    So, to re-cap today’s news:
ACA Paid signups-more than 7.1 million. Total sign-ups 7.6 and growing
Obamacare savings over time over 1 Billion Dollars
And the Deficit has dropped to 1/2 of where it was and maybe it will be gone by the end of PBO’s presidency.

Winning! is our message. Winning team with a great President and his winning ideas and winning team.

No wonder the megaphone for RW gets bigger and bigger and the NY Times (except for Paul Krugman) has yet to do an accurate story on ACA.
GOP/MSM got nothing to say or run on except of course racism/hate.

The Obamacare savings over time – you talking about the CBO report? That’s 100 Billion Dollars through 2024, baby!

Vicki–Have you written to the DNC with your ‘winning’ message because it needs to be picked up nationally and repeated continually. It frustrates me to hear so many Dems indicate their concerns about losing, as if Nate Silver had put some kind of hex on the election. (And if I see one more fundraising appeal that starts with Silver’s name, I’m going to scream.) Let’s all stop doubting and start affirming. We have great accomplishments to run on and the Rs have nothing and all the megaphones in the world can’t turn nothing into something.

Jackiegrumbacher, your words are always presented with so much grace and wisdom. Thank you, jackieG.

“Let’s all stop doubting and start affirming.” So true, jackiegrumbacher. And thank you for reminding us as our hearts are in so many places of doubting because of the constant framing of the message by the opposition and even those within our own party who are still in their bedroom slippers waiting for the president to come and wake them up from their long and deep sleep.

I shout out with fierce conversations with myself so many hours of the day when thoughts just causes me to want to ‘holler’ as the Dems just keep moving as though they are in a deep sleep and will not get up and move with our president and those of us who are already in our boots. Ready to march FORWARD with this wonderful and brilliant man.

So thanks, jackiegrumbacher for your words of wisdom.HZ

US Airways is not having a good day. Their PR team is going to be working overtime. In the era of social media, you do not treat your customers this way. Word spreads quicker.

    • April 14, 2014 at 4:00 pm

Just saw the image Nerdy, oooooh, someone is already looking for a new job.

      • 42 Nerdy Wonka
        April 14, 2014 at 4:04 pm

Can you believe they tweeted that out to a customer? And I believe the person is a female customer. In 2014, with Twitter, Facebook, etc. you put that up in public and not expect backlash?

That is potential grounds for a lawsuit because that is a form of harassment. Graphic abuse.

So dumb….so dumb….dumb….dumb. As you said, someone is already looking for a new job.

        • April 14, 2014 at 4:18 pm

The first time I flew to Las Vegas to attend a Fortran Standardization Committee meeting, I (by chance – they were the cheapest) used US Airways (this was fifteen years ago). Unfortunately, I mentioned this to the other committee members. One shot back – immediately: Oh, you mean *US Scairways*.

          Enuf said.

        April 14, 2014 at 6:04 pm

That image doesn’t need to be on this page either. I don’t know anything about this company, but I’d be willing to bet that USAirways as a entity had Nothing to do with that. That is a no brainer. WHO in fact would EVER send such an image to ANYONE, and for what reason? You’d have to be the most perverse person to think up such an image, pose for such a picture, take such a picture and/or especially allow yourself to be photographed in such a way–AND have your face stuck in the picture.

My question. What does USAirways have to do with the President speaking at the Easter Prayer Breakfast in the first place??? THAT’s what I came to this page to read about. Not to view the worst kind of porn.

Why do I have a feeling that whoever posted that here didn’t have the best motives, since this “image” is WAY off topic, and disrespects what is usually a frank (not prudish), but positive page?

And before anybody says “you had a choice in viewing that page”. That’s true, but I honestly did not expect to see THAT. In my estimation it is Highly unlikely that Anyone could think A multimillion dollar company would be responsible for such an image.

        We’re being had.

        • April 14, 2014 at 6:18 pm

The top half of a thumbnail of the image is in a tweet on this page, Virginia, the more offensive half isn’t – so, if you saw the full image you chose to click a link that said “one of the most graphic things you’ve ever seen a brand tweet”.

So, who’s at fault for you seeing it?

          Well, you.

You clearly aren’t familiar with TOD – we chat about everything in threads. If you don’t like that, you’re more than welcome not to come back.

          Good day.

A 5-year old on Saturday accidentally shot and killed a 7-year-old and injured a 5-year old at a Gaston, S.C. birthday party, police told WOLO TV.

The child accidentally took a loaded rifle from the trunk of a car while looking for a toy gun that was also in the vehicle, according to investigators.

    • 97 57andfemale
      April 14, 2014 at 5:46 pm

Are there no laws that at least hold people accountable?!?!?! Someone can run into the pharmacy to pick up a prescription and lose her children for child endangerment, but a gun – nothing. Nada. At the very least there should be liability insurance REQUIRED and criminal penalties if your child has access to your gun.

We are goint effing, batshit crazy in this country.

Thanks again, Bill Clinton, for deregulating the media. Thanks a lot.

LL may have seen GG/Poitras’ Pulitzer coming, but this award really frosts my poptarts (as Lynn, I believe, is fond of saying).

Bestowing this honor on two narcissists who lack a shred of talent is a slap in the face to all true journalists.

Neither of them even had to pick up a phone (except to call each other).

    They were “expecting” this award.

Here’s how @nycjim made the announcement.

    Here’s my response:

    • April 14, 2014 at 5:45 pm

Posted over the weekend, but to American troops, Poitras is worse than “Hanoi Jane” (Fonda), whom the RWNJ haven’t forgiven after 45 years.

Apparently Poitras lived with someone who had knowledge of an ambush against US troops in Iraq and she seized the opportunity to capture the troops heading off into harms way on video.

She and GG need to be exposed for the truly awful people they are and who should remain banished from our shores.

I’ve been seeing this crap recently from people in the media. He’s been an African-American President since 2009 but now that one success after another is rolling in faster than one can say Jack, he’s white. White, I tells ya. He wasn’t white when the media gave the birthers legitimacy and he had to show his birth certificate but he’s white when ObamaCare crushed the deadline and signed up 7.5M people and counting.

That was another piece in Jonathan Chait’s offensive race article that made people mad. He refused to acknowledge and instead glossed over the vile racism President Obama faces, but decided to tell us that we should just pipe down until the next white president comes along and America will be fine again. He essentially boiled it down to racism? Pfftt….I’m just waiting for a white president so I don’t have to worry my pretty head about realities faced by minorities.

By 2017, when ObamaCare is passing the 30M+ mark, when immigration reform has been done, when a budget surplus is tallied, etc they won’t just declare President Obama white, nooooooo…they’ll declare him beige, ecru, eggshell, linen, chiffon, lily, vanilla, cream, etc.

      *rolls eyes*

      • April 14, 2014 at 7:14 pm

—> “I’m just waiting for a white president so I don’t have to worry my pretty head about realities faced by minorities.”

And that, to me, was precisely the message from Chait’s piece. Poor pet has a headache trying to figure it all out. As everyone said, that he didn’t even mention the birth cert business, in a piece on this issue, was beyond extraordinary. And so telling.

And now we have this pile of shit from Cillizza, the worthless shill, based on that ridiculous Pew poll.

The more successful they have to concede PBO to be, the whiter they have to make him.

        Says it all.

While I was sleeping – someone posted a link to TPM related to a resignation from the Port Authority. I went to the WSJ link via TPM and found this little dozy

“Related Video: Port Authority commissioner Anthony Sartor resigned Monday. In video from a 2011 meeting, he discusses two contracts related to World Trade Center redevelopment; meeting minutes indicate he did not participate in the talks. WSJ’s Eliot Brown reports.”

So the minutes say he “didn’t participate” – i.e. he was not there – but the video shows him discussing the contracts. And who wrote the minutes? Another resignation due?

Walmart and the Walton family receive tax breaks and taxpayer subsidies estimated at
more than $7.8 billion a year – that is enough money to hire 105,000 new public school
teachers [See Table 1 for state breakdown].

The annual subsidies and tax breaks to Walmart and the Waltons include the following:
      • Walmart receives an estimated $6.2 billion annually in mostly federal taxpayer
subsidies. The reason: Walmart pays its employees so little that many of them rely
on food stamps, health care and other taxpayer-funded programs. [See Table 2 for
      state breakdown]

      • Walmart avoids an estimated $1 billion in federal taxes each year. The reason:
Walmart uses tax breaks and loopholes, including a strategy known as accelerated
depreciation that allows it to write off capital investments considerably faster than
      the assets actually wear out.
