      Hi Dudette,

        Hi Cindy! šŸ˜€

I’m great! Had a magical day hanging out with my nephew yesterday!

My brother is recovering nicely. Doing well with his physical therapy. Doc says he’s on track to get back to work as scheduled! We’re all thrilled for that!

        Everything good with you?

Great News! So glad to hear that you are both doing well.

Yes, just busy. I feel that I have missed a lot. I lurked when I could; trying to keep up with “real news” from TOD. I got away from the TV all together; all the news shows, just to detox from the negativity. It seems that they are already predicting that the Dems are doomed in 2014, and President Obama’s 2nd term is over.

I wish that I could to send a letter to Gibbs. This guy has turned out to be a real thorn in my side. I wonder who is lining his pockets. I just pray that people will get out and vote in November. The lost here in Florida was not good. I am not hearing any strong messaging from the Dems; worrying about this in advance because the repukes are loud as ever; spewing lies and hate.

The president makes the rain look good because he’s fearless. It doesn’t matter if his clothes or hair or face get wet because he doesn’t fuss with that stuff. Even one drop of rain makes my hair explode, puts my shoes at risk and generally makes me miserable. Plus the president is beautiful to begin with. Most lesser mortals need tamed hair, non-dripping make up and dry clothes to feel okay.

Sigh… Just came on line to say I pity the pro-russian people from Crimea who are deciding to quit Ukraine and join a country run by a totalitarian regime, at the exact time where the Ukraine government is headed towards reforms. Those people will have buyers’ remorse within a year or two. Mark my words.

As I said earlier this week, I’m awfully worried that Putin won’t stop there. He knows the West won’t go to war to defend Ukraine, so I think he’s going to invade at least all the eastern part of Ukraine.

The poor Ukrainians will be made sacrificial lambs for the maintaining of the peace in Europe. I pray that President Obama can lead the international community into finding a peaceful solution. But Putin will not relent unless he doesn’t have a choice. He’s ruthless, and delusional.

Urge you to read the full statement:

STATEMENT of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, to all people of Ukraine – Ukrainian citizens of all nationalities

    March 15, 2014

To the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

To the people of Ukraine – Ukrainian citizens of all nationalities

    STATEMENT

of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, all people of Ukraine – citizens of Ukraine of all nationalities

The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people – the supreme representative body elected by the Crimean Tatar people,

    – under conditions of a genuine threat to the safety and freedom of all Crimean Tatars and all Crimean residents regardless of their nationality,

    – fully recognizing the magnitude of the unavoidable aftermath of a direct military intervention and plans for the annexation of the Crimea by foreign state,

    – acknowledging the utmost responsibility to the present and future generations of the Crimean Tatar people,

    – remembering all the losses, humiliations, deprivation and repressions that the Crimean Tatar people sustained since the annexation of the Crimea in 1783, and the loss of their centuries-old statehood,

    – in an effort to prevent the recurrence of genocide of May 18, 1944, when the Crimean Tatar people were forcibly deported from their historical homeland,

“The White House says it rejects Crimea’s referendum on seceding from Ukraine, saying the Sunday vote has been influenced by “threats of violence and intimidation” by Russia.

“This referendum is contrary to Ukraine’s constitution, and the international community will not recognize the results of a poll administered under threats of violence and intimidation from a Russian military intervention that violates international law,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement.

“As the United States and our allies have made clear, military intervention and violation of international law will bring increasing costs for Russia – not only due to measures imposed by the United States and our allies but also as a direct result of Russia’s own destabilizing actions,” he said.

Earlier on Sunday, Secretary of State John Kerry told Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a telephone conversation that the United States would not accept the results of the referendum.”

“After returning from a visit to the U.S., Ukraininan Prime MInister Arseny Yatseniuk told a cabinet meeting that politicians in Crimea who called for the vote would face dire consequences. ā€We will find all of them – if it takes one year, two years – and bring them to justice and try them in Ukrainian and international courts. The ground will burn under their feet,ā€ he said.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Ihor Tenyukh called on Russian forces to withdraw in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine news service and said that Ukrainian forces were prepared to mobilize.

ā€œRussia must immediately withdraw its military troops out of Crimea and the Black Sea Fleet to their places of permanent deployment as it is backed by certain basic agreements between Ukraine and Russia. Ukrainian navy headquarters was and is going to stay in Sevastopol. As for the National Guard, a few days ago, more than 40,000 people have already signed up and volunteered for the military commissariat,ā€ Tenyukh said.”

“The Pentagon is proposing dramatic increases in spending for underwater pods to store drone submarines and a variety of other seaborne drones and surveillance technology, another example of the military’s shift toward the Pacific, newly released budget documents show.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is stepping up its research on several programs, including doubling its planned spending on the Hydra program, an underwater “truck” that would carry unmanned submarines and aerial drones. The DARPA budget released last week shows planned spending for Hydra would rise from $14.9 million in the current fiscal year to $29.9 million next year…..”

Hi Bobfr, thank you for the updates on Ukraine.

Do you think the info that Snowden gave to Putin is one of the reasons why he thinks he can be so belligerent?

    • March 16, 2014 at 3:35 pm

      You’re welcome, Allison.

No. I don’t think what FSB agent Snowden revealed has anything material to do with Putin’s behavior. He saw his ‘Eurasian’ fantasy being threatened and, ironically, everything he’s done the past several weeks has ensured his fantasy will never materialize. He’s isolated Russia and now has other member states of his ‘Federation’ very concerned, as well as lots of his citizens really upset. Will not end well for #TzarVlad. Only issue is how many people are going to die in the process. That’s the history yet to be written ….

Saw a reminder that, on Tuesday, President Obama will award the Medal of Honor to those 24 combat veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, “recently determined to be eligible following a legally mandated review.” That will be heartwarming, and long past time!

In China, Michelle Obama to stay firmly Mom in chief mode. Mrs. Obama trip will be front page news in China. Mrs. Obama will visit with students and schools and take her daughters to see the famous Terracotta Warriors. The fact that Mrs. Obama is bringing her daughters and Mother, Chinese are very big on three generations under one roof. There is no better surrogate for a President over seas then their spouse said Anita McBride who was chief of staff to Laura Bush. McBride said Obama visit with China first Lady Peng Liyuan can send a powerful diplomatic message. Mrs. Obama can just be who she is and it’s a win. She doesn’t have to carry a tough message said Dan Blumenthal. This was a few lines from a article I read about FLOTUS up coming trip to China. I am not good at posting anything due I would post that article. I am looking forward to FLOTUS visit to China.
