I was just revisiting yesterday’s thread on Bo and for the first time figured out that Bo most likely was named after Barack (B) Obama (o).
It took me 5 years to figure that out. hahahahahahaha.
Actually, no spin, I believe BO was named after a relative of the Obama girls since they were given the right to choose his name. My memory is hazy, though.
I was trying to remember why they called him Bo – thank you Wikipedia!
“…. given the name “Charlie” by his original owners, the puppy received his current name from President Obama’s two daughters, Malia and Sasha, in part after their cousins’ cat and Michelle Obama’s father’s nickname Diddley; the dog is a namesake of deceased singer Bo Diddley.”
I totally love the look on that young girl’s face. She must be one of those young people we’ve been told have lost faith in the president. In media opposite world, overwhelming support for the president’s positions, joy on seeing him, shouts of “We love you” when in speaks at high schools and campuses means “we don’t support you.” Funny how that works.
Good morning, Pf. It’s darn scary and keeps me awake at night when I think about it. I’m very afraid for the citizens of Ukraine who are going to shed a lot of blood because of this maniac.
Please read the NY Times front page article by Jonathan Martin this morning. Keep in mind that Jonathan Martin was hired away from Politico a Propaganda Agency he was a founding member of.
The glaring lie in this cesspool of a “story” is about The President’s poll numbers.
Then comes the expected blowing up FL congressional race into a forecast of doom for democrats, which it is NOT.
Followed by how hideous for democrats is Scott Brown’s run in NH even though it is unlikely that Jeanne Shaheen will lose this race.
Of course there is the RW and Blue Dog– Dog Whistle about the ACA. What? You thought only Paul Ryan did dog whistles?
I think when anyone talks about fixing the ACA it is not Obamacare they think needs the fix.
I think your resume of the item is sufficient – you have covered the reality – the Scott Brown issue makes me laugh – all the right wing, free enterprise, hate government folks who seem unable to survive except at the expense of the taxpayer – or do they simply live on campaign funds/PAC expenses?
Vicki, thank you for wading through the cesspool and saving us the trouble of reading this crap. My feeling about the Dem gloom and doom in 2014 is that it might make R’s over confident and that’s a good thing. I believe the secret ingredient in November will be the great unhappiness people in many states feel about the 2010 R governors. Despite all the Koch brothers efforts, these people have been scourges on the states and many voters are fed up with them. I know some people in PA who would crawl over hot coals to vote Corbett out. All we can do is work as hard as we can to save our country–because that’s really what’s at stake
And we are having a new senate election in one state because votes were lost in a recount, which I guess is better than having the courts declare the winners – the court determined a new vote was needed. I always thought we had a great electoral system where these sorts of things never happen – silly me.
🙂 Dotster – confession: The basic step in Irish dancing is the 1-2-3. I could not even conquer that when I had to do Irish dancing in school, the teacher said I was the first student she ever had who couldn’t manage it. So, in short, I was never going to be a female Michael Flatley.
I looked up his Twitter feed. His first descriptors are “Christian, father, husband…..former small business owner…..” I read his time line, he is a far right nut from South Carolina. Thinks PBO is becoming a dictator and is “not above the law” Basically, he is scum.
It’s funny Carolyn, whenever I see “Christian” in someone’s Twitter bio I automatically assume they’re a RW nut. True Christians don’t really advertize their faith, they just get on quietly with being, well, Christian.
And that’s what I always think – if you have to say it – it mustn’t be obvious by your words and actions – we are such brillant people to have the same thoughts 🙂
I have Irish ancestors, also too – if they hadn’t been such liars about where they came from and how they got here – we could be cousins as well as twins.
I have my Scottish folks back to 1550, the English 1610 – the Irish – arrived in Australia c. 1850s – the end. I think they swam here – or else they stowed away, or jumped ship – I do know they didn’t arrive on an aeroplane or via land transport – although they may deny this fact.
When you register a child in Australia – most states ask as to date and place of marriage of the parents. One of the Irish forebears had the first couple of children before the marriage, caused utter confusion by rearranging 5 years of the gregorian calendar to resequence events. If we meet in an afterlife we shall discuss this in much detail 🙂
My Mom always say you don’t have to go around boasting that you are a christian, you let your deeds speak for themselves, how you treat people, help the poor, the needy, homeless, sick, doing those things speak louder then doing what the right wing haters do well is yell that they are a christian.
On the 1st of August, Duncan took part in the ´Chick-fil-a appreciation day´, using Twitter to publicise his purchase of large quantities of fried chicken produce in an apparent endorsement of CEO Dan Cathy´s anti-same-sex marriage sentiments.[20]
In January 2012, The New American‘s Freedom Index gave Duncan a perfect 100% score for his votes in 2011. He was just one of three members of congress to receive a perfect score, the other two being Walter B. Jones (R-NC) and Ron Paul (R-Texas).[21]
I know all about that Walter B. Jones (R-NC), the Republican who afew years ago went to Tennessee and spoke on a well known racists white supremacist radio show and when I ask the local news and him why he did that, I got no answer.
Interesting that he doesn’t give a party on all his blurbs – but given the blurbs & who he represents – not to mention the hate dished at the President – you can guess he is a GOP – and why is he following TOD’s best known international man of travel?
Should have added a minor apology to Charles Pierce for that one 🙂 – and I would suggest you both stay away from the rants of the “Christian, husband, father, former small business owner, and Congressman for South Carolina’s Third Congressional District”
Another one who didn’t do so well in small business so he decided to live on government welfare.
😆 I blame you, if it wasn’t for your influence I would have tweeted something like:
“Sincere thanks for the follow @RepJeffDuncan, but seeing as we somewhat disagree on issues, I think it would be best if we parted Twitter company. Love and hugs.”
I had a friend who once asked the customs guy “could he hurry things up because the children were very tired and the trip was exhausting” – they were entering India from Australia if my memory is correct. The story – recounted by her husband (who was trying everything to shut her up) was that the man couldn’t have been more polite – and he searched every last iota of luggage they were carrying – painstakingly slowly – and 2 hours later they exited the airport.
I was not meaning to attack Indian Customs peoples – just my stupid friend who didn’t know when and why it was better not to appear in a rush to get through customs. That story taught me the quickest way to handle international travel is via “yes sir, no sir, ” Took me 3 hours to get through US immigration once – 2 hr 59 minutes in a queue – 1 minute to get the visa/passport stamped – sigh.
A sad but important story on CBS Sunday Morning on how the children of returning service members are so adversely affected by a parent who has been damaged by war, a different person than the one they remembered. It’s not just the vet who has to deal with all kinds of troubling issues and the spouses and the marriages. So many of the children in these families suffer depression and other ills, 1 in 4 consider suicide. And most will have to deal with the affects for a lifetime. And so far, there is no help extended to all these kids so negatively affected. War—–hell.
Hay A. Ginsburg why not call G.W. Bush also, after all he look in Putin eyes, saw his soul. Maybe he can tell us what that soul is up too. And while you are at it bring in good old Cheney too.
“Because Democrats need to recognize that what made 2006, 2008 and 2012 different from other recent elections wasn’t just an ability to keep up financially — it was the volunteers”,,,,,,
Seriously?
Who would have guessed? Good Morning Ms Chips
🙂 Good evening Australia/99ts!
Morning Chips and Danny. Have a great day!
Moooooorning Jackie, mooooorning everyone!
Wow, amazing that you got in first, Chips.
🙂 I don’t know how I do it Jackie!
It really is a mystery!
She sure has that skill Jackie – and just snuck in ahead of you 🙂 Enjoy your day.

aahhhh thanks Chips and Jackiegrumbacher.
Nice bit of trivia.
Funny, as I remembered a contest to name the dog with submissions. I thought Bo was the winner of the contest, maybe the daughters chose the winner.
I totally love the look on that young girl’s face. She must be one of those young people we’ve been told have lost faith in the president. Watching some Irish dancing on CBS Sunday Morning, wondering if chips is a step dancer.
Chips, please inform—–need answer! 🙂
🙂 Dotster – confession: The basic step in Irish dancing is the 1-2-3. I could not even conquer that when I had to do Irish dancing in school, the teacher said I was the first student she ever had who couldn’t manage it. So, in short, I was never going to be a female Michael Flatley.
Sorta sad—-but you have other talents to compensate——-a gourmet baker, for instance. 🙂
Ah, that is very true Dotster!! 😆
Anyone know who this congress critter, who just followed me on twitter, is, a dem or a repub? His TL is full of Obama is a dictator crap.
oopsie
https://twitter.com/RepJeffDuncan
Uggggggggh, he’s following me too!
I looked up his Twitter feed. His first descriptors are “Christian, father, husband…..former small business owner…..” I read his time line, he is a far right nut from South Carolina. Thinks PBO is becoming a dictator and is “not above the law” Basically, he is scum.

We are unmatched, my Aussie twin!!
I have Irish ancestors, also too – if they hadn’t been such liars about where they came from and how they got here – we could be cousins as well as twins.
😆 It still cracks me up that your history-tracing efforts are constantly hindered by tall-tale-telling Irish folk!!
I have my Scottish folks back to 1550, the English 1610 – the Irish – arrived in Australia c. 1850s – the end. I think they swam here – or else they stowed away, or jumped ship – I do know they didn’t arrive on an aeroplane or via land transport – although they may deny this fact.

I am weeping here, and not just because Liverpool scored.

Exactly, the louder they shout the less Christian they are, usually.
Beside they know that President Obama is not a dictator, so isn’t that a lie, meaning a sin coming from that “christian”, father, husband.
True Christians don’t really advertize their faith, they just get on quietly with being, well, Christian.

Thing is – I would be more wary of him or his inept supporters doing that to you
Done. With a message.
😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
I was politer, of course.
#badass = bt

That’s over 140 characters, isn’t it?
yeah, #thedesignatedfallguy = #amk

I just found the greatest Twitter bio ever:
“I’m old and crabby and have a ‘puter. Deal with it. The last item on my bucket list is to bitch-slap John McCain. Loyal Democrat.”
https://twitter.com/DearAuntCrabby
auntcrabby followed. Just want to see that bitch-slap
Ha, me too!
That was politer than amk?? 🙂
I’m thinking his staff probably used you both as the lazy persons way to find out what the President is doing each day.
Or else they just love pics of Bo. 🙂
If that was the reason – I’d follow him back 🙂
The person formerly known as UT did us proud with that post yesterday – made my week.
It was a Bolicious post, ADORE those photos!
I hope you tone it down a little when the nice customs guys inquire as to what is carried within your luggage 🙂 – but very suitable for RWNJs
the bert sert of the kenyan muslin dictator?
I had a friend who once asked the customs guy “could he hurry things up because the children were very tired and the trip was exhausting” – they were entering India from Australia if my memory is correct. yeah, indian customs men used to be pigs. Not anymore. It’s been more than 15 years now I was stopped by them.
I was not meaning to attack Indian Customs peoples – just my stupid friend who didn’t know when and why it was better not to appear in a rush to get through customs. I had the same thing, just blocked him. Thanks!
Now, getting back to our scheduled programming
Aaaaaaaaaaw – is that baby elephant about to drown?
That’s his mom teaching him a lesson.
wimmin/smh
By drowning him? That’s quite a harsh lesson.
Not at all! The baby is snorkeling!! This is a great thread to wake ip to, huge laughter! Mornin y’all
Man United currently beating Liverpool 0-0.
S**t.
oopsie.
Hush.
good possession, but not good in front of the goal post. persie flubbed one just now.
How was Rafael not sent off? If Moyes doesn’t take him off at half time I’m going to be peeved.
Of course, that could be the cue for him to score a hat-trick of piledrivers from the half way line.
PS S**t. Liverpool GK had no right to save that Rooney shot.
He was good at blocking it. And man u flubbed the rebound too.
Double hush.
Now if only any of the man u overpaid stiffs can score like this amazing syrian guy. Watch it.
Saw that last night, an absolute hoot! But sure, Michael Carrick does that in his sleep.
yeah, only in his sleep.
And watching this, he’s in his sleep right now. I hate football.

Nice save by liverpool goalie.
Not sure Ms Chips would agree with you on that
Remember the advertising budget for PPACA was cut by Congress even before it became a law?
oopsie – 2-0
Get over it ruiney.
He is delusional.
Indeed! condo is an expert on Russia like putin is on democracy!

They did such a great job with Iraq and Afghanistan.
GM. It’s still morning, right?
Been out of bed for close to 4 hours, but still feel bleary-eyed.
Trying to decide if I should read all your comments now, or wait until the end of the week recap, when I might be more wide awake. Hmmmm.
