LOL! NY Times is too sleek n cute by a half. Read between the lines. Caroline said she would absolutely support Clinton IF she decides to run for President in 2016. Notice that Caroline did not say that she wants Clinton to run, or that she believes Clinton should/will run….A lot of unknowns in that equation.
I have a nagging suspicion that Hillary will not run in 2016, and if she does, she won’t be the DEM nominee.
Oh hopefruit, as I said at the end of the last thread—we are probably mixing up hopes dreams and probabilities.
But it sure is tempting to see the furor over Hillary as a tactical move of some kind.

Indeed Vicki. If history in the last few Presidential elections have taught us anything, it’s that coronation almost never works. Just ask HRC in 2008, McCain in 2008, and Romney in 2012.
Yup. The inevitability thing rubs many people the wrong way. No one is irreplaceable in this world. If she is as smart as claimed to be, she should categorically come out and say that it irrelevant to talk about 2016 now and she will be focusing on getting dems elected in 2014. So far, I haven’t seen it.

I don’t trust “Gravis” polling which almost always skews right. However, unless their internal polling suggests the opposite, Ms. Grimes & her campaign mgr might want to reassess her strategy. Running away from PBO and his policies while embracing ’90s Clinton as “The President” is NOT the answer for winning the Senate in 2014 – even in a “Red” state like Kentucky.
Gravis is a GOP pollster, was a joke in the last election. I don’t see the point of posting their polls here.

There is another one today…..Mason-Dixon or something, a rightie poll, has McConnell at 42% and Grimes at 42% with 10 or 12% undecided and 6% with Zero opinion.
Note that these polls are out now after the earlier polls said the opposite.
As we’ve all been saying at TOD the key to Allison Grimes having a victory is for her to drop the centrist approach and heartily procalim the Obamacare ACA victory in Kentucky.

What pisses me off the most about this Hillary coronation thing is that in the lead up to 2012 every goddamn blog, fish wrap and son-of-a-bitch that hosted a podcast wanted so badly for President Obama to face a Democratic primary challenger. But now it seems as though these same entities want everybody to roll over and play dead and let Hillary waltz away with the Democratic nomination.
What pisses me off, Don, is that with her grandchild announcement stepping on the ACA 8 million message it seems to me that Hillary wants not only to win but also for President Obama to be seen to have lost.

“Meet The Press” host David Gregory dismissed a report that said NBC hired a psychological consultant to interview his friends and family in hopes of turning around the news program’s flagging ratings.
“There was never any psychological consultant hired, that’s utter fiction. That’s gossip reporting gone wild,” Gregory said Friday in an appearance on Washington, DC radio station WTOP.
The Washington Post reported on Monday that the psychological consultant was commissioned to “to get perspective and insight from people who know him best.” The network spokeswoman quoted by the Post later disputed that information and said NBC had brought on a “brand consultant.”
Gregory told WTOP that NBC got branding and marketing experts to “talk to me and others around me to really think about my strengths and ‘Meet The Press’ strengths and try to amplify those.”
“Again the idea of psychological counseling or testing is complete fiction and has been kind of a runaway train,” he added.
See David, if this is true…it is not much fun when people lie about you…right….
He has worked at NBC for 20 years…..One would think they would know his ” strengths ” by now.
That’s the point, they cannot find any so they have to pay someone to find some!

It’s interesting how this Bundy thing has played out. Very smartly, the BLM didn’t get into an armed fight with these jerks. On purpose or accidentally the strategy has been good. Bundy has shown himself to be what he is, people have deserted him, and now whatever action the government takes, Bundy won’t be a martyr, which a week ago he would have been.

SEC Joins Manhattan DA to Probe Christieās Diversion of Port Authority Funds
“The Securities and Exchange Commission has joined with the Manhattan District Attorneyās office to investigate possible misuse of Port Authority of New York and New Jersey funds by Gov. Chris Christie and his allies, people close to the matter said.
Two SEC Enforcement Division lawyers in the New York regional office are examining the manner by which the Christie administration apparently steamrolled the agencyās top in-house counsel into creating a legal justification in 2011 allowing the New Jersey governor to grab $1.8 billion of Port Authority tax-exempt bonds to fix the aging Pulaski Skyway bridge and other neglected state roadways.
By re-routing the Port Authority funds to local New Jersey roadway repairs, Christie, who took office in 2010, was able to keep a campaign promise not to raise taxes. The diversion of funds allowed him to avoid raising gasoline taxes to refill the depleted coffers of the stateās transportation trust fund.”

First the South Carolina Bar Association and now the American Bar Association is criticizing a Republican Governors Association ad that targets state Sen. Vincent Sheheen, the presumptive Democratic nominee for governor in South Carolina, for his work as a criminal defense attorney.
In a letter to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), who is chairman of the Republican Governors Association, the lawyers group argues that the ad, which attacks Sheheen for representing violent criminals, sends the wrong message about defense attorneys. Sheheen is challenging Republican Gov. Nikki Haley. The ABA stops short of asking Christie to pull the ad.
