If the number 7 had ‘ish behind it, you would have the perfect clock. 😎 😉
Congrats vet on #1 🙂 I see you’ve been reading VC’s “How-to-be-first-on-TOD” manual quite diligently – and it’s paying off.
It’s the iPhone ding…see below. It is the only time that I move fast. Chips, TOD and PBO will not wait. everything else is on hold.
🙂 🙂 🙂 You have a *smart* phone.
Yes indeed, once I figured out that I didn’t need to be, it works fine.
Well hello there.
Hello to you too!
Way to step swiftly, Almab!
It’s the iPhone vc and the gentle ding which lets me know that Chips has come calling!
A-ha….so there is a ‘bell’! I never knew that they actually ring, Almab. Of course, were I to get one, each time it dinged I’d probably spend time trying to figure out where the sound originated. 😉
After four+ years, I am now like Pavlov’s dog. It dings, I drop everything and run to see what PBO is doing. My husband is trying to see how he can apply the same principle to his needs.
‘My husband is trying to see how he can apply the same principle to his needs.’
🙂 🙂 🙂 Tell him to try mimicking the same ring tone. 😀
Uhhh..No!
What’s his contact # again? 😀
555-0000 Good luck! I’ll be back Jan 22, 2017
But, will Mr. Almab be waiting patiently til then?
He has patiently sat through these past five years…..what’s two or three more?
vc, no matter how cranky I am you always make me smile.
TY. {{Ab}} It’s nice to know I have a worthy purpose. 😉
You do. I am here every day reading, even when I am not first. We all appreciate the herculean effort from Chips, Nerdy, LL, and all the blog tyrants but everyone contributes in some way.
That’s the beauty of TOD I think – we have our major committed BTs, and then the body of the family. I think what’s good about *our* body is that people have trusted each other, generally speaking, and have allowed themselves to be known.
Amen….
Hey Chips, LL and vetivera. Thanks to everyone for all of the photos, tweets and reminders regarding this trip. MSM certainly has kept us apprised of Kate and William but not so much for PBO.
Aww. So close, yet so far.
Maybe next time – keep trying.
Always 😀
I noticed that since PBO got re-elected, certain folks like Cindy McCain and Meghan McCain just disappeared from the media spotlight. W’happened?
Cindy was mostly in hiding anyways (nothing will convince me that woman isn’t an abused(verbally) wife), but Meghan has thankfully played least in sight. The last I remember of Cindy was when she appeared in the ad about same sex marriage (I think) and made some kind of supportive comment and Johnnie McC (IMO) made her withdraw her comment lickety-split.
Congrats on 1st vetivera!
Appreciate the itinerary, Chips!! 🙂
My message to that fool Cruz ….
If you folks have never frequented Rational Wiki, you really should do so. This is the top News of the World story right now:
Lavrov: Mr. President, the men we put into Novorossiya still aren’t giving up the OSCE observers. *Putin frowns*
Lavrov: And the Americans seem to know where your fortune is. *Putin chokes on Chicken Kiev*
LL your essay was right on the mark. I hope you see this thank you for Sharing.
totally retweetable
Chips, I haven’t even seen Mr. Yardarm today, yet you are trying to cause trouble…
Me?!?!?!
I need to be winding down, not winding up!
‘you are trying to cause trouble…’
You’ve noticed, eh?
Don’t worry Ladies I’m never too far. Naughty mats at the ready, 😆
Yardarm, you can pull mine out now sir
Look under your chair! 😆
very nice pic…..it is time for PBO to come home….
Yeah baby!
“Nonetheless, it is clear that the Administration also has a “glass half full” view of the controversial deal between the two rival Palestinian factions. Gordon told the Jewish representatives that it would be very difficult to achieve a peace agreement with “half a Palestinian entity” and not with those who are under the rule of Hamas. You can’t make peace with only a part of the Palestinian people, Gordon said.
The Administration remains committed to the peace process, Gordon added, but is now adopting a wait and see attitude regarding developments inside the Palestinian camp. The U.S. does not oppose new Palestinian elections, and it will judge any new Palestinian coalition by its deeds, not by its words, he said.
Gordon said that the Administration believes that Abbas’ main motivation for advancing the talks with Hamas was not to achieve a reconciliation but to fortify his own leadership position at a time when Hamas is “on the ropes”, as Gordon phrased it. Abbas seized on an opportunity to strive for an agreement – both with Hamas and with Israel – from a position of strength, Gordon said.”
I am so PROUD of the Honorable President Barack Obama!
I hope he gets a no appearance day soon after arriving home.
{{{{POTUS}}}}
He needs a 24-hr recharge period!
Why haven’t the hands fallen down too? Why only the numbers?
Because there’s a nail in the middle holding the hands? 🙂
If you’re near a TV, turn to HBO because it is airing a fantastic documentary on Ann Richards, Democratic Governor of Texas.
What a power house. Can’t wait for Texas to return back to its blue days.
Loved Ann, and loved her friend Molly Ivins – the former took down Bush I nicely, and the latter went after Shrub, Bush II.
It’s awake!!!!
of course, it is. it’s not a frickin’ rock.
So which is your football team du jour now that Liverpool is reeling?
It was a cowardly “win” for blues.
Now go, man c.
LOL!!!!!
🙂
Just a warning, if you read the Forbes article, be prepared for a big dose of derp panting for yet another mindless, and likely in this case, apocalyptic war.
While Putin and Hitler’s megalomania and actions have historical parallels, the world of Hitler and the world of today are vastly different. You can quickly detect a fool, or a #NEONCONSTER, by their evidencing not even the slightest clue to the differences.

Is there a chance this is on U-tube?
Don’t know Yard…I saw this in a tweet…found it interesting
I would love to see what those individuals had to say.
I was surprised to see topic at a forum….I will look around and see what I can find
‘preciate it.
could not find a video…perhaps JER video guru can…but here is more from the article…

Hey West Coast people, when Maddow comes on at 9PM on the East Coast does it come on at the same time for you guys at 6PM PDT?
Yes, it does.
Yes……..
ROFL!!!!!!
Aren’t you going to cut them some slack (snicker. snicker. hooohooo hoot). You know they were being satirical. teeheehee! smother.
That protest was months ago…….
Still funny 😉
go gunners.
🙄
Oh, I finally saw Brendan Rogers’ post-match interview. What a whiny little baby. “That’s not the way we play, we play with creativity, Jose can show me his CV but it doesn’t matter”, wah wah wah. Yes, Brendan, Jose has a CV and you, well, don’t. Hell, if it’s a choice between MCFC and LFC I’ll pull for City.
I was feeling very alone on planet earth yesterday in my loathing of Rogers, now we are one. He’s a ridiculous dick, an ego maniac who thought he was Shankly – 🙄 – I would give ANYTHING for his team not to win the league. But I have a sinking feeling they’ll still do it 😥
You’re back to the Gunners? Jesus on toast, man!
“For more than thirty years in the United States Senate, I didn’t just speak words in support of Israel, I walked the walk when it came time to vote and when it came time to fight. As Secretary of State, I have spent countless hours working with Prime Minister Netanyahu and Justice Minister Livni because I believe in the kind of future that Israel not only wants, but Israel deserves. I want to see a two state solution that results in a secure Jewish state and a prosperous Palestinian state, and I’ve actually worked for it.
I will not allow my commitment to Israel to be questioned by anyone, particularly for partisan, political purposes, so I want to be crystal clear about what I believe and what I don’t believe.

VC, it makes me angry that the best SOS in decades and a decent and honorable man has to defend himself against the slander of slimeball Cruz, who isn’t fit to clean Kerry’s shoes. People who bear none of the risk, do none of the work and have the least understanding always think they can speak the loudest and throw the most mud.
Is the World going to stand for Egypt executing almost 700 of its own people….many of whom is the opposition!
I was already feeling very protective of PBO and worrying about how tired he and his team must be feeling by now;
but then the photo included above reinforced to me how exhausted he must be – yes it is an earlier photo but it captures the mood;
I am almost tempted to start one of those White House petitions requesting that PBO takes some rest – not that he would agree;
and isn’t Dr. Angela Merkel coming to meet with PBO?
the worst part is the crappy congress back in town to cause more headaches!!!!
Global, I read during the 2008 campaign that PBO has learned to refresh himself with catnaps, which I’m sure he takes regularly once he enters AF1. When he turns around after waving goodbye at the top of the steps, I assume he takes time to chill out a little and restore his energy. That’s what I’ve always hoped was true.
probably true about the naps!
but also don’t forget Mr. Jon Favs’ talk in Dublin this St Patrick’s Day in which he confessed that PBO and his speech-writing team are usually re-working the scripts of his speeches during the AF1 rides (sometimes until PBO is just about to step on the stage)

LL. Thanks for your piece on the previous post. It’s too bad that ours can’t see what you do. The real freedom is freedom from fear.
Wow, LL, that’s a fantastic discovery. I hope we hear more about it.

I remember reading an interview with him during the 2008 campaign, and he was asked about sleeping and how was he able to get rest with all he had to do and the excitement, and the planning, and the never ending decisions. He said that he had “learned” to sleep when he had the chance and when he needed to. He had learned to clear his mind, relax, and he just slept. I think of this when he’s on these long trips. I also know he has a good quiet bedroom on Air Force One. I know he has work to do, but he is incredibly disciplined, and knows he must be rested and ready for anything, (including Ed Henry).
Interesting how all of us here care for him and his health and rest. I think he will come back rejuvenated from this trip, knowing that our Pacific relationships are stronger than ever.
Great job, Mr. President! Bravo!
Thank Carolyn that is good to know of PBO. I know for me if I have a lot of worry, insomnia and too much going on I can’t think clearly. I wish I could learn to clear my mind and sleep.
Working tomorrow and want to do a bit of reading before settling down, so ‘toodle-di-doo for now’!
BTW, if you have the stomach for it, Peter Clifford continues to compile more facts ‘on the ground’ in Syria than any other repository (English language) http://www.petercliffordonline.com/syria-news-3
This is full scale civil war and nothing you are going to read or view is pleasant. Just know that irrespective of all Iran, Russia and Hezbollah are providing Assad, he will never win. How many decades it takes to rebuild Syria is an open question.
Just read the smackdown of that moron ed henry and his gop neocon masters. Perfect schooling indeed.
In the 1980s Rubik’s Cubes seemed to be everywhere, but there are still legions of people obsessed with the coloured puzzles.

You had fun posting that. Didn’t ya? 🙂
Yup. Sure did. The Lord was right too! 🙂
Ha! The Lord’s always right.
You okay over there? Weather reports are saying your county is getting hit pretty hard.
Duh. Mine? I should check the weather channel. Nothing happening in my immediate area at the moment.
Yeah. Something about the wind turning over some rail cars in peoria county?
Hmmm … just missed local weather and TWC’s covering the AL tornado … but will keep watching or go online. Thanks. Hope we’re not in “the calm before the storm.” No winds here now.
Nothing going on in your area, I hope.
Lost power at 2200 for about 5 minutes. Other than that, nada.
Wow. But I’m glad it was only 5 mins. Hate when the power goes out!!!!
Yeah. It sucks whe you’re on the toilet.
Thanks for sharing.
Ha!
DMI.
Or TMI. 🙂
Found it:

I told ya so. 😉
Yep. Did ya also see today about the talk on enhancement of our military presence in Manila (not permanent, but enhanced)? You called some of that last night, too. What’s a good # to play the lottery? 🙂
425 box it. Those 3 digits hit about once a month.
Whoa. Thanks!
Did you notice that Subic Bay is gonna be one of the area’s? Don’t be fooled by the agreement language either. You can bet we’ll have units there that can operate independently.
Yes, I was looking at the talk of the agreements with a jaded eye, because you’d put the thought in my head. Love how Pres. Obama gets things done. Of course, they’ve all been working on this stuff for a long time; people just think it’s all new talks while he’s there. (People are dumb.) He’s there to cement the ongoing negotiations. Love it!
Bob, when you tweet & comment like this – you make me so proud you’re here at TOD!!!
We think alike 🙂 – I said that on the next thread
