I already feel so sheepish. Have used teh google and tried several times, but it doesn’t want to go anywhere true. It came to my FB page, as I like the Amazing Things in the World website. Of course, as FB owns everysingleeffingpicandnotewepost, it does not allow me to simply cut and paste as a reasonable, rational site would allow. But this is a meaningful post, and I don’t wish to sully it!! (I’ll take another of those boans, tho, no wonder Danny likes them)! 🙂

MSNBC is covering the AG’s comments before Congress and the NAN event, centering on “You don’t want to go there, buddy.” Ari whatshisname was heading in the right direction, but, of course, he brought on retired white guy Barney Frank to talk about it. Barney’s not one of my favorites but, nevertheless, did a good job, talked around it for a bit but ended up saying Eric Holder did exactly the right thing speaking up at the hearing, and then – on a broader topic – he called Issa a thug. He said by “thug,” he meant Issa has no respect for the truth, is a bully, uses authority and tactics in an inappropriate way, especially by turning off the mic on Rep. Cummings. No shit, Sherlock.

Hey Mrs. O’Boomer, I am happy that they covered this again today. The “asparagus” comment at the end was impressive; especially because AG Holder had the last word.

          April 9, 2014 at 11:52 pm

Good Evening jacquelineoboomer. AG Holder’s comments about the ‘asparagus” was one to behold. The entire hearing is on C-SPAN.

However, I do appreciate AG Holder’s comment as he spoke to Rev. Al’s organization today was perfectly in order and also needed to be repeated. It is the total disrespect that these evil fools have taken starting with the office of the Presidency and this particular president for sure and this AG is tiring now. They both have had Enough of this disrespect crap from these haters.

I have a personal situation concerning the most precious human being left on this earth in my life where similar crap tries to enter into that person’s space all the time. This person is brilliant and patient, but do not cross the line too many times with him. He also has a very high profile position in a very high level professional and this same type of crap is played out on him. But we come from a very strong and steady bloodline. However, this crap gets old and it should not be tolerated in anyone’s space and profession no matter how high profile the person may be or the color of their skin. It is all about the ‘little black boy’ attitude, and feeling that the ‘little black boy’ has to take this shit. No more. We are tired of it and we will be speaking out more and more about it. Hell, no one gave AG and POB anything. These brilliant men worked hard to get where they are and should be treated with total respect. Many of us who have precious family and friends who have to face this shit everyday are tired of it and we are not going to take it anymore.

POB cannot speak out about it all of the time, but there are those of us who will speak on his behalf and AG Holder’s behalf. Believe me, we are on it. In fact, our beautiful TOD family is speaking out daily. However, I am so happy that AG Holder could share with the National Action Network because the setting was perfect and the people love him and especially being that AG Holder’s sister-in-law went through this shit and made history giving all that she could give for the fight in the Civil Rights Movement. And now in 2014, these evil fools think the AG and President are going to continue to sit and not defend themselves in an appropriate manner. I love my president and I love my AG Holder. And Mrs. Sharon Holder is very, very special to me.HZ

Mighty Pamela noted on the previous thread that she had received a letter from Paul Ryan. We have been getting slick mailers for Republicans (or, rather, against Democrats) several times a week. I’ve started looking into them a bit. Yesterday we received an 8″x10″ full color mailer (expensive!) with big headlines noting “Ron Kind & Barack Obama Cut $176 Billion From Medicare”. The return address was YG Network (Alexandria, VA). YG stands for Young Guns and there is information on their web-site about the Young Guns (Cantor, etc.). They are a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization that was created by a former staffer of Cantor’s. They spent $10 million last year (that info from Open Secrets). OS also notes that the organization’s president/director received a salary of $630,000 for working 30 hours per week in 2012. I could find no information about where there income came from.

It might be beneficial if we TOD’ers began to keep a record this voting year of the kinds of literature we’re receiving and try to figure out who we’re actually receiving them from. Information can be ammunition.

Can do. Ryan’s junk mail comes from his hq in Wisconsin. It has a vibe as if he is gearing up to make a run for 2016. He mentions no other congress members or GOP players. We can only hope he will be run out of DC and Wisconsin when 2016 rolls around. He sickens me.

‘keep a record this voting year of the kinds of literature we’re receiving and try to figure out who we’re actually receiving them from.’

I like this, Pickle. As well, maybe we could/should share the info with outlets that might use it. For example… @American_Bridge or americanbridgepac.org . If I remember correctly they did some good ads for Dems last election season.

They’re pushing Maddow’s Iraq feature on MSNBC that says it was all about oil. A LOT OF TRUTH to that and it’s a decent piece. But how many here KNOW that a major, MAJOR factor in getting us into that disaster and all the death and destruction was shrub’s DADDY ISSUES? They didn’t touch on it. Too radioactive, I guess.

Anyway, Big Mama Bush has already said her boy jeb is not going to run. Hoping her matriarchal stick carries a lot of weight with it. I think the old man really does genuinely see President Obama as the only person on earth who could have pulled us out of the mess he and little w left us in.

        • 44 Lovepolitics2008
          April 9, 2014 at 10:12 pm

I think George Herbert Walker Bush has enough intellect and common sense to be able to see President Obama for what he is: a man of exceptional character and a statesman in every sense of the word. President Bush Sr. may have had a totally different political philosophy, and may subscribe to the follies of trickle-down economics, but he’s less radical and delusional than his whole party.

            April 9, 2014 at 10:14 pm

Yes, that’s why I revised my initial comment. Maybe some Jeb-supporting political operatives might see this as an “opportunity.”

But I think Poppy himself has different motivations, which are more consistent with his general disposition toward PBO. 🙂

I think the look on both PBO and MO’s faces speak volumes, as they descend the steps from AF1. They seem surprised and delighted to see daddy bush there in his wheelchair, and Michelle is leaning down to kiss him, which I’m sure pleased the old man greatly! Do you think it’s really possible it was kept as a surprise, and Poppa wanted it that way?

      April 10, 2014 at 12:10 am

Hey my dear amk, you are so right. That does say a lot about their loving the service men and women all the while trying to blame POB for the backlogs of our veterans benefits. Do they really think that this back log started at the beginning of POB’s term. We know W., and his crew did not take care of business. That has to be in the equation. POB knows what they are trying to place on his plate. He has done more for our military men and women than any of these scumbags. And remember POB did not start any of these wars. It has been years since our veterans have been treated properly by their CIC. President Obama has been one of the best to look out for our military with honor and decency. HZ

He hates undocumented workers (especially those from Mexico.) Our Governor is not as popular with Democrats this time. He supports fracking. POTUS always looks more at ease when Michelle is with him. Today was difficult at Fort Hood, but his “rock” was there so it was better for him. They support each other so beautifully. He is absolutely the best president of my life. How many times have I said that?
Glad he’s speaking at the Voting Rights bill celebration. This is necessary to bring this event to the forefront right now. Republicans need to be reminded again and again and again, and so does the voting public…..and the state of Ohio, and N. Carolina, and Texas, and, and, and…..

Hi Carolyn. I am right there with you. You can say it as many times as you like. It is the truth.
This is a great course that our AG and POTUS are taking to make sure a great and strong frame is placed around this entire Voting Rights Bill.

POB out there, AG Holder out there and so many others will hopefully set the table for the voters to get behind us and help us spread the word to the young people and those who are working with NAN and other groups in group participation in FL, Texas, NC, Ohio, GA., South Carolina, and others on the list. They have reached out to thousands of young attorneys, businessmen and businesswomen, churches, and colleges to help us. It is going to be hard work, but things are moving according to my source. No, I am not Howard Fineman.

This is a movement for the twenty-first century. The young people are getting it. We have one group of professors and other educators sharing the greatness of the movements that Dr. King lead, and are now putting the history on this movement so these young people coming in to help will have a solid ground to march on. It is exciting. Say a positive thought for Rev. Al and all of the Civil Rights groups that are participating and trying to spread the work that we must get done before Nov., and even thereafter. Thank for allowing me to share, TOD family. HZ

Pray for our president. His heart is heavy, but his rock is right there beside him. We just need to remember to pray for him or lift him up with your private way of keeping his back. I will never tell anyone how to use their time toward our beautiful president, but he often ask for our prayers, and I personally know that he does appreciates all of them and all that we do to help him. Our beautiful First Lady appreciates our thoughts and prayers as well. She is a solid rock for our president. Thank you all, my loving Chips and TOD family.

Lots of love to Gobrooklyn, tnmtgirl, CarolMae, MightyPamela, Layla, Fred, Yardarm, Vc, and all of our loving family here. Oh, I passed my dental appointment. Next cleaning in Aug. Please pray for me also. I am having moments when I just break down because of my very close friend passing. I just cannot believe that she is gone. Her brother and sister-in- law are having taking it hard as well. She had just turned sixty-four and in two week, she was gone. Had not retired yet. Remember to tell your love ones that you love them, and enjoy everyday that you wake up and see that you are above the green grass. And then just keep stepping with grace over that green grass and be grateful to live with such love, beautiful thoughts, laughing with pleasure, and helping others who might need a little help.

I love you all so much, and you all give me so much joy, love, workable ideas to help our president, and just being a great family. Thank you Chips for your sweet but firm spirit. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{ Hug my Danny }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}HZ

They just want someone who’ll kiss the right butts, tow the party line and avoid fresh embarrassment. To them, if he gets approval from the money people, any screw ups in previous campaigns “never happened.” Watch how many retread candidates

        Unlikely a new “interest” for

He left on the day of the shooting, presumably that morning.

Secret Service Agents Reassigned After Incidents

The Secret Service has reassigned agents from its special operations division, including the top agent there, after a pair of embarrassing incidents earlier this year.

The division has also changed the rules about when agents are allowed to drink before duty and on presidential trips.

Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said the division’s special agent in charge, Dan Donahue, was reassigned to another division.

The Washington Post first reported the changes Tuesday night.

The Secret Service says that in addition to transferring agents from special operations division, anyone assigned to the unit is barred from drinking within 12 hours of starting a shift. They also are not allowed to drink within 24 hours of a president’s arrival on a trip.

Inadequate, they shouldnt be drinking at all when doing advance work for a presidential trip… period!
That guy got sloppy knockdown drunk. Agents arrive for advance duty more than 24 hrs ahead of time. You think somebody plotting to do something bad wouldn’t be checking for vulnerabilities in security more than 24 hrs ahead of time? WTH!

      • April 9, 2014 at 10:50 pm

Considering the fact that drinking for some of these guys appears to be associated with blackouts, letting all kinds of people have access to their room, sensitive security information & passes, I agree.

I follow his commentary each day:

“The majority of Donetsk residents – 65.7% want to live in a united Ukraine. Only 18.2% of the residents intend to get stuck with Russian and become the loyal subjects of Putin.

This is evidenced by the results of the social poll conducted by the Institute for Social Research and Political Analysis, which was initiated by the Coalition of public organizations of Donetsk.

There is no comment. If the number of “Putin’s fans” is so low in the separatist nest of Donetsk, then what does this say about other Ukrainian cities? Only a very stupid or a very sneaky and hypocritical person can tell fables that our East is seeking in unison to become part of the Russian Federation.”
