Chips Chica, you have no compassion! You took off and left me leaning against the post in the last thread, even though you know I’m feeling a bit more bleary-eyed than normal. /smh/ No compassion

Congrats, Almab! Nice sprint to the ribbon.

Good for him. Enjoy and relax!!!!!

I’ll be in Gainesville area Tuesday and on into Fairfax Wednesday. Prayers for safe travel appreciated. Leaving in couple hours…….meeting up with hiker hubby for next three days……put him back on the trail in the Shenandoah, then go on with my visiting of friends in northern VA.

    Good morning Ms. Chips!
Talking to myself again on the last post.
It is such a beautiful day here in NYC! Too bad I have so much paperwork to do inside.
Hopefully, I will get out before the sun goes down.

I had so much fun LOL at those fool Teabaggers…..all TEN of them!
    They have passed pathetic now.

Our FLOTUS’ speech sealed their fate permanently. She touched me and I could relate to every single word. I experienced the exact same thing growing up down south. My parents gave us no other options but go to a segregated school. As a young girl there were so many emotions to deal with that people really do not know what goes on inside your heart and head. Looking back, I have no regrets. It helped to shape, mold me to this confident woman that I am today. I thank God Barack met Michelle…….they were just what each other needed to become whole.

I married a man with the same characters and he appreciated a no none sense, confident, got-your-back-woman. He helped me to embrace my childhood struggles, hold my head up and stick my chest out when painful flashbacks caused anger and regret to rise up inside. My faiths is on a great level!

As sad as we will all be when this unique First Family leaves office, I welcome the days that they will share together and hopefully reflect upon what a powerful impact they have made on so many of our lives.
    Back to the paperwork…..

Good morning everyone, and thank you Nena for this wonderful video! So good to see that era in color, as I know well we did LIVE in color!

Watching FDR I had a couple of thoughts…..what courage it took for him to walk that distance, and to stand for all the official ceremonies and his speech. Also…..did he have any idea what he faced in less than a year! So glad he was president during those hard years.

I’ll never forget the day FDR died. I was in a kindergarten class in Oklahoma City. (My father was stationed at Will Rogers Army/Air Base) My teacher got the word and burst into tears, then she told us. A powerful impact all these years later.
