The Week Ahead

President Obama boards Air Force One at Ramstein Air Base, Saturday, March 29, in Germany. Air Force One was making a scheduled refueling stop in Germany and he was using the opportunity to meet with US members of the military.

The President is scheduled to arrive at Andrews tonight at 8:25 EDT

The Week Ahead:

Let’s hope he gets some of this tomorrow:

      In case yo missed it, here is my comment from the previous thread.

      You go sister Dudette! These people don’t know who they are messing with! President Obama’s supporters, like you and many other people here at TOD, are some of the most brilliant people! Just compare the President, in pure overpowering motion, with that champ Putin sitting there in the water, being wet-nursed by the Dolphins. The question is: can Putin gracefully conquer the powerful waves?

        Thanks Nath! My President personifies power and grace. Putin’s just a wannabe with a Napoleon complex.

    *Chipsticks, dear provider of educational photos and info all the day long: I am trying to find that pic you sometimes post of the neo-nazi guy eff’ing gg defended pro bono, with the red underlined quote. I realize it’s way ot, but if you could post it here for me, I will forever be at your service, and I know that is a hugely huge thing to offer!! (Long story, but (another of my 9) brothers sent me a referral to a book by gg, slamming PBO of course for not releasing the classified info on MJ16, and seems to think gg is a valid source of authority. Sheesh. I’m trying to set home straight.)

    http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO God speed your way safely home, Mr. President, he knows you have done more work in this past week than any other president or congress has done in years!

      Thanks for posting this, hf. I’d been meaning to contribute but not getting it done.
      Now it is done.

      This guy deserves a medal for his tremendous efforts and some TV appearances.
      He will be the new target for RW liars.

      The funniest cartoon after the 2012 election was of a rich guy looking miserable and an overturned book on the floor next to him with the title “Nate Silver Can’t Add.”

    Get Chris Christie off my TV screen. It is my astute observation that more TV time has been devoted to the Innocent One in the last 2 days than was given to all the historic, remarkable appearances of the POTUS this entire week, or to FLOTUS on all her engaging activities in China.
    Media Fail—-as usual, misplaced priorities again.

      No. Their mission is only about controversy. Not news or what is important. PBO had a fabulous trip and accomplished a lot. Very little reporting about his accomplishments. Their primary focus was on how strong Putin is or what the President & the Pope may not agree on. It doesn’t matter that they agree and a lot of issues.

      All the so called reporters traveling with him did was to try to embarrass him. I am very proud of our President. He is extremely calm and patient. I don’t know how he does it. He always shows dignity and grace even when he’s surrounded by fools.

    It’s infuriating that MSM doesn’t give this President his due.

    What an exhausting schedule for both PBO and Secretary Kerry.

    They are both focused and determined on what’s best for the world (“The Obama Doctrine”), but MSM can’t be bothered to do much except spew GOP talking points. Everything the GOP says they want (except for lower — or better yet, no — taxes on the 1%) this President has accomplished on the domestic front. The GOP recognize that Americans are war-weary and don’t have the appetite for another round of losing battles, losing our young men and women. Hence the gut-wrenching situation in Syria, but the MSM FAIL to mention that Congress had the option to approve air strikes, but didn’t. It’s much easier to blame President Obama.

    Let’s see how MSM will spin this climate change documentary in their negative fashion.

    This documentary airs on April 13, and is titled “Years of Living Dangerously.”

    Please, please, please DO NOT feed your dogs jerky treats (or ANY TREATS!) from China!!!

  26. March 29, 2014 at 7:31 pm

    This has been mentioned several times here, but I’m reposting because it represents reason number 887 why the MSM believe it’s their duty to attack the Obama Administration. They understand their increasing irrelevance… (see LL’s essay on this topic earlier this week)

    “’Chinese do not only see this leader to leader. They see it family to family and in a broader context the respect of the two great countries, he [Cheng Li, director of the John L. Thornton China Center at the Brookings Institution.] said. ‘This is why people got so excited.’

    Social media, which has exploded in China, likely contributed to the enormous number of page views Obama’s visit garnered.”

    It was for these folks that PBO extended the ACA deadline. Some in Miami waiting 8 hours for enrollment assistance. Hopefully things work out for them.

  29. March 29, 2014 at 7:38 pm

    Here’s one journalist who doesn’t consider himself part of the MSM.

    He replies and acts on tweeted responses.

    He’s close to 2000 followers, and for whatever reason followed me back when I recently started following him.

    He’s a #Snowdenwald skeptic, his views on Syria won’t appeal to many Obots. For anyone who is not completely heartless and cruel, the Syria situation there is an unspeakable horror. With Assad and Putin as cronies, it’s a very delicate and complex situation that doesn’t have any black-and-white, right or wrong answers.

    Anyway, here’s the tweet I was referring to.

    Here’s the article:

    sensing a clear pattern on PBO and the exceptionally dedicated US Air force, US Marine crew & USSS that is charged with safely getting him from one place to another – they always find a way to cross the time zones as fast as possible and get PBO home early (not that there is anything wrong with it ……;

    FYI ….

    “California: Suggestions of even larger numbers?
    by Charles Gaba on Sat, 03/29/2014 – 1:39pm

    I included the 80K in 4 days info yesterday, but didn’t realize the implications of the second sentence until a commentor pointed it out:

    The Covered California exchange said sign-ups have been building throughout the week with about 80,000 people picking a health plan Monday through Thursday. An additional 150,000 households created an online account and started the shopping process in the last three days, officials said.

    That’s 50,000 households–not individuals–PER DAY who JUST ceated an account for 3 days straight.

    Pretty sure most of those are actually enrolling even as I type this.

    I think this final weekend surge is going to be MUCH larger than even I’ve been projecting.

    Gotta run for the moment, but I’m going ahead and calling it 6.7 million exchange-based QHPs as of now.”

    confession: I do not know WHO the rapper in this story is;

    but: the fact that some imbecile choose to shoot at people in a funeral procession (and specifically shoot at this rapper when he was in his mother’s funeral procession) makes really sad and angry at the same time;

    people please, stop the killings – too many lives lost at the point of a gun;
