Good morning, Ms.Chips. Greetings, Cindy. Top o’ the morning to you, Danny!

    • May 19, 2014 at 7:55 am

Distraction reigns: after typing my greetings I forgot to say how much I love this photograph. This man is deeply good. So clearly walking the good road. We are the luckiest people in the world to have him at the helm. When things get to me, I think, ” The Obama family is brushing their teeth and putting on their Obamajamas in the White House again tonight…” and my smile comes right back.

Nancie, couldn’t agree more–“we are the luckiest people in the world to have him at the helm.” The idea of Obamajamas is fascinating. I think they would sell like hotcakes.

A top of the morning to our TOD family! I love these quiet moments in the morning before the storm, the birds are chirping and the little kids are scurrying off to school.

gm Don – your words reminded me of one of the poems I posted on the recent poetry thread

“And the bush hath friends to meet him, and their kindly voices greet him
In the murmur of the breezes and the river on its bars,
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,
And at night the wond’rous glory of the everlasting stars.”

      Good morning Don,

It’s good to take time out to smell the coffee, embrace nature, quiet the spirit, and collect our thoughts before the hustle of life sets in.

      Have a WONDERFUL DAY!

    • May 19, 2014 at 8:20 am

      GM Don….

When I was lil girl….(@12 or so)

I would spend some of the summer with my grandparents….my grandmother (nana) was an early riser….she would always fix her coffee….and sit on the porch in the early hours before the neighborhood would wake…I would sit on the pillow nearby…just enjoying the time with her….sometimes she would talk…but most time it was just quiet…..one of my best memories…

        May 19, 2014 at 8:25 am

Sounds heavenly, Pf. I like nothing more than getting up early and sitting with a cup of coffee in the early hours before the noise of the day sets in. How wonderful that your nana shared this time with you.

        • May 19, 2014 at 8:27 am

YESSSS….as you know when you are young…you do not always realize what a treasure those moments are….

            May 19, 2014 at 8:34 am

And that’s as it should be, don’t you think, Pf. Imagine being aware of all your young moments as “precious.” You wouldn’t be able to fully be in them if you were mentally trying to record them.

Obviously the Chinese never been charged before for this particular issue, so this step alone is huge. Furthermore, we really don’t know what else is being done. Whether or not they are “returning the favor” as you say, would not be routinely reported…

Goooooood Morning MsChipssssssss….NW…..BTs and the TOD Village…..

Inspiring video of Martin Sheen….(WE are to do ALL things with Great Care)..there were so many profound lines

I love this one by Rev Barber…

      May 19, 2014 at 8:33 am

Thank you for posting this prettyfoot58,

Dr. Reverend Barber is a force; a voice needed in this country to tell it like it is. He knows the history of this ugly racism that has existed and still exists. He speaks so calmly, and guides you through the history of what has taken place with voting rights. He is fired up and ready to go, and his spirit for fighting for our voting rights is what we need in every state as we go into 2014 and 2016.

Attack education and voting rights; keep people ignorant, and they will eventually go against their own best interest. I say, “not this time.”

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has ordered troops near Ukraine’s border to withdraw, the Kremlin says.

Units in the Rostov, Belgorod and Bryansk regions should return to their permanent bases, a statement said.

Russia has made similar statements in the past, only for Nato to report no change.

Correspondents say the removal of some 40,000 Russian troops near the Ukrainian border could help de-escalate the Ukraine crisis.

Well, as you say, AMK, I’ll believe it when it’s verified by satellite and confirmed by Ukraine and NATO. I believe nothing Putin and his propaganda outfit say. They have zero credibility.

GM all fellow TODvillians from beautiful, sunny and hopefully warm Chicagoland.

Happy Birthday prettyfoot, you young thing.

Like every Monday, we look ahead to another week where PBO will show just how smart he is and the GOP will show just how stupid they are.
Happens everyweeek, the only difference is in the details. Wonder what it will be this week.

Sorry, Cindy! OMG..these guys are ready to crawl out of their skin right now:) SO am I…I’ll miss them over the summer though. Still have my tutoring kids in the summer, too. Have a good couple weeks with them:)

          May 19, 2014 at 10:01 am

They are definitely crawling, I took a break today. With the FCAT and EOC testing, I was beat up, needed to stop and smell the coffee : )

Yes, summer tutoring is in as well. I really enjoy it because our students are in trouble; Math, Reading and Science, 10 weeks (in my humble opinion) is just toooooooo long of a break because so many students do not read or have any academia stimulation taking place during this critical period.

It’s interesting that no one in the current media seems to want to acknowledge the fact that PBO spoke publicly and forcefully about income inequality BEFORE he was the DEM nominee for President. Ezra only cites PBO as giving a speech on this issue in 2013. Occupy did not initiate this conversation, and as for Hillary, she’s a bit late to the table.

Here is an article from 2007 detailing PBO’s platform on income inequality. As a matter of fact, when the privileged Liberals were busy attacking PBO for not prosecuting Bush/Cheney/Rice, he was busy working to get the economy back on stable ground so that he could then pursue his overarching agenda of income inequality. The ACA was an elemental part of that goal…

    • May 19, 2014 at 9:37 am

There are so very many issues that PBO has championed that apparently many cannot can see. The RW and media have so utterly trampled his legacy it’s hard to stomach. Even Democrats complain at every turn. But we are here to witness and get the word out. Thank you, hf.

    • 96 Vicki
      May 19, 2014 at 9:43 am

Hillary has nothing to run on except her gender so of course now that income inequality is front and center she will try to own it.
As you rightly point out PBO was on this a long long long time ago. On it and making a better world. Bravo!

The Democratic Alliance met a few weeks ago and all I heard was that the effort would be “to turn the party more left.”
Translation “make Billary seem more left.”

PBO Occupy Bill de Blasio Elizabeth Bernie Wendy and countless others talking about things that matter.

The administration in waiting is a day late and a dollar short.

Income inequality = decent wages for day’s work, etc? Our guy has had his eye on that meme from before he came to the nation’s eye. Here’s a 2003 snippet [from my precious FLASHBACK file 😉 ]

    Good morning TOD.
My local NY news say PBO will be at the Cooperstown Museum of Baseball on Thursday which is upstate NY. I have also read that The President will be delivering the commencement address at West Point, also in upstate NY but not that close to Cooperstown. Helo will be handy.
However, I don’t know if these are 2 separate trips or just one.
Surely the speech at West Point will make it on to the TV. Won’t it???
