Whoa CA you ROCK
Whoa! These results are what happen when you have a Democratic governor who wants things to work. Too bad so many states are stuck with incompetents as governors.
There may be more…
I have been enrolled since Jan 1 but, due to a change of address glitch, my CovereCA acct shows that I have not yet picked a plan. Sent them an email about the mistake and they have emailed me back that someone will call me, but I know this probably won’t get resolved for a bit since they are so overwhelmed today. No worries, I have my ID cards already and insurance company shows me as current and paid up. Just figured I may not be the only one whose experienced glitches so there may be even more people who are actually signed up than current numbers show 🙂
Seeing all of this coming to fruition and so many lives changed (Rachel Ray’s tearing up was contagious) in spite of the far-right, far left and media establishment efforts against it is a beautiful, beautiful thing!
Congrats on #1, Donna. Thanks also for all the hard work you put in at OFA and all your incredible tweets about the ACA. I am so proud of my state. People living in GOP governed states should learn from California.
Awwww….
When Dems take the offensive on health care.
This is a good ad!!
Both these ads are hard hitting and I think will be very effective. Go Dems!
Here’s another from the series.
How’s about: Dems Built This – For the American People!
About time! Good grief. Their half hearted endorsement is the reason it doesn’t poll well. People don’t pay that close attention but assume if their own party leaders are lukewarm on it, it must not be a good deal.
These guys mean business. Here’s another re New Hampshire, but I didn’t tweet it.
Like Obamcare, Nerdy is SUUUUUUUUURGING!!!! Another fantastic collection of tweets, these stories make me tear up. Thank you Nerdy.
LOL. You’re welcome, Chiparoo.
ROCK STEADY, You bet.
Great Work.
Awesome.
I am soooo tired of hearing GOP AND Dems just mindlessly parrot “we gotta fix it”. Really. Why don’t Dems say it’s FANTASTIC and there’s nothing wrong with it? Why this half hearted endorsement of something that is a LIFESAVER to millions of people??
Agree. Thus ….
EXACTLY!!! Thanks Bob!!
I’ve got a better slogan for the GOP and Dems… How about “We gotta support it” !!?

You know that!
Their joke bites them in the ass. Now, it’s Affordable Care Act.
Bunch of hypocrites!.
I will forever call it Obamacare until I die. Just in case the Clintons or anybody else dare to ever try to take credit for it.
My prayer is that as people embrace good health and hopefully preventive health in the future, they will never ever forget who stood up and got it done for them. I am happy for everyone who can now afford insurance.
Those who think they are forced, then I hope you never have to use yours, never get sick, never have an accident.
God forbid you die of natural causes. Bless your sweet heart.
I am with you as I have thought it is possible for Hillary to get into the office and “fix” something minor while claiming credit for the entire healthcare process. Obamacare will stay in my mind forever. He deserves every bit of credit for the dream coming true. PBO went against what everyone advised and pushed PPACA right away. It never would have happened with the current Congress if he had waited like his advisors wanted. Also he took abuse from the GOP, the Media, the far Left for it not being totally what they wanted. Lies were rampant and I totally think his bravery for carrying on seeing the big picture is what got us to this point, not to mention our support and belief that our involvement can outweigh evil intents. I do not see any other modern day politician willing to put the common good above themselves.
Thanks Nerdy, for such fantastic, day-long coverage of the #ObamaCareSurge!!
Thanks, HF.
You just keep hitting them out of the park, NW!!! BRAVO!!!!!
Thanks, Bob. 🙂
I thank you too, Nerdy ‘old’ girl! 😎
This is a win-win situation for everyone. Although this is a huge win for the newly insured and a significant win for those of us who already have insurance, but who will see our costs slow down over the years, the Insurance companies and the medical providers are not exactly losing out in this deal either. The increase in customers and decreased administrative costs will more than make up for lower premiums. 🙂
Right HF. As the weeks and months pass, as the slow, psychological reality sets in, the outlook of so many will settle into their daily life conscious awareness. They may wake up not feeling well, and it will occur to them, Hey, I have health insurance! In other countries where I have lived who provide national health service, I found the overall sense of security creates a kinder, less fearful population. People who feel secure are less aggressive towards others. Parents who feel less fearful for themselves are more present and available for their children, and feeling less fearful for their children creates a wonderful deepening of family bonds. Not saying parents love their children less now (pre-ACA), but the safety net of managing normal childhood ailments is lessened with health care security. Knowing they themselves are also covered, just makes life that much more relaxed and enjoyable. I believe a lot of people just don’t know how good they are going to feel in 3, 6, 12 months time as it sinks in and becomes a stable element in their lives. This is a huge leap forward for the US, long overdue.
Thank you for posting the video.
This is a very beautiful interview with Rachael Ray and Vice President Biden. This is so personal for so many of us.
I’ve been upset today and emotional about the repukes lies about Obamacare because it personal for “me and my family.”
I will extend an invitation to each of these liars (Republicans), to come to my home and visit with my family members who lost their mother.
**************************************************************************************************************************************************
Here is the raw story of life with no insurance-it’s personal. ***PLEASE DON’T READ IF YOU ARE EATING***
My aunt passed away from breast cancer, and she had no insurance. She had worked in the church for many years; no retirement or health insurance. My cousin, her daughter detected the breast cancer because of an odor coming from my aunt.
We were all attending and celebrating our family reunion; during the day, there was talk of a foul smell. This went on throughout the day. There were whispers that the smell was coming from my aunt.
Well, my cousin took her mother (my aunt) into the bedroom, only to find a “piece of cloth” pushed down in a hole under my aunt’s arm. The hole was the size of her fist. From that hole, out came- you name it, it was leaking on to the cloth.
She was rushed to the hospital, they could not do anything for her, the cancer was in the last stage; from the hospital to hospice, and one week later, to the grave yard.
Why did my aunt do this? She had “NO INSURANCE” and didn’t want to burden the family, so she packed the hole under her arm, with flesh rotting away, with pieces of cloth (baby diapers). She had no insurance.
My sister lost her left breast to breast cancer but she survived. She’s here, I believe, because she HAD INSURANCE and was able to get the care that she needed. She felt a lump and went to her doctor; because she had insurance, she received the best care and 13 years later she is still here. She had a scare a few months ago but she was able to go and have the cyst removed, they thought the cancer had returned but it was just a cyst.
So for those of you who read my rants today; it’s personal, and no one should lose a love one because of being denied health insurance. My aunt is gone but I pray for the families who have this “beautiful gift called insurance.” Yes, I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of the liars and thieves who are willing to destroy this country to ruin one man.
Their hatred doesn’t just touch President Obama, his family and the Administration; it touches all of us, and I will fight tooth and nail for any family if they try and take this “gift” away.
So I have been upset and emotionally challenged today because this is a miracle; spiritually and morally, a victory for all, and a blessing to every family who needs health care.
To the Republican Party; “it’s personal.” It’s time to stop the BS!!!
Thank you for sharing your story. I am outraged too, but from a different perspective. I came from Canada where everyone has healthcare and I just don’t get why anyone would not want their neighbor to have good health care. My husband is a doctor who has seen the ravages first hand, of kids whose families lost everything, because of their cancer. Yes it is personal, for a lot of Americans.
Thank you Betsy,
My story is just a story of so many others. They are trying to play with people lives and this is not a game.
It certainly is not a game. I wish our MSM would realize that.
Cindy, I am in tears. Thank you for sharing this. My husband died of lung cancer and I do not know what we would have done if we did not have insurance. I cried and prayed for patients who we formed bonds with during his stay in and out of the hospital who did not have good insurance and they would worry more about the insurance than the person.
We felt so helpless.
I have prayed ever since. And today I thank God for hearing all of our prayers this day.
Those who are against this all I can say is: Don’t ever get sick. Don’t ever have an accident. Go ahead and die of natural causes.
Thank you LDS and hugs {{{{{{{{LDS}}}}}}} to you for the lost of your dear husband.
This is real, and they are trying to play with the lives of human beings, and if an individual is blessed to have insurance, then I feel that they should have compassion for the least of these.
Nothing could help my aunt because she was in the last stage but think about how many lives will be saved today because cancer was caught in the first stage. So this is not a game.
So sorry for your loss LDS. I agree that having healthcare for everyone will change us all.
Thank you for sharing this heartbreaking story. Your family’s pain is echoes loudly why this life-saving law is so important.
Cancer (colon and breast cancer) has taken several of my cousins, as well as both of my grandmothers and one grandfather. Several of them had no insurance and also avoided getting help until too late, because they didn’t want to be burdens on the family.
It’s hard to think that anyone would have the kind of hate in their hearts that would make them deny literally life-saving benefits to their fellow citizens. We must do whatever can to make sure that our government stays out of the hands of the Republicans who would take what the ACA has given millions to date.
Thank you Dudette and hugs to you for your lost {{{{{{{{Dudette}}}}}}}}, it’s real and a life is not a gambling chip.
May your aunt rest in peace. So sad she had that happen to her in USA. Thank you and Bless you for sharing this story.
has he covered any of the good news about ACA?
He made an appearance on MSNBC and Mediaite has a post there. I just refused to read or link it for people like EK make me sick. I just lost respect for his kind of bat poop.
Jim De Mint (Waterloo) must need heavy meds today.
He now works for Heritage.
The Approval of GOPers of ACA has now gone from 17% to 36% per ABCnews poll out today.
Watch what happens as those numbers tick way up. You will see that Heritage and DeMint and Co will do a 180 and the MSM would Not say one word.
OBL was eliminated May 1st and that Sunday of the 14 people on the Sunday Talk Fest 13 were former Bush aides taking undeserved credits.
Right-wingers want to claim that Obamacare made their rates go up, etc., but when asked for proof, instead of happily providing it, they fly into a rage, like this:
Oooooh, I am loving their rage today, they are incensed by the surge!!!!
He is off the ledge right now…talking about PBO’s birth cert/college transcripts..etc…OOOhh I’m enjoying it! 🙂
Ezra Klein and Jim De Mint suffering today.
Both have relatively dropped off the radar compared to where they were a few years ago.
Add Mitch “One Term” McConnell to the hurting department today. Maybe he will be gone soon too.
oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please!
Oh and the “One term” McConnell referred to??? That term is “OBAMACARE”– Not my original joke, but it is terrific isn’t it?
can’t stop laughing at this. maybe the purity progressives will be happy with president obama now….nah:
This will just make the purity progressives even madder 😉 They’re almost undoubtedly bitching, like broken records, about how he didn’t bother to fight for single-payer.
And the numbers will grow and grow and grow and grow…..
Fly ACA Fly. Fly ACA Fly. Up, up to the sky…….
As you wish! 🙂
Thanks TODable DJ Dudette.
Talk about stress testing the system!!!! Obviously, a lot of planning went into the infrastructure to support what was predicted to be massive influx of customers in the final days. Not many systems would be able to handle that type of load.
TRUTH ….
#TrustBarack
Yes We Can
Good health insurance is not a privilege, it is a necessity. It is a human right. Today I got my mammogram……so thankful that I have good insurance that covers everything. I just wept when I read the Cindy’s story above about her aunt. The problem is, that story is too common in our country. How can these politicians possibly say “We have the best health care system in the world” when this happens to a dear lady because she had no insurance!!!! No woman should be denied a mammogram because she does not have the insurance to pay for it. That is positively criminal. These people trying to stop the ACA are criminals as much as Dick Cheney and GWB and Rumsfeld are war criminals!
Flat earthers.
This cartoon doesn’t seem too over-the-top today. POTUS has already done most of the things mentioned and there are three more years.
My bud who’s currently unemployed and recently got her own very affordable plan [Hallelujah!] says the folks on the phone gave her the best customer service she’s ever experienced anywhere. She was impressed by how extremely patient, courteous and professional they were. She’s one of the folks who got locked out due to glitches when she originally tried then tried to go back and complete her application. It took several tried and a final multi-hour session on the phone with several people to get it resolved, but it worked out. [Phew!]
She’s in Marketing/PR and told me the only complaint she had at all was how she wished the effort to get the message out about ACA was stronger than what she observed. We both lamented the noticeable lack of information about ACA in most traditional media. I mentioned that we saw the President going to non-traditional outlets, like visits to talk shows and doing local news interviews, to get around the crappy MSM. She found it hard to believe there wasn’t more money put into PSAs and ads.
One thing that she pointed to that needed to be hyped better was the availability of 24/7 phone assistance. This surprised many people that she and I both spoke to. Hopefully that’ll be beefed up for the next open enrollment cycle. Of course, we both noted the billions of dollars put into mis-information by the Repugs.
Anyway, despite that dearth of traditional media avenues, it’s been remarkable to see the smart use of socia media and alternate outlets. Something she says she’s taking note of for her own career. 🙂
——–
By the way, she got an offer today for a job in Boston! A tepid “yippie” though, it’s contingent on the company winning a big contract and they’re really low-balling on relocation assistance. She’s hoping they’ll negotiate. It’s not the ideal gig, since she really wanted to stay in Atlanta, but she’s been looking so for months and no bites here. You gotta go where the money is.
Thank you Dudette for sharing the update about your friend’s journey; HAPPY to hear she has health care now, and the prospects of a new job. I’ll take her off the “prayer list” for health care : ) but will keep hope alive for the job. One step at a time. AWESOME NEWS!
Thanks so much Cindy. Your prayers and well-wishes are much appreciated.
Part of the information on ACA rollout came from negotiations before the bill became law cutting the advertising budget. It was to appease GOP legislators who then did not vote for it anyway.
GOTV!
Oh My…Jon Karl gave a very snarky ACA report – spinning as much as possible while moving the goalposts. He focused mostly on the website glitches today, and tried to portray the WH as desperate. He failed to mention the actual numbers enrolled so far, and started whining that we don’t know how many people have paid so far.

Sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😦
I have no issue with Rep. Clyburn saying that he would like to see more but why air our laundry on Morning Joke? If he feels this way then make that phone call to the WH and let them know. Why give the RW political fodder? The stuff that they should be out there talking about they don’t. Then someone like POLITICO picks it up and it becomes all about what “Obama is or isn’t doing”. This stuff just makes me irritable.
I’m only seeing a snippet of the interview so I don’t know what else was said but you would think that after 5 years into this administration that we would have learned how to play the messaging game by now.
ttps://twitter.com/NoShock/status/450770789550157825
I’m disappointed in Jim Clyburn, very. What more do he want Obama to do, give them dam Democrats courage. He can’t do that.
And, it is not up to the Whitehouse. Where are the Democrats? You never see them standing up for one another or the President. They have been riding on his coattails the entire way.
Hi donna,
I saw about 2 minutes of the interview and changed the station; here’s why, Clyburn looked tired and I saw this “evil” smirk on the Jokester face and thought, this is going to be BS. Two of the jokester’s cronies (Mark H. and someone else) were there, and I felt that Clyburn would not do a full court press. I judged by the looks so I don’t know the outcome.
Ed S. stated that he has been hearing that the DEMS are saying; they don’t want to get burned too early before the election, and they are not ready to come out in full support. Here are my questions to the DEMS.
Who told you that you were promised to win the 2014 election?
Who guaranteed you that you would be here in November 2014?
What I know about life; our yesterdays are gone, tomorrows are not guaranteed or promised and all you have right now……is today.
Some of these DEMs are taking for granted that they will automatically get the President voters, so they can sit back and be safe.
Bush Administration lied us into a war and 4000 plus American lives are lost.
President Obama fought with every thing inside of him to bring America healthcare; possibly SAVING MILLIONS of lives, and they (DEMS) run like chickens with their heads cut off (the elders would say). However, they expect us to vote for them because we don’t have a choice.
Again, Thank you Nerdy Wonka for another wonderful surge of coverage of OBAMACARE.
Thank you CHIPS for providing this platform that outshines the lazy media coverage any day of the year.
You both are a tremendous blessing.
Thank you so much Hope44, days like this are to be treasured, endless thanks again to Nerdy, she brought it all alive!
Thank you, Hope44.

Mondays don’t always have to get you down. Today was a GREAT one!
So proud of everyone that talked to friends and family about Obamacare…proud of all the navigators and others that signed up everyone that wanted it….makes my heart happy:) These people will tell their friends and their families and so on and so on….and even if some don’t make it this round, they won’t think twice in November for round 2….it will just perpetuate itself …on and on the safety and security of families having healthcare….it’s a wonderful thing!!! No turning back now… FORWARD! Thank you, President Obama and everyone that helped this come to fruition. Now Dems, STICK UP FOR YOUR HARD WORK! THIS WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO! IF YOU DON’T KNOW IT, DON’T FEEL IT IN YOUR BONES, THEN GET THE HELL OUTTA THE WAY FOR SOMEONE THAT DOES!
