Night Owl Chat – A little Debussy

When I think of night time, the music of Claude Debussy always springs to mind. His is the perfect music for a springtime evening. So, a bit of relaxation after a momentous day.

Listening to debussy (while smoking or not smoking pot) is a million times better than listening to Chris Hayes yammer on about nothing!

Lovely music to uplift the soul. Debussy is the backdrop to one of my favourite movies.

The next 24 to 48 to whatever number of hours will define the future of not merely Crimea, Ukraine but humanity. That is not hyperbole. I posted this tweet under the #euromaidan tag in the hope that others would realize the absolute necessity that we join in confronting the tyranny Putin is attempting to impose.

Reflecting on that fact, it was interesting that the music that kept running through my mind was Bruce Springsteen’s ‘We Take Care of Our Own,’ and I realized that, though not the intention of the ‘Boss,’ his refrain ‘wherever this flag is flown’ now must extend to a ‘flag’ representing ALL of humanity.

For certain, given the scale of the challenge our President Obama is now confronting, we also must TAKE CARE OF HIM – in any way we can.

    good night TOD

I you haven’t read it – this is a great piece from Booman – and the comments tell more of the story. As one of the commenters says

“The only cause of poverty is people not having enough money.
To reduce the incidence of poverty you give money to poor people. Period.”

which equates to the Pierce first law of economics – “people got no money, people got no jobs”

Why is it so damn hard for the Paul Ryan’s of the the world to understand a simple, basic fact? They have NEVER been there – they have NO idea of how to live without their trappings of wealth and power.

“What’s really Offensive about Paul Ryans’s remarks”
