Of course, he did NOT give the names of those hospitals and Chris Wallace did not ask… I will call his office this morning and ask for the ” Cancer Hospital names….and will report what I am told.
that’s the theme for today—–“cooking the books”——have seen the clip of that accusation multiple times already. Surprisingly, Smirky Todd denied that books were being cooked when asked on the Today Show. That truth must have been painful for him.
The media is now going to treat BarASSo’s “cooking books” comment as if it were up for debate. Just like how they treated the birth certificate issue. They will not not ask BarASSo to provide any evidence whatsoever to support his outlandish claim. Instead they will keep replaying it over and over across the next several days/weeks, so that they can then commission another “poll” showing that 50% of Americans believe that the Obama admin cooked the ACA numbers.
Yes, Hf, and now we know what they’re about, we won’t be sucked in by negativity. Keep moving forward and reporting the facts. This is intended to discourage us. We can’t let it.
Cooking the books is something the media and Republicans would do. All we are seeing is that the media and Republicans will say or do anything, they will and have sunk to the lowest of level. So now they have another poll, saying 50% think the administration cook the ACA numbers. The media loves polls, I’m sure they would had pollster talking to people asking them if America should end slavery and I’m willing to bet that most people would have said No! But ending slavery was the right thing to do. My point is some times you do things because it’s the right thing to do, maybe not the popular thing, but the right thing.

It sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory: a secretive businessman founds a for-profit medical center to treat cancer. His hospitals offer conventional treatments but also sell highly questionable, unscientific treatments to vulnerable patients. These treatments help to increase profits. The businessman uses the profits from his cancer hospitals to support his favorite right-wing causes. Patients have no idea that the fees they pay for treatment help support these causes.
It may sound unbelievable, but it’s true. Most of this story was described in a lengthy exposé just published in the Washington Post on Christmas day. The Post revealed that Richard Stephenson, the founder of a large for-profit cancer center, is also one of the primary funding sources for Freedom Works, a right-wing Tea Party organization that played a major role in the 2012 elections.
Df, I don’t understand how this is even possible in the warped mind of even the dumbest Republican. People who sign up through ACA don’t have that stamped on their insurance cards, nor is there any indication on the card itself. It carries the name of the INSURANCE company. If you are insured through WellPoint, for example, that’s the card you present. So how is any admitting staff to know how the patient “found” the insurance company? It’s bogus from start to finish and it shows that Barasso doesn’t even understand the basics of ACA. It’s not a government program where you have a government issued card, like a SS#. It’s a marketplace–a route to private insurance.
Who knows..this was my guess because of the Freedom Works ties. You are correct though. Insurance bought because of the ACA isn’t some scarlett letter stamped on your forehead. It’s regular, private insurance. Who knows. Why does Hobby Lobby think it has the right to do what IT thinks it should do? It’s all nuts to me. Ask those millions of people if they give two shits what the RWNJ’S have to say about insurance when they and their families are covered now…sometimes for the first time ever! I think they’re talking to themselves now…trying to further convince themselves how awful this is…awful for THEM because they will lose elections because of this if their Dem challenger is smart. And this tactic is similar to the story I saw in the Chgo Trib over the weekend—–Illinois Repubs were slamming Medicaid expansion in the state. Sen. Kirk said, “Doctors don’t do Medicaid” and our venture capitalist multi-millionaire GOP Gov. candidate Rauner said that “People who have enrolled in Medicaid will think they have health insurance, and they don’t.”
It appears to be a last desperate attempt by Repubs to attack all facets of ACA.
why do republicans even bother to lie about the enrollment numbers at this late date when they can be proven wrong in short order?
I think we should continue to share out the total numbers of ALL those who have received healthcare as a result of Obamacare (i.e. private, Medicaid, CHIP, kids on parents’ policies);
PBO should be given credit for Obamacare bringing insurance to all these people because at the end of the day, what matters is access to affordable health care and the peace of mind it brings to enrollees

I agree donna. There is a serious misconception that it’s “right-wing” media or FOX News downplaying positive Ocare news – when the entire MSM is doing just that. The WHPC have been leading the large in pushing negative narratives for this President from Day 1. This is why I am ALWAYS on the cases of “journalists” like Mark Knoller, Jon Karl and Chuck Todd, because they essentially push a GOP-desired narrative under the guise of “objective” reporting. I hope that when the final ACA numbers come in after the April 15 extension, the president has a prime time address announcing the results, congratulating all those now on health care and thanking those who worked so hard to make it happen. G.W. Bush extended his Medicare Prescription Drug Plan for seven months, the rollout of that program didn’t go smoothly. It had it’s problem, but everyone seem to have forgotten that. I think of Ezra Klein the same way I do Chucky Todd. “F” them both.
I’ll say something that might be a little controversial here but honestly our DNC Chairman just doesn’t cut it for me. I think DWS is a fine person and a good spokesperson but the reality is that she has a day job so her concentration on anticipating the push back and being ready to fire back at our media is tepid at best IMO. It frustrates me to no end how people in this country are still ignorant about this Law because all they hear over and over again is the negative version of this story. These stories get the most press and these stories stay in the press the longest. The Law is not perfect but the Law is not an albatross either. NBC news doesn’t think it’s newsworthy to cover this story when we reach a milestone because according to their News Director it would be a “tad arbitrary” to discuss before the deadline SMDH.

Here is the list of Doctors, Clinics.etc in Illinois that accept Medicaid. All I had to do is check the box for Medicaid.

I think we should continue to share out the total numbers of ALL those who have received healthcare as a result of Obamacare (i.e. private, Medicaid, CHIP, kids on parents’ policies);
PBO should be given credit for Obamacare bringing insurance to all these people because at the end of the day, what matters is access to affordable health care and the peace of mind it brings to enrollees

GMA has reported that the website has CRASHED! Volume has exceeded expectation. Here’s their headline; Republicans are saying that Obama Administration has cooked the books.
This is the story that they are going to feed AMERICA. Everyone has to push back on this; DEMS, Administration and those who have the President’s back. Please tweet, send e-mails and call. We can not allow the repukes AND MSM to grab this and LIE to America. We must speak up and speak out because this is how they plan to take the Senate and keep the House. Last week, one of the pundit’s was giddy when he stated; Obamacare will be repealed when the repukes take the Senate.
There are times when DEMS and the Administration have been too slow in combating the repukes lies. I have witnessed 1st hand; a lie that is repeated over and over, and is not challenged, becomes the truth to those who hear it often.
We The People can not allow MSM to STEAL this ACCOMPLISHMENT from President Barack H. Obama. Not long ago, the repukes gave credit to George Bush for Osama’s death. They took that accomplishment from the President and paraded around the networks and “gave credit to the Bush Administration.” They refuse to give credit for his accomplishments in Foreign Affairs. I agree donna. There is a serious misconception that it’s “right-wing” media or FOX News downplaying positive Ocare news – when the entire MSM is doing just that. The WHPC have been leading the large in pushing negative narratives for this President from Day 1. This is why I am ALWAYS on the cases of “journalists” like Mark Knoller, Jon Karl and Chuck Todd, because they essentially push a GOP-desired narrative under the guise of “objective” reporting. Many people aren’t aware they do this – but those of us who are aware should definitely call them out.

I hope that when the final ACA numbers come in after the April 15 extension, the president has a prime time address announcing the results, congratulating all those now on health care and thanking those who worked so hard to make it happen. Whenever he talks directly to the people, attitudes change–it works every time. Then I hope he has serious talks with every Democratic member of Congress to tell them to stop being cowards and stand up for the truth. Other Democrats have to do their part, as well, especially every single Democratic candidate on the ballot for every single office, no matter how small. Get mad, get the facts, and then get even by spreading the news and getting out the vote. We can’t allow the lies to win. Not this year. Not this time. Our democracy is on the knife edge. It’s up to us to save it.

Phil was good and pointed out the “truths and facts” regarding Obamacare. Of course, the Chucky had that smirk on his face that I wanted to slap off. He (Chuck) replayed Kathleen Sebelius tape; what do you call success? Sebelius: I believe 7 million by March 31st.
Chuck states that the DEMS are in a hole because of Obamacare, and in trouble for 2014; rates are going to go up, and 6 million is only a “small dent” because 42 million were not covered in 2012. Young people didn’t sign up like the President wanted, and how many are “new” versus those who had insurance?
Again, Phil was good. I hope the DEMS come together and go on a full court press against these evil liars and thieves. Chucky and the gang are setting the tone and the narrative for DEMS to lose 2014. The DEMS BETTER be ready to fight and fight hard, and people (Democrats) need to be ready to vote as though their lives depend on it because………it will.

Forgive me but Donna Dem needs to rant….
I’ll say something that might be a little controversial here but honestly our DNC Chairman just doesn’t cut it for me. I think DWS is a fine person and a good spokesperson but the reality is that she has a day job so her concentration on anticipating the push back and being ready to fire back at our media is tepid at best IMO. After 5 years of watching how this media treats our President and his policies a blind person could have seen that our media would be geared up and ready to go with ANY negative story they could find today.
We should have 4 or 5 very articulate, well versed Democratic strategist and or congresspersons out there ready to flood the airwaves ALL DAY today to defend this law. We should demand to have a seat on these cable shows and quite frankly call out the media on the negative emphasis that they are placing on this story. The media will only do what we allow them to do. We have the power to change the negative narrative if we just worked at it.
It frustrates me to no end how people in this country are still ignorant about this Law because all they hear over and over again is the negative version of this story. These stories get the most press and these stories stay in the press the longest. The Law is not perfect but the Law is not an albatross either. NBC news doesn’t think it’s newsworthy to cover this story when we reach a milestone because according to their News Director it would be a “tad arbitrary” to discuss before the deadline SMDH.
We the supporters fight back on Twitter, Blogs and Facebook and by word of mouth but it sure would be nice if more Democrats with a platform would help us out a little.
There is so much good to discuss about this Law but it barely gets a mention.
Where are the stories about all those Republican Governors that refused to expand Medicaid in their states leaving out potentially 5 million people from health care coverage?
Where are all those heart wrenching stories across this nation about people who finally for the first time in many years have the security of health care coverage?
Where are the thousands of stories about all those citizens who now can afford health care without going in the hole financially because their premiums under Obamacare have been reduced dramatically?
Wake Up Democrats! Learn for goodness sake how to play the game. You have to fight for what is right. Reince Priebus goes to bed thinking of ways to beat the Democrats and I sure would like to see this same kind of focus on our side for once!
