based on all the stuff I’ve been reading from sources in Ukraine.

If we see clear evidence of a troop pullback in the next 24-36 h then we can begin to believe that Putin is catching a clue ….
