The Hague Declaration

1. We, the leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission met in The Hague to reaffirm our support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.

2. International law prohibits the acquisition of part or all of another state’s territory through coercion or force. To do so violates the principles upon which the international system is built. We condemn the illegal referendum held in Crimea in violation of Ukraine’s constitution. We also strongly condemn Russia’s illegal attempt to annex Crimea in contravention of international law and specific international obligations. We do not recognize either.

3. Today, we reaffirm that Russia’s actions will have significant consequences. This clear violation of international law is a serious challenge to the rule of law around the world and should be a concern for all nations. In response to Russia’s violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to demonstrate our determination to respond to these illegal actions, individually and collectively we have imposed a variety of sanctions against Russia and those individuals and entities responsible. We remain ready to intensify actions including coordinated sectoral sanctions that will have an increasingly significant impact on the Russian economy, if Russia continues to escalate this situation.

Hello. What a day! So glad he is OUR president.
Sure would be nice to have his lovely lady there with him. I know she , Mom and the girls are having fun. But I just like to see the best looking couple travel together and everyone see how great they are apart as well as together.

Today I discovered that the Swedes invented squeezable bacon. I think I’m ready for the Apocalypse now. Our civilization is beyond redemption.

    • March 24, 2014 at 6:04 pm

How on earth can one country produce Zlatan Ibrahimovic and squeezable bacon?

      • March 24, 2014 at 6:06 pm

And remember: some people like both.

        • March 24, 2014 at 6:07 pm

My Swedish grandparents weren’t weird. They taught me how to milk a cow, which now that I think about it was a little weird. And how to gather the eggs. And they even named their piggies, I think, as my grandpa would yell out “Suey, Suey” in their presence. I think they would think the squeezable bacon was really weird—–and wrong! They would say, “Oh, my word” or “Oh, my land”.

    This is an interesting read:

    I Was Putin’s Pawn

What it was like to work for the Russian propaganda machine, and why I quit on live TV.

    By ELIZABETH WAHL

    One clip:

“Soon our attention shifted to the 2012 presidential election. In RT’s eyes, only one candidate mattered: Ron Paul. I don’t remember Paul ever speaking to RT during campaign season, but that didn’t stop our obsessive coverage of the “rock star” candidate. After a while the bosses’ fixation with him seemed bizarre. Why were they pushing non-stop coverage of this long shot? Something tells me it wasn’t his message of freedom and liberty but his non-interventionist stance and consistent criticism of U.S. foreign policy. His message fit RT’s narrative—that the United States is a huge bully.”

WOW—that’s very interesting Bob. I do remember seeing a sudden influx of “Ron Paul 2012” type propaganda in 2011 and 2012 and felt there was something odd about it. In the comments section of just about every online article and social media like YouTube, there would be a ton of pro-Ron Paul comments. Even OWS had an odd but definite Libertarian streak that I couldn’t really explain. And this explains a lot why these Libertarians /Faux left are Putin/Russia apologists. He supports their guy…

Bob, thanks so much for bringing Liz’ story to us. She didn’t hold anything back. But I worry about her future employment when I saw this last statement…”Elizabeth Wahl is a correspondent based in Washington, D.C. with no plans of visiting Russia in the near future. She is interested in rejoining the labor force with a news organization dedicated to reporting the truth.”

She may never find an organization dedicated to reporting the truth..oh wait…she could join us here at TOD!

      Happy Monday to you!

Thank you for sharing, both stories are just heart breaking. For that little girl (2nd story) to see her dad suffer and then pass away; no words for such a senseless death. We have a world filled with good people and a world filled with evil people, when the two collides, it seems that the good die young.

Okay. Let me just get this off my chest since it is just you and I, NCLB.

I agree totally with Ms. Chip’s Mom on one of the previous posts. My heart just flips-and-flops whenever POB trots up and down stairs.
I must add that I have always thought it was sexy how a man with swag walks but going up and down the stairs has been such a turn on for me. Especially living in NYC taking the subway. As you know the stairs are required. I cannot tell you how many times I have marveled at the men who takes two steps at a time.

Not all men can do this, of course. After studying this for years, I have come to the conclusion that most of the men are tall, handsome and very, very confident. I usually have the chance of witnessing this when they are in flight for not missing a train. However, what a magnificent display of coordination. I am usually the one tripping and falling because of watching them and getting out of their way.
I remember once being helped up by a “swagger-style-step-guy” ( that is what I call them) while he dashed into the train in perfect timing. Left me there as the doors closed in my face wondering …….who was that guy?

NYC subway has a life of its own. My President’s fancy steppin reminds me what humble confidence looks like. When you know whose you are and who you are, it’s a piece of cake. Ms. Chips tell Mom I feel her.

I think of her every time he does this.
And, of course, I HAVE to go run down into the subway……to buy a Metro card!
P.S. I have been retired since 2010 and I walk everywhere, so I give these cards away as gifts.

            Hi anniebella,

            Happy Monday to you!

I saw that disgusting picture, and read the article and it hurts; to know that people can believe that calling Blacks monkeys is a joke, is ignorance in pure form. I remember when Senator Obama would have rallies, and “they” would show up with monkeys attached to their shoulders. This word, was just as painful and toxic, as being called the N______ word when I was growing up.

It carried the negative connotation of not being a human being. I will tell you, no one was laughing when we were called monkeys, except for the ones who did the name calling. It was hurtful then and I still find it hurtful. No apology from that country is acceptable for doing this. How ignorant they are.

I did notice in the last picture where King Alexander Willem is speaking, both PBO and Merkel are smiling…..his is a big smile, and hers is, well big for her!
The Dutch are interesting with their monarchies. Willem’s mother abdicated, because she thought it was time for her to, and for a younger person to reign. That is amazing and wonderful to me. Queen Eliz could take a few lessons from Queen Beatrix I think! A voluntary giving up of station and/or power is surprising.

Why on earth is Rush Limpbag allowed to be on air?

Reverend Al played a clip from his show today regarding Limpbag’s comments about our 1st family.

Rush…..They are over there wasting tax payers money. They say that this trip is based on an exchange with China. How do we know this? Is Michele Obama going to leave her mother there in China for the exchange? He said more but this was just low.

This man is the scum of the earth. They are always working on getting people to believe lies about this 1st family. Can I say it? I DESPISE him greatly and I hope that his days on air, will one day end abruptly. He is toxic waste for this country.

        Hi Betsy,

My thoughts have always been, why do they give so much time to replaying the hate and lies that come from the repukes. I don’t bother with MSNBC too much anymore. If I am watching it and they start replaying the mess, I change the channel. Today, I wanted to hear what this creep had said about Mrs. Obama and the family. I love Rev. Al and his support for President Obama but there are times that he has spent too much of his show replaying the negative comments from the repukes.

I feel as you do Betsy..repeating his racist trash…just repeats the slur again….

One name for Edward Snowden to remember, Osama bin Laden. It took ten years, but he received his justice and so will Edward Snowden. Everyday I am more convince that the concern for Americans privacy had nothing to do with him stealing the stuff he stole. He’s a darn traitor and he meant to do harm to this country.

I am with you anniebella – privacy had nothing to do with anything. He didn’t give a rats as* that he put our military at risk either. You are right Karma does have a way of catching up to a person.

I wonder what Hillary meant when she said that she was “very much concerned about the direction of the country”, that it’s not who gets elected, it’s what they do when they get there——at the event this last weekend.
That seeming anti-Obama rhetoric does not seem smart or a political win to me. Unless she was only talking about the Repubs, but that sure wasn’t clear.

I heard some of Hillary and Billary and as I said before I have just about had enough of Hillary Clinton. As of today I will not vote for her if she runs in 2016.

She’s being deliberately ambiguous so that her comments will be interpreted by intended audiences as she means it, while giving her enough wiggle room to cover her butt and deny if someone accuses her of criticizing the country under PBO’s Presidency.

I always have the feeling that everything she says she runs by a focus group first so that it doesn’t offend anyone, or really mean very much. I firmly believe that she does not have a strong inner core, no north star that guides her. She bends to whatever is popular on whatever day. Her husband did, and that is how they have operated for over forty years. Yes, deliberately ambiguous, and really says nothing. She does that funny laugh, and slides out. Not impressed…..haven’t been, and am not becoming so.

Also, I am TIRED of Clintons, and TIRED of Bushes. I hope neither one runs. There are over 300 million people in this country and we can find at least a dozen that do not have either name who would be excellent office holders. I still think that we do not know who the Democratic nominee will be, that that person may not even have come to the forefront yet, or is someone we know about, but who is not making noise, but quietly and consistently working on the ground and building an organization…….like someone else did.

        Hi hopefruit2,

You nailed it. My thoughts have been that she is playing it safe. I don’t want safe. If you want my vote, you better get out there and earn it, and that starts with the 2014 election, not 2016.

I still believe that some of these Dems believe that they will automatically have President Obama’s voters and they don’t have to earn our vote. They believe that we are stuck with their rear ends and don’t have a choice, and Bill and Hillary are believing this BS.

        • March 24, 2014 at 8:58 pm

There is nothing special about Hillary Clinton…There is something very special about President Obama… that is it in a nutshell….I doubt whether Colin Powell would call Hillary Clinton a transformational figure….

although Hillary Clinton is not my first choice ….I would vote for her over any Republican…

I share your opinion. It did not sit well with me when I heard her comments. The fact that she ignored talking about President Obama and his efforts and the efforts of the Democratic Party really bothered me. I felt she was saying she could get things done. I’m sorry, I don’t like the idea of her running for President. I would prefer someone fresh and totally behind PBO and wanting to continue the wonderful things PBO has done, not an old, stale former politician who couldn’t even run a good campaign.

When people tell you and show you who they are, believe them.

I know all I need to know about the Clinton’s from they way they conducted themselves and she conducted her campaign in 2008.

      Nothing new to see.

Yes I heard that the birther talk first came from the Clinton camp in 2008.

Think about how they ran a campaign deficit and President Obama helped her to payoff her debts. They are the 90’s and it’s over, I don’t want to go backward. We are moving forward-period.

first we hit them in their pockets, then we hit them a little lower…. 🙂

‘ In the wake of Russia’s annexation of Crimea, some Ukrainians have been boycotting Russian goods. And some Ukrainian women are boycotting the oldest “good” of them all. The campaign, “Don’t Give It to a Russian” encourages women to “fight the enemy by whatever means,” on its Facebook page.

The initiative borrows its slogan from the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko’s 1838 poem, Kateryna: “Fall in love, O dark-browed maidens, but not with the Moskaly [the Russians],” according to the news site Global Voices. ‘
