Does Andrea Mitchell and NBC want a war with Russia, or what? Just trying to damage President Obama and Dems pre-midterms? Mitchell just gave a GOP talking points report on Today——that Putin is “defying President Obama”, that the announced sanctions are a joke and that if nothing further is done, the U.S. risks loss of perception of power and prestige etc. etc. McCain’s rants were added for further emphasis. This is our present day news media, and I would ignore but they still have viewers and influence in the millions.

This has been the entire media narrative, not just from Mitchell/NBC – I saw the same thing last night with Martha Radditz on ABC news. And currently Laura Rozen and her Twitter minions are aggressively spinning this very complex situation into a superficial “Obama-weak-SUX” meme.

These people are so pathologically threatened by Barack Obama, that they cannot view any event domestic or international, with the proper perspective. They are constantly trying to undermine him and create their own projected reality with their 24/7 concern trolling – despite what the facts show.

When Putin went into Georgia in 2008 what did NBC, ABC, CBS, Mrs Greenspan (A. Mitchell), John McCain have to say about G.W. Bush response? What did Bush do?

But none of that is even being mentioned for many Dems don’t stand tall and defend this president as they did Clinton. They don’t challenge any bad press. They quietly sit out and only come out when the water is warm and the media sharks are not looking for food.

Where is the DNC? Where are Dems in the senate from the Foreign Committee? Where are those in the House? Where are former Dems who know better?

Primary day and I have too many people to vote against, sadly. A call last night asked me to vote in the GOP primary to stop the ‘horriblest’ of the horrible candidates for gov., who is way ahead in the polls, proving that a bored billionaire can buy a candidacy by spending millions of his own money running ads constantly for months.
But—–in our congressional dist., we have a fake Dem running to face current rep., tea party nutcase Randy Hultgren. One Dem is highly qualified and educated, and the other is a religious nutjob, a graduate of a religious nutjob college——-one of many who are running in Dem primaries across the country———religious nutjobs trying to ensure that no matter who wins, a Repub religious nutjob is in position. Frightening and ugly.

Good morning everyone!! What a wonderful way to wake up this morning:) Today happens to be “df’s daughter’s birthday” ! Seems like only yesterday…but it was 23 years ago…(why can I remember this event so clearly and remember next to nothing about yesterday?) Anyway…it’s her day today!

    I found this: http://thedailybanter.com/2014/03/award-winning-journalist-thomas-ricks-goes-to-war-against-greenwald-on-russia-silence/

Seems like others are FINALLY getting a clue about the frauds that are GG/Snowjob. Hope others start calling these self serving idiots out! Good read. If you were on the fence about them, or know someone that is…this should do it!

HE WAS THE DECIDER, AFTER ALL: In new court filings, the federal government has acknowledged that for years before it was approved by a judge, the government collected information on millions of Americans’ phone and Internet activity, on no authority other than George W. Bush’s say-so.

I’ve said all along that if every young black male advertised that he had a gun the right would go with background, frontground and allaroundtheground checks. Congress would have no problem passing any law restricting gun availability. This video is Right.On.Point!!!

      • March 18, 2014 at 9:40 am

In fact that happened in Calil with Gov Reagon….The Black Panther Party…starting brandishing guns in the community….gun control was passed very swiftly…

outstanding video. Thanks for bringing it here.
Problem might be that gun industry just wants to sell more and more weapons and won’t necessarily care to whom it sells or what the results will be. A sale is a sale.

    GM all,

As Dotster pointed out, today is primary day in the great state of Illinois. I was at the polls at 7:15 on my way to work. We have two cholces in how we wnat to vote: paper ballot or touch screen. I chose paper and was finished in about 2 minutes. Most of the Dem races were unopposed. Even in a primary, I will not vote for a Republican. When I turned in the ballot it was only the scond one that was done that way, and it looked like there had been only a total of about 5 votes cast, GOP and Dem combined.

Dotster is right, the likely GOP candidate for Governor is a smoothtalking multi-millionaire who, if he is the candidate, probably has a decent chance to win in November. Our current governor, Pat Quinn, is a fairly competent man, but the state is a mess in many ways, mostly not his fault. The state income tax was raised 2 percent a couple years ago to try to get the state back on decent financial footing and the GOP candidates are running on rolling it back. The problem in Illinouis is that the constitution does not allow for a progressive tax, all incomes are taxed at the same level.

The likely GOP candidate basically talks two things: rolling back the tax increase and working to get term limits. I hear nothing else from him and if that is all he campaigns on, he will probably win, and then who knows how much damage he will do.

I’m depressed, too. We didn’t get notice of a new polling place until yesterday. We’ve lived in this neighborhood for 27 years, and Mr. 57 said it took him 35 minutes to find this place — a one-way street buried between bigger streets, impossible to get to. I’ll be surprised if 20 people bother to find this place.

I’m very worried about Rauner. He will turn this state into WI or OH with that ‘govt. sucks’ b.s. Quinn is competent and means well but is not inspiring or quick on his feet.

      So much work to do…….

This has bothered me also——-that the pronouncements from the Malaysian PM pointing fingers at the pilot, that all U.S. news services seem to take as gospel, are clouded by politics.

    http://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/thank-goodness-romney-isnt-president/

t has become fashionable in the last few months to give Romney credit for “prescience” on Russia in the 2012 campaign, as if he did anything more than echo ignorant hard-line talking points that didn’t show the slightest understanding of the relevant issues. He uttered a nonsensical claim about Russia as “our number one geopolitical foe,” which is still very wrong, and most of his defenders still don’t understand how laughable this was. All that Romney demonstrated as a candidate was a knee-jerk hostility to Obama’s policies and equally reflexive hostility to improving relations with Russia. To the extent that he had a coherent idea for how to approach Russia differently, he thought that Russia should be provoked at every turn and that cooperation should be avoided. This approach was rightly mocked during the campaign, and one can only imagine how much more poisonous relations with Russia would be now if it had been official policy for almost five years before the crisis in Ukraine. Had Romney been carrying out his preferred policy towards Russia over the last year, relations would be considerably worse, and we would be saddled with an administration that would go out of its way to clash with Russia on every issue.

because it was never ever about changing…it was about trying to present the same message in a new way…like a con job….but it is hard to do when the elected GOP continues to make policy that hurts the working poor and the middle class…

For once Tom Coburn and I agree. He said:

    http://politicalwire.com/archives/2014/03/18/quote_of_the_day.html

“Las Vegas takes advantage of every weakness that we have. That’s what power in Washington does. Power is a tool. And how you use it is a discerning attribute of your character.”

    — Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), quoted by the New York Times.

Let’s hold this up to the light and see how Republicans have shown them selves to be when they have power, shall we?
