I hope we hear about the state ACA signups since many haven’t reported in for a while. It’s going to take a while before the full impact’s known. Wonder how many voter registrations have come from the signups?

The bottom of the last page of application for Medicaid is a voter registration form. It is simple yet detailed enough, and offers people assistance if they are uncertain of any aspect of their eligibility. It was very positive and helpful to see this. I was already a registered voter, but felt this was so beneficial to many others, as well as completing two processes in one format. So when successful people receive not only their Medicaid card in the mail, but a voter ID as well, I’m sure they will be quite proud, and motivated to actually vote!

So, after writing President Obama about needing a new DNC chair…..which we do…..I thought, who else can I write? So I wrote Nancy Pelosi with the same suggestion. I know neither PBO nor Nancy Smash will ever actually read my email, but someone in each office will, and it will be noted and tabulated. We’ve started other movements on this blog, and I believe this is important. I saw the tweets sent on the previous post, and I think we need to multiply this in whatever form. I also think we need to have positive suggestions for who will make a good, aggressive, vocal DNC chair. I know both Dean and Begala have network connections.

      Hi Carolyn,

Many are feeling the same way; we need some strong voices from the DEM’s base. I have seen Antonio Villaraigosa on the shows, and he has been strong on issues that were brought to him.

I know that there are others; just wish that DEMs would prepare for the onslaughts when victory is on their side. I don’t hear the passion in their voices when some of them need to speak on the ACA.

President Obama has given them a victory, a gift, in my opinion, and you would not know it today. People lives are being saved, and changed positively, and the DEMs can’t seem to embrace this.

When is it necessary to apologize for saving someone’s life? It took almost 100 years to get here and some do not want to lift, and help the President carry this load. I don’t understand it at all. I’ve been looking for Democratic Senators and Congress to send out tweets today; should be every where and so many want to play it safe.

Victory is here….today is VICTORIOUS for millions, and it seems that we owe an apology for doing something GREAT for AMERICA!

      *************************************************************************************************************************************************************
To my Democratic Senators and Congress:

Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you’ll be criticized anyway. You’ll be damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.
      Eleanor Roosevelt

I could not at any age be content to take my place in a corner by the fireside and simply look on.
      Eleanor Roosevelt

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

The day that the media and the GOP are forced to accept that ACA is a resounding success is the day it will no longer be called ObamaCare. His connection to it will be erased from the Republican memory bank. This is what PBO predicted and this is surely what will happen. Fortunately, the incessant whining about ObamaCare from the right has imprinted the connection in people’s minds. Also, unlike any other political person of his time, President Obama doesn’t need or crave the credit. He just wants to get the job done. And he has.

  9. March 31, 2014 at 12:34 pm

I had no doubt that Charles Gaba’s ‘off-exchange’ estimate of 4 Million was conservative. That the non-exchange enrolled number is 9 million or more has stunning implications for just how hard it will ever be for Republicans to deny Americans their #Obamacare. And, among those who will fight them are the insurance companies, physicians and other health care providers, manufacturers and suppliers of every kind of medical device and therapy, etc., who will now profit considerably from having so many more customers than they had prior to #Obamacare.

Bobfr, it will be heartening to see how many are covered when the dust settles around May 1. My state will still be enrolling people via Cover Oregon through April 30th. Charles Gaba has done yeoman’s work on this, and GOPers like Barrasso cannot fathom how this could have happened because they don’t deal in facts.

Photographs Expose Russian-Trained Killers in Kiev
The slaughter of 53 protesters in the Maidan on February 20 changed history. Now, exclusive photographs show what really happened.

“KIEV, Ukraine—The first crack of a sniper’s round in Kiev’s Independence Square came shortly after nine o’clock on the morning of February 20 and the last about seven hours later at around four o’clock in the afternoon drawing to a close the bloodiest day in what had been a months-long struggle to oust Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych.

    clip

“U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt said after seeing the pictures, “These photographs may be highly important evidence of what happened on February 20. They add to the urgency for a full and thorough and impartial investigation into the shootings in Independence Square. Ukrainians have a right to know the truth and they expect that those responsible for the killings and the people who ordered the snipers in should be held accountable.” ”

Germany’s Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has welcomed a “slight reduction” in the number of Russian troops along Ukraine’s border.

The Russian defence ministry said one motorised infantry battalion was withdrawing from the Rostov region.

After a meeting with his French and Polish counterparts, Mr Steinmeier said it was a “small signal” that the situation was becoming less tense.

Thousands of Russian soldiers are still said to be deployed along the border.

Earlier, Ukraine condemned a visit to Crimea by Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and a delegation of government ministers.

    Enrollment Remains Open if…..

If you reach your 26th birthday and fall off your parents plan—-go to Healthcare.gov
If you lose your job and your healthcare—–go to healthcare.gov
If a divorce or death of a spouse causes you to lose your healthcare—-go to healthcare.gov

General enrollment starts again in November but if you have a life change the ACA stays open for you!

Ronan Farrow’s MSNBC talk show is facing cancellation amid poor ratings, sources exclusively tell Confidenti@l.

Farrow, 28 — the opinionated, blue-eyed son of actress Mia Farrow and either Woody Allen or Frank Sinatra (even Farrow’s not sure which) — has been a disaster for MSNBC. The channel took the frequent cable-show guest and handed him his own program, “Ronan Farrow Daily,” which premiered in late February.
