This will be another speech for the ages. Luckily, with President Obama at the podium, that is not hyperbole.

This is what I was talking about yesterday, all this GOP wave in 2014 is wish projection by the msm/gop. Facts on the ground have no impact on the pro-gop cheerleading. Outside the racists, who exactly approves of the GOP’s politics before country antics?

I’ve been saying it over and over again. There is no GOP wave, it looks like the democrats have a great chance to hold the senate, and win a whole bunch of governor seats.

      WOW !

Is the tide turning ? If so, it will be really “interesting” to watch republicans totally lose it ! They have NOTHING except fear, and misinformation ! The more desperate they become, the more mistakes they will make !

gosh, no wonder republicans in red states and swing states are doing their best to block the vote of democratic constituencies. Their internal numbers must be … shall we say… not very good ?

I imagine FLOTUS is glad to be inside, that wind is terrible. But as usual FLOTUS handle it with class, with alittle help from POTUS. 🙂

David “The Admiral” Robinson is an incredibly gracious and kind man! I had the honor of meeting him a few times when I lived in San Antonio. Amazing basketball player, wonderful person and a Democrat, to boot!

The United Auto Workers on Wednesday subpoenaed Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) and Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam (R), along with 18 other officials, for the union’s challenge of the Chattanooga, Tenn. Volkswagen plant workers’ vote to reject unionization, the Associated Press reported.

The subpoenas ask for written correspondence pertaining to the union in the leading up to the vote, according to the AP.

Howdy all you O’s!!!! What a great getting up day in TODville again!!!! So should I adjust my PC, or my eyes? There’s this little white box that I’m typing in. That’ll teach me to leave TODdytown for a few days.

I can’t wait to hear what is bound to be another great speech by our guy. If John Lewis’ intro is any indication, then it’s going to be a wonderful tribute.

I’m going to cry through the President’s entire remarks. I was a teenager, like so many of us, 50 years ago, and I remember those dark days as though they were yesterday.

Today, I wish the audience had given the President a 10-minute standing ovation, and maybe if he weren’t so humble by quieting them, they would have. If we can’t love President Obama JUST FOR THE CONTENT OF HIS CHARACTER, I don’t know whom we can love. I just don’t know.

I’m sick of the freaking color wheel upon which we base all of our discourse and decision-making in this country. But, staring at the brilliant President we elected TWICE, I must have hope that when my great grandchildren are my age, they will only read about such things in the history books.

Tomorrow is another day. Maybe some day we’ll get it all right. Maybe tomorrow. Back to listening I go.

“If we can’t love President Obama JUST FOR THE CONTENT OF HIS CHARACTER, I don’t know whom we can love. I just don’t know.”

JOB, I share your sentiments. Like you, I was a teenager in those “dark days” and I grateful to how far we have come as a nation. But distresses me is the increasing voices, some of them quite powerful, of those who want to take us back to those “dark days.”

Millions of other voices, hopefully, will come together and stop them! We aren’t going back. We’re taking history FORWARD!!!!!

That’s going to be a tough one. I’d have been interested in seeing him doing traditional late-night network show in his right-wing Colbert character so those audiences are exposed to the mess the GOP is perpetrating around the country.

Sorry to insert sadness after PBO’s inspiring speech——–but I have to. This is so heartbreaking——look at this adorable little girl who lost her life yesterday when some out of control convicted felon, with a long history of arrests, rammed a car off the road and into the pre-school where little 4 yr. old Lily was innocently sitting at a table waiting for her afternoon snack. Her mother’s comments are just penetrating, about Lily’s personality, how she loved her school and her teachers, about how her 7 yr. old brother said he is going to build a time machine to bring his sister back. As a mom and grandmom I just cannot imagine the anguish.

So Andrew Young is now proposing Photo ID on our SS? For the Love of Humanity, I have been calling for this since the 1990s. I wrote about it in many comments at the D’Kos and everywhere when possible. I was severely attack for being unAmerican.

The Uniformity of an ID that is already there Our SS numbers with an picture renewed every 10 yrs after 18yrs……well Updated Photos and every 5 yrs before that for growing Up is an ever changing evolution. This will help with address and married name changes. This stops the obvious TBGOPers Voter suppression. That Goodness. Now I wish the Dems will adopt that and using the Rights to Vote to make that a reality for all with SS numbers are Citizen…….Some are with SS ID for work permits.

Another great speech from our President. He recognizes and acknowledges that he is standing on the shoulders
of Giants who marched, bled and died to bring us all to the point we are at today. I love how he is aware and comfortable
with the broad sweep of history. He truly is the one called to be the current relay swimmer in the currents of history.
Thankful every day for our PBO and FLOTUS
