Which one do I think is the greatest album? Why, Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run”, of course.
I’ve listened to a lot of music from the 1970s. Most of it is of excellent quality. But “Born to Run” has a sweep and an ambition which is hard to match. Bruce chronicled the lives of the down and out, the hopeless dreamers, the melancholic and the nostalgic. And he did it with a music which was dynamic, powerful, almost symphonic. He had the music in his head, and it would get out by hook or by crook. And poetry flowed from his pen.
So, a few selections from the album to take you into Sunday morning.
