🙂 Afternooooon Donna!
Afternoon Chips. I had better get back to work or else…..
Keep the positive tweets coming TOD. I’ll retweet more after I get some more work done 😉
#1 Donna!!!
And you are doing a phenomenal job out there in Oregon. Thank you again for all of your hard work.
Mornin’!
Mooooooooorning Jacqueline!
Ha! You always start the day with a smile, Chips!
Technically untrue, Jacqueline, I tend to start the day like this:
Eek. I like my plot better. 🙂
Mornings are my enemy, Jacqueline – when I rule the world they will be banned.
Chez moi, it starts that way as well, Chipsticks. Then it shifts to O_o, maybe a few times, before it finally ends up 🙂
Top 3!
Helloooooooo 57!
Morning, girlfriend! How’s our Danny behaving these days?
ooo, star billings.
I hope we hear about the state ACA signups since many haven’t reported in for a while. It’s going to take a while before the full impact’s known. Wonder how many voter registrations have come from the signups?
The bottom of the last page of application for Medicaid is a voter registration form. It is simple yet detailed enough, and offers people assistance if they are uncertain of any aspect of their eligibility. It was very positive and helpful to see this. I was already a registered voter, but felt this was so beneficial to many others, as well as completing two processes in one format. So when successful people receive not only their Medicaid card in the mail, but a voter ID as well, I’m sure they will be quite proud, and motivated to actually vote!
So, after writing President Obama about needing a new DNC chair…..which we do…..I thought, who else can I write? So I wrote Nancy Pelosi with the same suggestion. I know neither PBO nor Nancy Smash will ever actually read my email, but someone in each office will, and it will be noted and tabulated. We’ve started other movements on this blog, and I believe this is important. I saw the tweets sent on the previous post, and I think we need to multiply this in whatever form. I also think we need to have positive suggestions for who will make a good, aggressive, vocal DNC chair. I know both Dean and Begala have network connections.
Hi Carolyn,
Many are feeling the same way; we need some strong voices from the DEM’s base. I have seen Antonio Villaraigosa on the shows, and he has been strong on issues that were brought to him.
I know that there are others; just wish that DEMs would prepare for the onslaughts when victory is on their side. I don’t hear the passion in their voices when some of them need to speak on the ACA.
President Obama has given them a victory, a gift, in my opinion, and you would not know it today. People lives are being saved, and changed positively, and the DEMs can’t seem to embrace this.
When is it necessary to apologize for saving someone’s life? It took almost 100 years to get here and some do not want to lift, and help the President carry this load. I don’t understand it at all. I’ve been looking for Democratic Senators and Congress to send out tweets today; should be every where and so many want to play it safe.
Victory is here….today is VICTORIOUS for millions, and it seems that we owe an apology for doing something GREAT for AMERICA!
*************************************************************************************************************************************************************
To my Democratic Senators and Congress:
Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you’ll be criticized anyway. You’ll be damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.
Eleanor Roosevelt
I could not at any age be content to take my place in a corner by the fireside and simply look on.
Eleanor Roosevelt
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
Eleanor Roosevelt
Heartfelt agreement with you Cindy. Take heart though. With Democratic enthusiasm or without it, The ACA moves forward to provide our people with a better healthier more secure life.
Thank you, Cindy.
Happy Monday everyone! Is it officially 7 million already?? If not, I’ll bet it will be by tonight! Thanks for all the great posts this weekend and today, Ms Chips…. of course also thanks to NW and the other BT’s…….. I never read the MSM news any longer, only the aritcles posted here. THANK YOU so much!
The day that the media and the GOP are forced to accept that ACA is a resounding success is the day it will no longer be called ObamaCare. His connection to it will be erased from the Republican memory bank. This is what PBO predicted and this is surely what will happen. Fortunately, the incessant whining about ObamaCare from the right has imprinted the connection in people’s minds. Also, unlike any other political person of his time, President Obama doesn’t need or crave the credit. He just wants to get the job done. And he has.
You are so right Jackie! But I think it will always be Obamacare now, and this is thanks to the GOP. His legacy is assured.
President Obama made this same observation in a recent interview.
I had no doubt that Charles Gaba’s ‘off-exchange’ estimate of 4 Million was conservative. That the non-exchange enrolled number is 9 million or more has stunning implications for just how hard it will ever be for Republicans to deny Americans their #Obamacare. And, among those who will fight them are the insurance companies, physicians and other health care providers, manufacturers and suppliers of every kind of medical device and therapy, etc., who will now profit considerably from having so many more customers than they had prior to #Obamacare.
Bobfr, it will be heartening to see how many are covered when the dust settles around May 1. My state will still be enrolling people via Cover Oregon through April 30th. Charles Gaba has done yeoman’s work on this, and GOPers like Barrasso cannot fathom how this could have happened because they don’t deal in facts.
And those are VOTERS!! By fall, many will be seeing the benefits of having decent health care for the first time ever. They will be motivated. I’m sure they will.
Jared Leto? You just became even more sexier.
Oh my gosh, look at that line in San Antonio, look at all the lines.
Photographs Expose Russian-Trained Killers in Kiev
The slaughter of 53 protesters in the Maidan on February 20 changed history. Now, exclusive photographs show what really happened.
“KIEV, Ukraine—The first crack of a sniper’s round in Kiev’s Independence Square came shortly after nine o’clock on the morning of February 20 and the last about seven hours later at around four o’clock in the afternoon drawing to a close the bloodiest day in what had been a months-long struggle to oust Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych.
clip
“U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt said after seeing the pictures, “These photographs may be highly important evidence of what happened on February 20. They add to the urgency for a full and thorough and impartial investigation into the shootings in Independence Square. Ukrainians have a right to know the truth and they expect that those responsible for the killings and the people who ordered the snipers in should be held accountable.” ”
Putin the murder is the right wing President.
Germany’s Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has welcomed a “slight reduction” in the number of Russian troops along Ukraine’s border.
The Russian defence ministry said one motorised infantry battalion was withdrawing from the Rostov region.
After a meeting with his French and Polish counterparts, Mr Steinmeier said it was a “small signal” that the situation was becoming less tense.
Thousands of Russian soldiers are still said to be deployed along the border.
Earlier, Ukraine condemned a visit to Crimea by Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and a delegation of government ministers.

This is good news and a few places are reporting it. The sky of GOP/MSM world gets even darker with this diplomatic success. Sane members of society cheer a lessening of tension.
Say it ain’t so, it never cross my mind that the Republicans were trying to prevent certain people from voting.
Unbelievable but true. 😉
Maybe this is too soon but
Enrollment Remains Open if…..
If you reach your 26th birthday and fall off your parents plan—-go to Healthcare.gov
If you lose your job and your healthcare—–go to healthcare.gov
If a divorce or death of a spouse causes you to lose your healthcare—-go to healthcare.gov
General enrollment starts again in November but if you have a life change the ACA stays open for you!
thanks for that info…..
Woo hoo! I’m famous! no not at all but I did get referenced in Charles Gaba’s post this morning! See 6th paragraph “conversation with contributor Catherine”. 🙂 🙂

Now I feel silly, cuz I thought you were a dude! I dunno why! 🙂
🙂 Dudette, you aren’t the first to think that I think because the name sounds like Forrest and I talk sports a lot. The name is a play on Obama’s “all 50 states of the US both red and blue”.

When will the sad sack media ask the ” Moderate ” Jeb Bush why he signed the FIRST AND WORST Stand your ground law in the country ?
When ?
He’s the “new” GOP/media darling. No harsh questions. Smoothing the way for another Push for Bush.
He, too, will Fail.
System overload; good thing they built in the extension. So the one stat we do know is that 30% of the US population appear to be SERIOUS procrastinators. Haven’t 30% signed up in the last 45 days? Craziness.
…The new problem comes as traffic is surging on deadline day. … Health and Human Services spokesman Aaron Albright says technicians have identified an issue affecting consumers who are trying to create new accounts. …Technicians are working to fix the problem. … Albright said more than 100,000 people are using the system at the same time. … http://bigstory.ap.org/article/health-care-website-stumbles-last-day

Best show on TV — EVER!
I was tempted to tell you, but then I figured, we all had to wait to find out. Now you do, too.
😆 🙄 😆
Hmm?
http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/confidential/ratings-sink-ronan-farrow-show-msnbc-article-1.1740039?utm_content=buffere20e9&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
Ronan Farrow’s MSNBC talk show is facing cancellation amid poor ratings, sources exclusively tell Confidenti@l.
Farrow, 28 — the opinionated, blue-eyed son of actress Mia Farrow and either Woody Allen or Frank Sinatra (even Farrow’s not sure which) — has been a disaster for MSNBC. The channel took the frequent cable-show guest and handed him his own program, “Ronan Farrow Daily,” which premiered in late February.
/////
Farrow is 26 not 28.
The guy sucks on TV.
They said the same about Chris Hayes
Good Afternoon TODVille.
Linda and Nena, even though I disagree with Chris Hayes over his ultra-leftist positions at time (e.g. Snowflakes is a whistleblower), I will maintain that Hayes has more substance than Ronan.
The question is should Ronan Farrow ever had a show in the first place. And my answer is NO!
Jay is a Saint…..calming, methodologically and using FACTS to tutor idiots………at the WHPC.
Oh no.
Kinda like Nate Siver is a scientist… LOL

Wow, I am happy that Jay schooled Karl on that bogus poll re ACA and cited a more credible poll.
The only thing John Boehner haven’t dodged is a stiff drink and golf course.
I have a strong urge to hug Jay Carney today. He is schooling the jackals big time. His patience with stupid questions is remarkable.
What the fuck is April Ryan’s problem, it’s as if she’s mad that the ACA is working.
Don, don’t even get me started. April Ryan stopped me in my tracks with that bs. The snarky questions, the snickering is just infuriating. I am so embarrassed by these so called journalists.
Even the guy sitting next to her is giving her the side eye.
Can we just hammer Paul Ryan and his ilk with re-tweets of this until they are run out of office?
Someone needs to speak of the GOP run house that will only work less than 100 days this year while they wait for unelected lobbyist to write bills for them that support the 1% who gives them money to run their campaigns’ the 265 days of the year.
I am so impressed with this. Here we have precisely the meaning of free speech. I have FB’d it a couple times, don’t tweet, but I agree with Dudette it must go viral. Paul Ryan must not get away with pretending he is above criticism. In his face.
Jay slapping back the RWNJs on their crony Obamacare talking points was EXQUISITE.
Isn’t he terrific meta. I just love Jay. Whatever he is getting paid, it’s not enough.
LH, I just saw your remark above! JAY IS THE MAN.
LOVE him.
ok meta. You take one arm and I’ll take the other. Jay’s a lucky rascal.
Deal.
I wish Jay could impose sanctions on some of the BIG toddlers for the stupidity of their questions.
Just happened to think that healthcare.gov should have set up links to state voter registration sites, so folks could get health care and register to vote at the same time … as is done at state DMV offices and sites, when people are getting new I.D. cards or driver’s licenses and can also register.
jackie…..they can…

Come on! Why didn’t I realize that? (Why? Because I’m late to the party, that’s why!)
Great news. Thanks, Linda!
I signed my brother up in December for healthcare and I just received the voter registration forms in the mail this weekend. My brother is already registered to vote.
Wonderful!
