@cynthia4877 Hi Cynthia, I'm on this Ukraine crisis. As a school kid I remember drills & hiding under desks to practice if Russia bombed.

Chat on, keep calm, and trust Barack.
Evenin’.
Hola señora.
🙂
Such quick stepping, JO’B! Definitely looking good! 😆
Thanks, darlin’!
Hello Jacqueline!
Evenin’! 🙂
😀
Just checking in and LL started a new thread. Now to go back and read the tweets.
Thanks a trabllion LL, a great way of catching up with developments.
You’re very welcome.
Happiness is: a good thai dinner awaiting me, a good cocktail, the house to myself, and you fine folks to keep me company.
Unhappiness is Danny Nazi saluting again in his sleep, no cheesy puffs, no wine and Chelsea winning 4-0. Other than that, life is good.
Oh, and I’m catching up on the World Indoor Athletics championships. US is ahead with 4 golds, 6 total.
And Ireland are still running.
yeah, one can see that.
{{{{{Chipsticks}}}}} ai yai yai.
Vladey Mae Pout-in. Such an enig-MAAAAAAAAAH.
[crap-wad he is]
Please don’t use my middle name in association with his. . .
Please! It’s so cool to see my little tweety bird with all the other great tweets LL. 😉
Have been busy all day and just now checking in to see what is happening today. Have they found the missing plane yet? Can’t believe they are having only those Republican traitors on Face the Nation.
LL, thanks for the great tweets. So much to understand. Now to go back and read the other posts.
Plane is still missing. US Navy is steaming to the scene.
Thanks, btw, I am having a wonderful cocktail, Malibu rum, coconut milk and orange mango juice. It is heaven.
Mmmmm, muy tropical.
Everyone TOTALLY PSYCHED about the UNM Lobos vs. San Diego State Azcracks game tonight??
WHAT?!?!?!!?!??
Go, Dems! From her profile:
Juliette Kayyem – Democratic candidate for Governor of Massachusetts. Public servant, teacher, writer. 3 Kids. Cool hubbie. We’re ready.
How about helping this video ‘go viral’ ….
BTW, Khodorkovsky was at #euromaidan earlier Saturday …
Think of the children ….
Don’t get me started on mitochondrial DNA ….
https://twitter.com/Our4thEstate/status/442480865562464257
… you will regret it, forever ….
typo corrected ….
Bob, do you have any idea what species of human existed that long ago?
Yes – US!
Jackie, you and every human alive today have two reservoirs of DNA in each of your cells – with the exception of mature red cells (male and female) and sperm (males). Male sperm does not have mitochondria, only ‘germ line’ single copy DNA. Thus, every person on the planet has inherited their mitochondrial DNA, ONLY FROM, their mothers. That simple fact of mammalian biology complete undermines all the creationist bs — and much, much more.
completely not complete
This is fascinating! I love biology and history.
🙂
Bob, I’ve always believed that it’s more realistic to imagine, and depict, the Creator God as female. After all, it’s the female who creates (gives birth to) children. I am elated that “mitochondrial DNA” seems to strongly suggest that it’s the females (mothers) who are the source (creators) of life.
Bobfr, you should know by now that some folks thrive on regret!
🙂
You keep stirring them up, sir. Sterling response! {{{{{bobfr}}}}}
Thank you, MP!!! 🙂
We better go for the $$$$ ….
… before the only option is the ‘button.’
So we have G7, EU, UN, NATO, OSCE and Ukraine all calling for diplomacy and talks between Ukraine and Russia.
Yes, LH. And, we have Secretary Kerry informing his Russian counterpart that if they ‘annex’ Crimea diplomatic efforts STOP.
I found the two paragraphs below fascinating from the article you posted earlier today.
Crimea: Putin vs. Reality
Timothy Snyder
————————————————–
As Putin sat slouched in his chair at his press conference, shifting between clever one-liners and contradictory constructions, he seemed to be struggling to reconcile tactics and ideology. On the one hand, he has been an extremely good tactician, far more nimble and ruthless than almost anyone with whom he deals. He carried off his plan in Crimea with panache. He broke all the rules in an act of violence that should have opened a space for the true world, the world he wants, the glorious Russian gathering of Russian lands and peoples.
Yet dramatic action did not summon the envisioned new reality to life. Ukraine did not reveal itself to be a Russian land unhappily and temporarily ruled by a few fascists whose coup could be undone. It looks instead like a place where the revolutionary mood has been consolidated by a foreign invasion. As the chief rabbi of Ukraine put it a few days ago: “There were many differences of opinion throughout the revolution, but today all that is gone.” He continued: “We’re faced by an outside threat called Russia. It’s brought everyone together.”

Yes, LH. That is an essential article. I had posted a link and excerpt from it in a previous TOD thread. Hope everyone takes the time to read all of it. Thank you.
It was indeed a must read article, Bob! Also, the “Stop Putin” video, by those young students , was absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing all the information and for staying relentless focused on Justice and humanity for the people of Ukraine.
BTW, LH. I’m glad you found the article interesting and thankful you reposted this segment. Do hope anyone viewing TOD will read it, in its entirety.
Apparently, ol’ Larry has blocked me, sweet little innocent me, but this is worth R/Ting over and over – and it’s not the first time I’ve seen it! Love how he added #CPAC2014 to the tweet.
THIS!!!
Mrs. O’Boomer you are a real force to be reckoned with. I love your tweets. 🙂
Oh, COS, thank you so much!
Amen. Amen. And Amen. I pray for him, and all the world leaders as we write and hold each other together. Candles link JO’B?
Wish I had it! I’d join you.
99ts has it. Maybe it’ll turn up.
Well, lookee here! http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO whaddya know?!
Thank you!
Have y’all seen this?
Oh Please who gives a darn what Palin thinks.
Not I. Only to mock her, my dear, do I repeat her damnable words.
What a wonderful eveing I had. Here’s a little tidbit of trivia: Knox County Democratic Women’s Club is the oldest Democratic women’s organization in the country. Tonight was the 85th anniversary celebration. There was a fantastic turnout and good time was had by all. The emcee was Knoxville’s first female major. Fitting, huh? When the group formed its slogan was: Inform, Organize, Register and Vote. Don’t ou love that?!
Forgot to add this: The minister who did the invocation also did the invocation at the 30th celebration. Cool, huh? He is still “quite sharp.” 🙂
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please congratulate him for me if you ever get the opportunity.
“When the group formed its slogan was: Inform, Organize, Register and Vote. Don’t ou love that?!”
TOTALLY!!!!! Thank you for sharing such an important celebration with all of us.
YES WE MUST
congratulations tnmtngirl! it’s reports like this that lift the spirits of all.
For anyone dealing with a rwnj in their family, this is a must-see. Thankfully, my mom and dad haven’t succumbed, but they’re coming at me from other flanks. I’ve long held that Fox News and its in-bred cousins are, as one, the single most destructive force in America. This has to somehow become a well accepted fact, and then dealt with, if this country is ever going to fully function again. /understatement
You’re so right. This FOX disease has to be eradicated if the country has a chance of recovering and surviving. They do nothing but spread hate.
I have said for years that FOX has been the number one contributor to what has happened to our democracy. I haven’t watched this, but I heard Stephanie Miller read the entire thing. I was thinking “spot on” for every point he makes. So very sad.
tragic!
amk, how did you celebrate International Women’s Day?
Just told my nephew to get on the ball and sign up for O’Care before the deadline. He has Kaiser and hates it.
and I was with friends today who loved Kaiser. It may have been medigap but I don’t think they were referring exclusively to medigap. Go figure.
My 27 year old son would love to sign up but making $21,000 this year, he was told he was not eligible for subsidies and can’t afford it without.
TeaBaggers: Write this on the chalkboard in your heads 200 times [I can’t get enough of it – Ha!]:
It was as singularly embarrassing a public address as any allegedly sentient primate ever has delivered. It was a disgrace to politics, to rhetoric, to the English language, and to seventh-grade slam books everywhere. Yet EVERY media source, every pundit, every blog – be they left or right or in between have given her time and space. This is WHY the fool keeps laughing – all the way to the bank. The left should take the way of the President “I don’t think about Sarah Palin” – and stop giving her space for any reason whatsoever.
I should add – there is one circumstance when I think of Palin – every time I see a picture of Gabby Giffords.
Yup.
Yep. But it was still a priceless quote – I didn’t even read the rest of the article, because I “got what I came for”! Ha.
BTW, MightyPamela was looking for the candles link. Would you have it handy?
Sorry jacqueline – I got tied up with Sunday at my house – but I see everyone found the candles. It is one of my favorite places – an online friend from Colorado introduced me to it – about 2004/5
Never mind – MightyPamela posted the link – here it is, if anyone else is interested:

Must Read. Thanks for this, amk. Should be passed around, too.
some interesting reading for women’s day, with good graphics.
