A very ‘Good Morning’ to you, Desertf! I don’t know, but I have my suspicions. My comment was a preemptive strike. ๐Ÿ˜€

๐Ÿ™‚ Nah…you are loved. They DO tease you about talking to yourself (you’re not the only one) on the last thread….being a pokey little puppy…..you proved that wrong today:) Have a good one today!

          Enjoy your Friday!
BTW, what was that comment about springing forward. Were you serious? Where are people springing forward in this obviously-still-winter weather?

No need to answer that spring forward comment, Df. I checked and it does apply to me. ๐Ÿ™„ Thanks for the reminder. ๐Ÿ˜€

Knoller’s counting so we don’t have to—–Obama fam to spend the weekend on Key Largo.
Recommend that drive from Miami to Key West to anyone who hasn’t done it and wants a spectacular, scenic road trip——water and lush greenery on both sides—–and everyone should experience Key West at least once—-a real kick.

    BAM! http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/07/us-usa-economy-idUSBREA2515Q20140307

U.S. job growth accelerates, weather cuts into hours worked

(Reuters) – U.S. job growth rose more than expected in February, which could ease fears of an abrupt slowdown in economic growth and keep the Federal Reserve on track in reducing its monetary stimulus.

Employers added 175,000 jobs to their payrolls last month after creating 129,000 new positions in December, the Labor Department said on Friday. The unemployment rate, however, rose to 6.7 percent from a five-year low of 6.6 percent.

Economists polled by Reuters had expected nonfarm payrolls to rise 149,000 and the unemployment rate to hold steady at 6.6 percent.

Unseasonably cold and snowy winter weather has disrupted economic activity. Snow and ice covered densely populated areas during the week employers were surveyed for February payrolls.

Here’s some more good news – which is why I always caution folks to not overreact to a single jobs report. Gotta look at trends over periods of several months.

    • 53 jackiegrumbacher
      March 7, 2014 at 8:55 am

Hf, the only ones to ‘overreact’ are Republicans who are like hungry dogs ready to leap on anything they can twist into bad news. Too bad the revisions don’t get as much attention as the original numbers.

      • 54 hopefruit2
        March 7, 2014 at 8:57 am

There are some in the media who do the same (although they should know better). I found myself cautioning folks last month (or the one before) who were not Republicans per se.

Good news about jobs. Just imagine if the racists GOP was working with this administration instead of against it. Instead of voting 50 times to repeal Obamacare, Boehner and his racists had voted 50 times for jobs bills. But the Republicans meant every word when before POTUS took office they had their meetings saying they would not compromise with this President. They meant it when they said they hope he fail. But despite them, this President has this country moving in the right direction. That’s why 2014 is so important.

In case everyone in the world hasn’t noticed, Paul Ryan is a pathological liar. He lies easily, automatically, about everything. Yesterday’s “personal” brown bag lunch story was plagiarized from a book. Get this liar out of my government, far, far away.

      March 7, 2014 at 9:13 am

        March 7, 2014 at 9:21 am

No one has to convince me about Paul Ryan. Remember the charity work he and his family did at the homeless shelter were they went in the kitchen and washed “Clean” dishes, pots and pans. I bet they haven’t been back to one since. They all are a bunch of liars who only concern is the rich people.

Dotster, I honestly think that there’s something wrong with Ryan. He’s so self-deluded that he thinks he can say anything and get away with it. Everything he does is phony and yet he’s given credibility by our incompetent press and told by the people at CPAC that he has dreamy blue eyes? Excuse me? This man is so creepy looking, he gives me chills. Every thing he supports and says is filled with meanness, cruelty and mendacity. He’s the personification of everything nasty and repellent about the GOP and belongs right up there with the repulsive Cruz. The people of Wisconsin have to wake up. They’ve been in a coma since the Koch Brothers bought the state in 2010. Time to throw off the shackles and send the lying creeps packing.

I am reminded that during the 2012 presidential elections Steve Benen produced a weekly post called “Chronicling Mitt’s Mendacity”. It was remarkable to see the volume of lies identified and debunked. There was an endless supply of material and I kept hoping that Steve would get a book deal. Anyway, there could have easily been a weekly post chronicling Lyin’ Ryan’s Mendacity too.

Millennials—-those born after 1980—–are less religious and “significantly more liberal” than previous generations. They favor an activist government and have liberal social views, tend to vote Democratic. Bye bye Repubs.

    • 66 jackiegrumbacher
      March 7, 2014 at 9:25 am

Dotster, all I can say is “it’s about time.” We have been held captive by a generation of elderly idiots who hang on every word uttered by the bimbos and dimwits on FAUX. Those born after 1980 should be hitting their twenties about now, which will soon make them eligible for office and every year more of them become eligible to vote. I hope they literally seize the governing institutions in this country and start turning them into places that help, rather than hurt, people. Time to bring the South into the 21rst century. Time to reclaim common sense and start having the 1 percent bear a fair share of the tax burden. Time to put away the faux gun machismo and get some sensible regulation, time to start acting like decent people who help each other in time of need. This is the generation that will carry on the Obama legacy and, old as I may be, I can’t wait for that to happen.

        March 7, 2014 at 10:38 am

Actually those born 1980 and up are now in their 30’s and the teens during 2008 who were politically active during the Obama years are more Democratic too and are war weary so won’t vote GOP. The rethugs have alienated just about all group and now veterans who normally vote rethug.

Okay is it me or is Rozen is losing her perspective here, and probably needs to take a few weeks vacation. I’m glad the response pushed back on her hyperbolic tweet….

    • 74 japa21
      March 7, 2014 at 9:34 am

That really is an anti-Putin tweet by Rozen. And, at this specific moment in time, Ukraine is dominating a lot of PBO’s presidency, although it will fade. But what she is really saying is that Putin was very short sighted and really underestimated the President.

Which, of course, is what a lot of people do, until they realize their mistake too late.

Part of the problem with twitter is that nuance is difficult to achieve.

      • 75 hopefruit2
        March 7, 2014 at 9:39 am

Thanks for clarifying Japa – I really hope that’s what she meant. Because there’s been a lot of media hyperbole which attempts to make PBO seem weak in comparison to Putin. Anyway, I don’t like when they tweet in ways that could be interpreted either way, and I still don’t think that Ukraine is dominating PBO’s Presidency anymore than other events at other times (Libya, Syria) etc,
