    Good Morning again, CC! A question for you just popped into my head – why are we expected to ‘shine’ on a weekend morning? Isn’t it enough that we rise? Inquiring mind popped that into my active thought line – you know, like my TL on twitter. 😉 😉 🙂

    Morning everyone!! Happy Saturday….thought one of you wonderful BT’s would post this for all to see:

    In fact, the entire thing should be read….thank you Harry Reid for bringing the vampires out into the light!

    To continue earlier entry:
    We are the Winning Team.
    It is Our President who brings out the enthusiatic cheering crowds in his Eight Year on the national and International Stage!!!!

    Undimmed enthusiasm and support.
    What began in February 2007 is alive and well today.

    And what a great ride it has been.
    Solid game changing accomplishment good for the vast majority of the American people.

    It is the Winning Presence and Winning Message that NBC CBS and ABC want to supress.
    We will go around them and continue to win.

    Allison Grimes has Bill Clinton who she refers to as The President and says she needs no other help. She is confused. And Wrong.
    We stand with Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear and PBO and praise Ms. Grimes whether she welcomes us or not and we add her and Kentucky to our Winning team.

    Repeat wherever we have confused Democrats. Or Democrats like Steve Israel who think that “Fixing the ACA” makes sense in the actual universe we are living in—-not the DC Media fog.

    Run strong and drown out the doubters and GOP.

    Now I am truly done.

    just like a number of people expressed on the previous thread, I used to religiously tune into Maddow but I now watch specific segments that others recommend;

    I used to appreciate when she brings information that is important and others had not covered (case in point is the focus she placed on how effective PBO has been on following through with the Nuclear Disarmament and tracing loose nuclear weapons as PBO mentioned in his historic speech in Prague);

    She turned me off when she seemed to loose basic reasoning and focused more energy on following the unreasonable left and beltway as they focused more and more of their anger on PBO rather than the gop;

    I remember the shock I felt at Maddow trying to :

    – demean (in a segment which she re-created the Oval Office and “TOLD” PBO what he “should have said” )

    – relentlessly attacking PBO (on everything almost same way as fox) – because he would not hurry up and change DADT by executive order

    – pump and give an eternal platform to the attacks from the left (Moore and that soldier who would tie him self on the WH fence – instead of congress, GG and the Snowden-addicted crowd );

    – bringing all those nutty illogical and unrealistic people on the left to attack PBO (even though the math in the house and senate meant that conservative Dems would never sign onto some policies PBO favored);

    – constantly criticizing PBO’s record on equality and giving very little credit a POTUS who had done so much on the LGBT rights ;

    now I never know what to expect from Maddow;

    I just wait for others to watch, I praise her for the great segments she does but I do not bother my blood pressure when she choose to go unrealistically nutty

  10. April 5, 2014 at 10:21 am

    I agree with you. In fact, I used to record Maddow, Ed and Rev. Al but only record the Rev now because I do not like some segments. I will not give them the consistent rating for the entire show.

      We haven’t turned on MSNBC….or hardly any TV in weeks. We watch local news for the weather forecast, but don’t watch either the network news or cable. Our lives are calmer.

      MSNBC really grew during the last three years of the GWB time. They pounded him regularly with facts and passion. When they got a president who stood for what they had advocated, they didn’t know how to behave. Afraid of being called “obamabots” they totally lost their way, except for Keith Olbermann. I still believe he was fired because of his strong monologue the night Gabby Giffords was shot, blaming the right wing gun culture. I don’t believe it had anything to do with his small donation to a political candidate.

      That firing was the writing on the wall for other hosts. They got so used to being against, they didn’t know how to advocate or be even handed.

      The Kochs are longtime libertarians who believe in drastically lower personal and corporate taxes, minimal social services for the needy, and much less oversight of industry—especially environmental regulation. These views dovetail with the brothers’ corporate interests…

    Axelrod is citing an AP-GFK poll as “every bit of evidence?” The same AP-GFK poll which, just as the ACA passed the 6M enrollment mark and was rapidly moving towards 7M, claimed that support for the ACA was “dwindling” with only 26% approval.

    The STRONGEST predictor of this year’s turnout is last year’s turnout, not GOP-sponsored vote-suppressing polls.

        April 5, 2014 at 11:32 am

        These polls are designed to demoralize Dems and boost GOPers’ morales. They are a very insidious form of voter suppression. By making Dems feel pessimistic and unmotivated. I find it highly frustrating that many of us just ignore last year’s election results and run along with DC beltway CW about Dem lack of enthusiasm. The evidence for “stronger GOP turnout” simply is not there. When all they have to show are stupid biased polls that have been shown time and again to be wrong, why do we insist on buying their crap?

        • 44 Vicki
          April 5, 2014 at 12:19 pm

          One of the favorite Depress the vote frames is that POTUS won’t be on the 2014 ballot.
          Going by the energy level and schedule and tenor of The President’s recent appearances, the democratic doubters may want to revisit their faulty assumptions.

          The polls are Wrong.
          President Obama is very much on the 2014 ballot. Vote D and you are voting for PBO.
          Stay home and you are letting your team down.

        • 45 Dudette
          April 5, 2014 at 12:37 pm

          I hope it does the opposite — spurs Dems to mobilize to landslide numbers

    • 46 vcprezofan2
      April 5, 2014 at 11:39 am

      Is Axelrod being strategic, or tactical? (Every time I remember Johnnie McCain saying PBO didn’t know the difference between tactics and strategy, I smile and think, ‘And *you* do?’)

      • 47 hopefruit2
        April 5, 2014 at 11:54 am

        I don’t think it’s a good strategy to use bad polling data and pretend that GOP is winning to order to get Dems motivated. In fact I think it’s a poor one. And the GOPmedia loves it, because it benefits the GOP more than it does the Dems. If people are given facts about the goings-on in congress, the policies, and things that matter to them, they will make informed decisions at the voting both.

        Correct and timely information given to the public almost always benefits the Democrats, which is why the media works so hard to spread false information or keep the truth away from the public for as long as possible.

        • 48 vcprezofan2
          April 5, 2014 at 11:59 am

          You will get no argument from me on this one, Hopef. Apart from the fact that I get annoyed when ANY Dem reuse GOP frames, I greatly favour giving people facts (politically). It’s ONE of the reasons PBO originally appealed to me – his speeches acknowledged that I have a working brain.

      • 50 Vicki

        No. He’s being Wrong.

    • 55 Nena20409
      April 5, 2014 at 12:54 pm

      Axelrod and many other Dems who are saying these things are saying it just like they used the 2012 pollsters predictions from many quarters to their advantage, winning in Nov 2012……by plotting and like a bird up in the sky looking down a body of water…..be it river, lake, sea or ocean looking for a prey from above and descends precisely to pick up it’s food.

      Dems are reported to be lagging in enthusiasm. Okay. Fine. Same was said in 2010. The same was said in 2012. Sounding an alarm as a tool to Wake folks up is Not a bad strategy. If scare tactics would work, I say….use it for 2010 Must Never happen again.

      2014 must be a Nov with a History defying election with Dems as the Victors.

      President Obama said in 2010, don’t hand back the keys. Pres Obama in 2012 said stay the Course. Pres Obama in 2014 is saying Don’t Boo, Organize. Lets heed the message and Win in 2014.

When I got put in Twitter jail earlier this week for sending a message to every climate denier in Congress, I first thought it was because I used .@. The WH need to put FLOTUS and POTUS out there raising money, and going to places were they can encourage blacks, latinos, young people, women to get out to vote 2014. If you support POTUS in 2012, we need that support again. We CAN NOT have the Republicans taking over the Senate and growing stronger in the House.

    If you look at the first three three out of the last four of RNC Chair’s @Reince’s Twitter TL, you see someone who is literally unhinged, and not in control. This doesn’t strike me as someone who believes they are poised to take back the Senate in 2014. Strikes me as someone who is desperate and flailing….

    Then the MSM came to his rescure by pushing that silly AP poll….

    Only in the last hour after the MSM’s timely release of the GOP morale-boosting AP ‘poll” did he feel a bit better to post something about retaking the Senate…

    I like political thrillers be they conservative or liberal. Against the state or for the state. It’s interesting to view them and have discussions about them but this interview cracked me up at the level of sophomoric thinking displayed by the directors.

    If you go to, rely on, get your news, and world view from Reddit, you have no business writing a “political thriller.” Reddit?! That’s where your political framework is built on? Stick to action movies, bros.
