But before I go in reverse, trying to fill in the blanks, I know I am not the only person (male and female) on this blog, to think Yes, PBO was extremely handsome (as well as ALRIGHT) in his younger years, but he just continues to grow more incredibly handsome as the years and the weight of office lift him up. I find this quite remarkable, quite remarkable. Oh, and, yes, I love it!!

    Congrats on 1st, Layla!!

What would be surprising is if Tzar Vlad said something that was true ….

““We’re continuing to detect maneuvers by Russian military aviation and equipment and movements by Russian troops near the Ukrainian border as we did before,” the border service reports.

Earlier on Wednesday, May 7, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, after meeting with Didier Burkhalter, the president of Switzerland and OSCE chairman, announced that Russia had withdrawn its troops from the Ukrainian border to their regular training posts.

“We’re constantly being told that our troops near the Ukrainian border have been causing worry. We withdrew them and they are currently not at the Ukrainian border but in locations where they are conducting their regular drills on shooting ranges,” Putin said.”

HEADS UP: First Lady Michelle Obama will be on ABC’s Nashville tonight at 10PM EDT / 9PM CDT.

How did the First Lady get involved with the show?

That was thrilling to get to do. We reached out to them. And they’re so committed to the cause of taking care of veterans and their families that they really jumped at this chance to send a message on primetime television. They are so utterly invested and sincere in this issue that it was kind of a no-brainer that they would be a really good fit. So we went to the White House and Michelle Obama made her address. She’s an absolutely lovely and incredible woman and the whole experience was so wonderful. It’s such an amazing moment, being able to bring this issue to the forefront of our show since country music has always had a very close connection with the military.

Not surprised by this, Bob. People don’t like being dragged backward in time by a far right, tone-deaf SCOTUS majority. Roberts’ agenda seems to be to take the country as far to the right as possible by yanking rights away from individuals and gift-wrapping and delivering them to corporations and the rich. He and his four cronies have no concept of what life is like for people in the real world.

Rasmussen Daily tracking poll for the last 4/5 days? Hmm? 😯 😯 😯

Oddly, the only poll I have trusted since PBO took office has been Rasmussen. It’s gop poll so add a couple points and it was accurate, for 2012 results. This seems to reflect reality, as POTUS is not hated as much as the msm would have us believe. His numbers occasionally go over 50% and when they drop, it’s not dramatic like the dumb gallop polls.

This is from the Hill…..a DC based right leaning rag.

Republicans struggled to land punches against ObamaCare in a hearing Wednesday as responses from insurance companies deflated several lines of questioning.

Democratic lawmakers were emboldened to defend the Affordable Care Act with renewed vigor and levity, creating a dynamic rarely seen in the debate over ObamaCare.

Adding to the irregularity, exits on the Republican side at a subcommittee hearing led by Rep. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.) allowed multiple Democrats to speak in a row and let heavy Democratic criticisms of Republicans go unanswered, a contrast with the heated exchanges of last fall.

The discussion was not always favorable to the healthcare law, as it touched on health plan cancellations, the potential for premium increases in 2015 and problems that still plague the back end of HealthCare.gov.

    • May 7, 2014 at 3:29 pm

Could this polling be attributable to the surprising recent silence from the MSM?

I’ve checked a few twitter timelines from front row jackals (and their ilk) and they seemed bored out of their minds, and aren’t even attempted to tweet anything newsworthy.

MSM is GOP propaganda machine, and the GOP about 25 miles behind Team Obama with not even a scent of a scandal on the Obama Adm, so… they’ve got nothing. Which means the general public haven’t been subject to a barrage of lies about the Obama Adm. recently.

Question to TOD: how do people feel on whether Democrats should boycott the Benghazi committee.

    • 87 Linda
      May 7, 2014 at 3:09 pm

I don’t think they should boycott it at all…..someone has to be there to check the Republican lies.

      • 88 57andfemale
        May 7, 2014 at 3:24 pm

That’s how I feel. We will get zero points for boycotting, and it there will be no push back. I think it’s a very serious mistake to allow them this forum, unabated.

We can’t scream from the Capitol steps. We have to be in there. If they deny Dem’s the right to ask questions, see ‘evidence’, subpoena anyone, then they are on the defensive. Otherwise we ‘legitimize’ it by letting them have the entire stage.

    • 89 donna dem 4 obama
      May 7, 2014 at 3:13 pm

This committee is a farce and everyone knows it. IMO the Dems need to take a unified stand. The Republicans will only do what we allow them to do. The media will go even more negative on the Dems if they stage a protest but I think at some point you need to grow a spine and take a stand. I would have the Dems on the committee attend and once it was called to order I would have each of them walk out and go straight to the press and hold a news conference telling the MSM exactly why they feel this whole exercise is a complete waste of time and taxpayer dollars. In other words telling the Republicans that they can kiss where the sun don’t shine.

      Just my 2cents.

      • 90 GGail
        May 7, 2014 at 3:17 pm

My thoughts as well DD. I think the Dems that are on the committee should definitely show up. How else will the truths be heard – even if it’s only broadcast on c-span. Then they should do like the Repugs – go before the cameras and blast this whole proceeding for what it is…a mindless distraction!

        May 7, 2014 at 3:42 pm

I just don’t think we’ll get the coverage or props if we don’t participate. Imagine the spectacle of this one-sided side show day after day on c-span, with their trumped up ‘evidence’ and their ‘findings’. We need to answer them at every turn. We need to make a spectacle if we are not allowed to call witnesses or look at documents. We need to make them look un-Democratic and purely partisan.

I think in the up-down politcal and journalistic world we live in, we more legitimize them if we give them the entire floor to build a ‘case’ against this administration.

        How can we NOT participate?

Updated 10:18 p.m. | President Barack Obama told the Congressional Hispanic Caucus leadership Thursday evening he’s considering more changes to the enforcement of immigration laws, amid growing unrest among his allies over his deportation record.

“The President emphasized his deep concern about the pain too many families feel from the separation that comes from our broken immigration system,” the White House said in a readout of the meeting. “He told the members that he has asked Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson to do an inventory of the Department’s current practices to see how it can conduct enforcement more humanely within the confines of the law.”

Reuters also has a more detail story…..Copy and Paste from HP.

WASHINGTON, May 6 (Reuters) – Newly proposed rules for highly skilled immigrants to the United States, including a provision to allow their spouses to work, are aimed at making it easier to keep those talented science, technology and engineering workers in the country, officials said on Tuesday.

“These individuals are American families in waiting,” U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker said. “Many tire of waiting for green cards and leave the country to work for our competition. The fact is we have to do more to retain and attract world-class talent to the United States and these regulations put us on a path to do that.”

One of the two proposed regulation changes would allow the spouses of holders of H-1B visas, which are given to workers in fields such as science, technology and engineering, to have jobs in the United States while their spouses’ green card applications are being considered. Spouses of U.S. visaholders currently are not given permission to work.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin prosecutors have appealed a federal judge’s decision to halt the investigation into Gov. Scott Walker’s 2012 recall campaign and conservative groups that supported him.

U.S. District Judge Rudolph T. Randa issued a preliminary injunction Tuesday blocking the probe into whether Walker’s campaign illegally coordinated with those groups about the spending. Randa also ordered prosecutors to destroy all their evidence.

Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm asked the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago to stay the injunction on Wednesday.

Chisholm argued that the order to destroy evidence conflicts is premature and Randa ignored a request for a hearing.
