You may want to feature this …

“”He made clear that continued military escalation and provocation in Crimea or elsewhere in Ukraine, along with steps to annex Crimea to Russia would close any available space for diplomacy, and he urged utmost restraint,” the official said.”

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/08/us-ukraine-crisis-usa-idUSBREA270OZ20140308

That’s as clear as it gets.

“The United States has moved to reassure its NATO allies, sending six more F-15 fighter jets this week to NATO’s policing mission over the Baltic states. The jets are on call to respond to any violations of Baltic airspace.”

Bob, if the available space for diplomacy closes, are we talking military intervention?

The situation in Ukraine is frightening and it seems the world is dealing with a madman who’s determined to do something very rash and very bloody. The economic noose has to tighten very, very quickly and that means that Germany has to participate. Thank God we have President Obama in the White House. I shudder to think what stupid cowboy trick a Republican would pull about now. On the other hand, maybe McConnell would be willing to take his gun and confront the Russian army all by himself. That would surely show what a man’ man he is.

Yes I agree Putin is mentally disturbed. However, putting the economic sanctions in place is complicated. They have to get buy in from a lot of companies on many levels. They will also be bumping heads with the KKKoch bros interests, China, and the Middle East. And I too am very very very glad it is President Obama at the helm.

It seems that with Ukraine, one shouldn’t “even take time to blink” – things change so fast!

Still scratching my head about the reports of Russian troops placing land mines very close to the Crimea gas pipeline!!!!

I am a little rusted on my combustion theories but logic would imply that no matter what angle you look at it, this is utter stupidity and outright recklessness !!

    Whether the cause of combustion is accidental or a deliberate explosion is set of, the damage resulting from this would be huge, or even catastrophic – what in the world is wrong with these people taking such actions;

Then there are reports of this floating around – confirmation of accuracy is pending with time

Senate Aide: It’s ‘Impossible’ to Get Obama’s Black Nominees Past Senate Republicans

A Senate source tells The Root that African Americans are held to a double standard in the Senate confirmation process.

    By: Keli Goff
    Posted: March 7 2014 10:09 AM

On Wednesday the U.S. Senate voted 47-52 to reject President Barack Obama’s nomination of former NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund attorney Debo Adegbile to head the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division—with seven Democrats joining Republicans to prevent the president’s pick from moving forward.

Obama called it a “travesty based on wildly unfair character attacks.”

But a senior Democratic Senate staffer was more blunt, calling Adegbile’s treatment part of a “recurring pattern,” and telling The Root that it has become clear that black nominees are being held to a different standard than white nominees.

“What I see here happening,” he said, “is that for African-American nominees, the bar has been raised to such a high level that it’s impossible for any African-American nominee to seemingly clear it with Republicans.” The staffer cited the extraordinarily contentious confirmation proceedings for former Rep. Mel Watt (D-N.C.), now in charge of the Federal Housing Finance Agency; Jeh Johnson as the new secretary of homeland security; and Robert Wilkins, confirmed as a justice on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, but said that Adegbile’s confirmation process stands out as potentially the most egregious case of racial bias.

Watch the Media make a HUGE deal about Rand Paul winning the CPAC straw poll.

How many Times over the years did Ron Paul Win and how many Times did Ron Paul win the GOP presidential nomination?

Fact……those who pay and bring their supporters Win at CPAC. But the Corrupt media would ignore that as they collectively seek for their Next Chris Christie……..Fools Gold……or is it fools errand? I don’t know…..but whatever it is, Rand Paul is it.

    Rand Paul @ 31%

    Rafael Eduado Cruz @ 11%

    Dr. Carlson @ 9%

    Christie @ 8%

    Walker @ 7%

Hmm? Rubio? Jindal? Ryan? Huckabee? Palin? Hmm?

President Obama is wiiling to let them talk about anything other than what he is doing. And thank God the media thinks the CPACer straw poll is gold. Maybe they can make up a story with it.

The media reports on CPAC as if it were the government of the United States – check out TPM – the supposed left leaning web site. The last 8 posts are on CPAC. Given that the media also thinks Cheney is the goto man for foreign policy that is not surprising.

The US media is lower on the scale of human stupidity than the GOP – and that is an almost impossible task.

In your voting – Rubio 6, Jindal 2, Ryan 3, Huckabee 2 & Palin got 2 – the only woman to get more than 1 %

She barely knows who Putin is, except thinking he flies over her house every day, probably … it’s just carnival barking, to put down the President and the scary government, which they think spies on ’em. Just a distraction. And, of course, the only reason she’s invited to these things is that she makes ludicrous hateful bigoted pathetic comments. We, of course, know that.

Logical Thoughts at CPAC? Maybe next year.

    BBC:

Ukraine crisis: US warns Russia not to annex Crimea

The US has warned Russia that any moves to annex Crimea would close the door to diplomacy.

US Secretary of State John Kerry told Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov that Crimea is part of Ukraine and Moscow should avoid military escalation.

Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama has been discussing the deepening crisis with world leaders.

It comes as warning shots were fired as a team of international observers was turned back from entering Crimea.

The pundits…on the many of the blogs…and on cable news…keep pounding at us…about how we are going to lose the Senate….day in and day out…trying to convince ..We the People….that we will lose the Senate…and that there will be gains in the House…

the drumbeat gets louder every day…This is their attempt to demoralize and defeat us without one vote being cast…

We can not allow that to happen…WE Must… not only keep the Senate but make gains in the House….

When I listen to the horror show that the CPAC is…I know what would happen to…. We The People…if they were to gain control of the Senate….there will be attempts to make what is happening on the state level enshrine into law on Federal Level. attempts to gut Dodd Frank…repealing ObamaCare…voting rights …women’s rights…will be at risk…to name a few…

    Yes WE Must…as Bob says….

    we cannot be deterred…

I remember how this same drum beat was heard in 2012….

Fortunately we prevailed….and so we must prevail in 2014

    sometimes people in public life don’t know WHEN to shut up and let things go by without their official input – laugh if you must, agree in private but publicly let some memes go;

    case in point, why would a leader of an organization that wants to have huge influence in Europe and Asia feel compelled to make such comments as below – oh, I know, ODS of course;

BTW, isn’t this the same ian bremmer who was part of shrub’s foreign policy team?

‘ Italy’s culture minister has expressed outrage over an advertisement by a US weapons firm showing Michelangelo’s David holding a rifle.

Dario Franceschini said the image was offensive and violated the law.

A number of Italian media web sites carried the image of the advertisement showing David holding a bolt-action rifle.

The advertisement, from Illinois-based ArmaLite, carries the line “a work of art” in promoting the $3,000 rifle.

Mr Franceschini urged the company to withdraw the advertisement for the AR-50A1.

He said in a tweet: “The image of David, armed, offends and infringes the law. We will take action against the American company so that it immediately withdraws its campaign.” ‘

I read that earlier susanne – the GOP supporters will steal anything – yet fight legal battles worldwide because “I own that”.

The reputation of the US is going down worldwide because of the GOP – the US national media shows CPAC live – invites only GOPers to political talk shows – the view they give the world of the US is utterly disgusting.
