Good evening

Good on #1 vetivera24!
#Get Covered. #Election Matters. Thank you President Obama and all the democrats in Congress that voted for ObamaCare in 2010.
Bringing my comment over from bottom of last post.
Again, Thank you Nerdy Wonka for another wonderful surge of coverage of OBAMACARE.
Thank you CHIPS for providing this platform that outshines the lazy media coverage any day of the year.
You both are a tremendous blessing.
Thank you very much, Hope 44.
Amen, Hope44! Nerdy Wonka and Chipsticks have been doing an incredible job! Today, their coverage of OBAMACARE was totally awesome! So let me join you in thanking them. I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all you have been doing to help people get covered.
OMG!!! So much happened today while I was back at work!!
http://immasmartypants.blogspot.com/2014/03/mondays-dont-always-have-to-get-your.html
Mondays don’t always have to get you down. Today was a GREAT one!
So proud of everyone that talked to friends and family about Obamacare…proud of all the navigators and others that signed up everyone that wanted it….makes my heart happy:) These people will tell their friends and their families and so on and so on….and even if some don’t make it this round, they won’t think twice in November for round 2….it will just perpetuate itself …on and on the safety and security of families having healthcare….it’s a wonderful thing!!! No turning back now… FORWARD! Thank you, President Obama and everyone that helped this come to fruition. Now Dems, STICK UP FOR YOUR HARD WORK! THIS WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO! IF YOU DON’T KNOW IT, DON’T FEEL IT IN YOUR BONES, THEN GET THE HELL OUTTA THE WAY FOR SOMEONE THAT DOES!
Hi desertflower,
Here’s what Ed S. reported about the DEMs today;
Ed S. stated that he has been hearing that the DEMS are saying; they don’t want to get burned too early before the election, and they are not ready to come out in full support. They want to wait until they are closer to November.
Here are my questions to the DEMS who are COWARDS.
Who told you that you were promised to win the 2014 election?
Who guaranteed you that you would be here in November 2014?
What I know about life; our yesterdays are gone, tomorrows are not guaranteed or promised, and all you have right now……is TODAY!
Some of these DEMs are taking for granted that they will automatically get the President’s voters, so they can sit back and be safe.
Bush Administration lied us into a war and 4000 plus American lives are lost FOREVER.
***President Obama fought with every thing inside of him to bring America healthcare; possibly SAVING MILLIONS of lives, and they (DEMS) run like chickens with their heads cut off (the elders would say).
However, they expect us to vote for them because let them tell it, we don’t have a choice.
The Democrats are acting like dam cowards, and I don’t like that one bit.
Hey, Cindy:) First of all, let me say that I read your heartbreaking story of your aunt. I can’t imagine what she went through…a proud woman that didn’t want to burden or worry her family….among other things. What a gut wrenching tale that was…but worthy of sharing. You have every right to be enraged by those that would cavalierly blow off the importance of what healthcare means to people and the ones that love them. Harness your white hot passion about this issue, as you are, and write to the newspaper, preach to your friends and others you come in contact with everyday….hugs to you and your family. I love your passion…just make that anger you have work for the good of others.
As far as Ed is concerned, you know what…I don’t really listen to any of those jaw flappers. I don’t care what end of the political spectrum they fall on. Why is their opinion any more informed or better than mine? I read about 18 hours/ day (literally) every day. I really don’t give a rat’s ass what any of them have to say about much….the proof is in the action, the doing. People that run their mouths all day (and get paid for it!) can bite me. Now…that said, I have to give Ed his kudos about his healthcare pushes in NOLA and other cities around the country. Much needed…but if you peel all that back…what that showed all of us is that America has an issue with access to affordable healthcare for its citizens. A right, not a privilege, is being denied and put out of reach for so many of our citizens…and President Obama set out to right that injustice and level the playing field. My heart is full. More to do, tweeks that can be made to make it better/ stronger. But this man, almost single handedly, when the doubters doubted, and the whiners, whined…put his shoulders into this, his heart and soul into this..and got done what others had tried and failed at. So seriously, and excuse my language, I really don’t want to hear what paid pundits have to say, or the rabid nutjobs from any party, the proof of this historic and monumental law and phenomenal peace of mind for its beneficiaries is the proof. Screw them. Screw them all. When I hear stories like yours, and so many others that might have had a different outcome had they had insurance…or the thrill of having insurance for the first time ever…well, that’s what really matters when all is said and done. So proud of this incredible, incredible President. Let’s just say that some could learn a thing or two about doing the right thing even when it’s hard. There are no guarantees in this life, but I believe, like you do, that we do the right thing and speak the truth…the rest will follow. Dems need to be loud and proud! Embrace this like it deserves to be embraced and shout from the rooftops the goodness that is Obamacare. Disprove the lies and tell the truth about this! I hear you, I’m with you:) Trust me though…this is a train going down the track….we’re not turning around, not going back.
Those Dems that want to “pace themselves” better be careful…they wait too long to get in the game and start singing the praises of healthcare, the RW Lie Machine will already have been hard at work for months.
You know what this guy said about a lie:)
“A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”
― Mark Twain
I’m just going to stop and smell the roses today. Celebrate life today. The haters will always be there….but they can’t take this away. Smile and then more work to do:)
ahhhhhhh………desertflower,
Beautifully stated by you. We The People have the power.
The roses are beautiful today, and yes, I am going to fight for this right if I have to, for every family that has received this gift of life.
Amen to your statement! {{{{{{{{{desertflower}}}}}}}}}}
🙂 As you can clearly see, even rights we thought we had fought for and won years ago….still have to be tended to. Nothing in this life is certain….death and taxes. Breathe. We WILL do this!
You Betcha!
Cindy, your outrage is fully justified and I share it, but I don’t think Ed can speak for “Dem” candidates in general. Every Dem candidate who runs is going to be looking for our support. So..starting now, we make that support conditional. You (Dem candidate) fight the good fight on health care and we support you. Show cowardice on this issue and forget about asking for money or making phone calls. We have a lot of power and it’s up to us to use it.
Just a reminder: President Obama put this Wise Latino on the High Court 🙂
Wise Latina 🙂
A very wise Latina, Indeed! I am so proud of her and of my wise President who put her on the Supreme Court.
JOURNALISM’S FIRST OBLIGATION IS TO TELL THE TRUTH
Principles of Journalism
—————————————
1. Journalism’s first obligation is to the truth
Democracy depends on citizens having reliable, accurate facts put in a meaningful context. Journalism does not pursue truth in an absolute or philosophical sense, but it can–and must–pursue it in a practical sense. This “journalistic truth” is a process that begins with the professional discipline of assembling and verifying facts. Then journalists try to convey a fair and reliable account of their meaning, valid for now, subject to further investigation. Journalists should be as transparent as possible about sources and methods so audiences can make their own assessment of the information. Even in a world of expanding voices, accuracy is the foundation upon which everything else is built–context, interpretation, comment, criticism, analysis and debate. The truth, over time, emerges from this forum. As citizens encounter an ever greater flow of data, they have more need–not less–for identifiable sources dedicated to verifying that information and putting it in context.

I guess there aren’t many left who subscribe to this, eh?
Apparently not.
I now can’t remember the wise TOD member who said this on one of the previous posts, but he/she was absolutely right: “Journalism is Dead” in the United States!
Fantastic. Every racist police department should be made to do the same. Maybe, just maybe, they might learn a lesson.
The supposed to be ‘One Term President’ outsmarts the GOP again. When will they ever learn not to bet against this man
or try to outsmart him? I guess the answer is never, since they have tried so many times just to come away with egg on their faces.
We will surpass the 7 million by midnight. This President has fought so long and hard for this day and has been handsomely
rewarded with the outpouring of people signing up. He always told us that he is a fourth quarter player, and today he proves it once again.
May you continue to be blessed with divine wisdom and boldness Mr President, as you fight for the American people.
We will remember in November.
I am so emotional about this final day of sign-up. I can’t adequately describe my feelings at this point. I’ll just say I am very grateful
for this day and for President Obama.
I am feeling very emotional too!
Amen, Hope 44.
That Idaho man should have gotten life in prison.
Agreed totally.
Well, NW, I hope that is without possibility of parole.
This IS the point! http://pleasecutthecrap.com/if-the-republicans-are-so-awesome-why-do-they-always-have-to-cheat/
FTW!!
And despite what Chucky “GOP” Todd, Jonathan Karl, Fox, the other media and the GOP says we will stand in line to keep the GOP from getting the Senate, and we will do our best to get the House back, or make some big gains.
I modified and tweeted this. So good.
Okay. I am done….
Ms. Chips, if you only knew how much this has been playing in my mind all week.
I am so grateful to you, my Sister for connecting these two lines of people with still….HOPE.
I refuse to get angry in these last minutes about anything or anybody.
I just get sick thinking about those who have insurance coverage and do not want others to share the experience.
What is really sickens me is you would deny others because you hate one man because of the color of his skin.
That to me is so inhumane.
Even in the animal kingdom they care for the wounded, if at all possible.
They will stop to at least lick the wounds of the wounded.
I just want to stay in the presence of what it feels like when human beings can all have access to affordable health care.
I am so grateful to be alive and I thank God for President Barack. H. Obama for all of his effort, hard work and determination to stay focus.
If there is anyone who is purposely denying health care for those who desires it, entitled to it and need it, well, you can just go to hell!
Hey, hey… ho, ho… Paul Ryan’s got to GO!
Okay, come on, this funny!
Hu’s on first?
Who? 😀
Yep 😉
Best Opening Day tweet!!!
Very, very funny. Thanks, Dudette.
I have been badgering my son for months to sign up for ACA. Right now at this very moment he is sitting on the phone trying to get into the system. Now part of this is not his fault. He did try to sign up on line a few weeks ago, but got stuck. So he doesn’t know if he’s actually in the system, but doesn’t think so. Maryland’s website was the pits. They had to fire the company who designed the website. So it has not been easy in Maryland for a lot of people. The only thing I can hope for at this point is that time doesn’t run out and my son can get through on the phone. It’s too bad he didn’t persevere when he had the chance 😦
I hope he makes it tonight!
Thanks. My momma use to say a hard head makes for a soft behind. One thing about adult children – you can’t force them to do the right thing.
Indeed! 🙂
Sabreen, I had the same problem with my very grown son–he procrastinated and procrastinated and I kept urging and urging. Finally I said, “I know I can’t make you do anything, but I’m really disappointed.” Well that did it and the following week he signed up. No matter how old your children are, they don’t like you to be disappointed in them.
Fingers crossed for your son!!
Thank to you also Meta. {{{{{sigh}}}}}
Thank you President Obama for OBAMACARE. Your extraordinary effort in getting this law passed despite all the obstruction and naysayers is amazing.
❤ ❤ ❤
This vid made me cry because I love my President sooooo much. Yes I love love love love him so. – shared.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Debra. This is one of my devotional songs for President Obama. HZ
Wow, really?
I can’t get too excited, since the GOP (and many other Americans ) hold Reagan up in high regard, despite his role in the Iran debacle.
For sure, THIS!
Why is this idiot man still working in the main stream media. He’s an utter incompetent.
Looking forward to watching Bates Motel on A & E tonight. That’s my new “vice” for this year. Who knows what my vice will be next year…
I watch that one with my wife. Norma and Norman are both nuttier than squirrel shit!
LOL!
Indeed. And they’re getting nuttier by the episode! LOL…I DVR it so that I can FF thru the commercials. Glad to see that at least one other TODer is watching it!! 🙂
We DVR it too so we can watch it together after the crumb snatchers are in bed.
Heh LOL 🙂 Well enjoy tonight’s episode! Hopefully it will be as good as last week’s.
A tragic and unbelievable amount of human generated garbage in even the most remote areas of our oceans. Garbage everywhere.
Killing our ocean environments/circle of life.
Way way back, in late 70’s, Jacques Cousteau and his group wrote of seeing garbage from one side to the other of our oceans in their research and studies. He predicted at the time, if change and reversal did not begin immediately, by 2050 all the worlds’ oceans would be one big cesspool, devoid of life. We are only 35 years from 2050, when shall we heed the warnings?

Wow, look at the depths to which a desperate media will sink, spreading scare stories like this today:
http://news.yahoo.com/photos/people-tried-sign-health-care-photo-232457758.html
Oh Chips, I’ve been trying to get on the happy train all day, and something was just niggling at me. Hence why I wrote the piece for tomorrow. The fuckery is just too much some times. (Don’t worry, it has my usual up ending, because fuck them if they’re going to get me down.)
I know LL, this madness would get you down, but the Obamacare surge would lift any spirits – they shill and shill and shill, but they can’t keep a great thing down. Like the President.
That’s not new though. There have been some scams like that going on for a while now. I’ve run across them myself when trying to look up stuff on ACA a couple of months ago. There are crooks out there laying in wait for the uninformed, vulnerable and gullible.
Exactly Dudette, these stories have been doing the rounds for months, but they time it for today. No words.
There is also stuff like a group that continually calls me, saying they are from my insurance program, letting me know that I still need to choose a PCP, and they will be happy to help me, etc, etc, etc. They seem not to know that I signed up for a PCP with my REAL program quite a while ago, and that program has been awesome in keeping my records and communicating with me!! So, I let it go to voice mail, and of course I reported them to the care program I’m covered with. They can handle it. Bogus, bogus, bogus.
This is why we can’t have nice things:
Hey there LL! Thought I saw you in here!
Saw your piece! Nice work! 🙂
Thank you kindly, ma’am. It’ll drop on here tomorrow.
Excellent!
GE TOD: For you ‘West Wing’ fans….. this is the show that put Aaron Sorkin on the map…..and is still a cult hit. Josh Malina(Scandal) Josh Charles(Good Wife) were part of the original cast.
“Josh Charles…..stopped by Keith Olbermann’s show this weekend, and ran down the highlights in character as Rydell, the wise-cracking sportscaster from Aaron Sorkin’s amazing but short-lived Sports Night. And while Casey, Isaac, and Dana were nowhere to be found, watching Charles wax poetic about urine samples and the Sweet 16 was an incredibly satisfying five minutes of television for those of us who have spent many a night with the CSC team…….”
egg.sack.lee, motherfuckers
Apparantley FireFox creator is anti-equality:
That okcupid story blew me away. I wouldn’t have expected a company to take that bold a stance. Bravo for them.
Truly a Pro Life President:) Bet that chaps their ass!
President Obama is the most pro-Life President we have had since Ike, df. Of that, there is no question. And, yes, it serves to highlight the boundless hypocrisy and evil of not just Republicans but any variety of #NEOCONSTER.
Bob – Forgive me – but shouldn’t that combat deaths part include “in March” (mentioning so we can R/T the hell out of it).
Hi Jacqueline, given constraint of 140 characters and all that I wanted to include in the tweet that was the best I could do. Please feel free to edit and improve.
#FORWARD Together
Best headline in 10 years.
Hallelujah.
Bring the troops home , all the troops. 2014, Please President Obama
Pro-life republicans everywhere are plumb distraught.
This is just TOO CUTE!!! 🙂
I’m surprise the baby didn’t grab the ears. But she/he sure has a cute smile on their face. What is the other kid doing?
POTUS pictures with kids are so precious.
I know we say that often, but they are. They really are. 🙂
Such a cute little guy. He sure turned out ‘good’, didn’t he?
Yes he did, Dotster!
Love it Chipsticks.
Evening folks. Just catching up and watched the Rachael Ray video from the last post. As usual, Uncle Joe brought his A game. I particularly loved his last line to young folks. If they don’t think they need to get health insurance for themselves, they should still get for their moms and the moms’ peace of mind. I really wish I had heard that even more before now.
Bless Rachel for her ACA reporting show tonight.
Rachel Maddow is on fire tonight pushing back against this absurd notion that the administration is “cooking the books” regarding the number of persons signing up for Obamacare
Mellesia, I just logged on to deliver the exact same message. Rachel mirrored the joy I’ve been feeling all day. Funny conversation with Zeke Emmanuel about how, now that Obamacare is now Indisputably a part of our country’s policy and practice health care will go back to being as boring as it used to be.
GOP wishing for a death spiral would drown the ACA—that’s over.
Been at work all day today. Has anyone posted this already today?
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/03/31/obamacare-by-the-numbers.html
Consider these numbers from a Kaiser Foundation poll from last week. Percent who like the ACA’s extension of dependent coverage: 76. Percent supportive of the act’s closing of the Medicare drug “donut hole”: 73. Percent favoring “guaranteed issue” of coverage to people who are already sick: 69. Percent who back the Medicaid expansion: 62.
Oh, wait. Those are the Republican percentages. The overall percentages, respectively, are 80, 79, 70, and 74.
It’s the same old disconnect. Just as majorities of even rank-and-file Republicans support things like restricting the gun-show loophole (indeed a majority of NRA members support that), majorities of Republicans back these and other basic common-sense provisions of the ACA. And yet these same Republicans keep reelecting to Congress a horde of dishonest and ideologically driven harlots who’ve voted 50-whatever times to do away with all these positive changes.
STAND UP, DEMS! DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!!
Hardly ever forward a link to anything associated with Kos, but this one is worthwhile …
Christie is going to do jail time the only remaining question is for how many years.

Thank you.
They call it Puppy ❤ ❤ ❤
I say The Ultimate Puppy ❤
As The Soul Diva would sing:
Change, change, change………
Sam Cooke’s:
Change is gonna come.
Fitting in many ways.
So Fox had a False Graphic on ACA?
Wow. No wonder Chuck Todd said it is Not his job to report the truth.
Bill Hammer was the presenter when this happened. This guy spent 10yrs or so at CNN before jet-setting to Fox in 2005.
This completely always chokes me up:
Meta thanks so much for posting this video. I don’t remember seeing it. Loved it.
Chips put it together from the longer fabulous National Geographic documentary narrated by Pete Souza. It sums up so much about our President and how he chose to use his first term. LOVE him.
That was so wonderful! Thank you so much, Meta, for sharing it again. I don’t care what any one else says, President Barack Obama is the best president in my lifetime.
Oh my gosh. I’m feeling so nostalgic today. SO many incredible memories about his fight. People forget how hard it was for so long…..BUT we prevailed thanks to the greater forces of good will in the universe.
It’s really overwhelming.
THIS!!!!! That video just brought everything back to the surface.
“BUT we prevailed thanks to the greater forces of good will in the universe.” Summed up so beautifully, Meta. (((((Love you)))))))HZ
New post.
