I just read she’s a Republican!

Judging by all that’s happened about Ukraine today, John Kerry and staff must be exhausted. They work hard, like POTUS!
She was hoping for a selfie with him. I wonder whether she’ll get it 🙂
That pie will be his Waterloo. It will break him !

Bow Ties have become so popular…..I hope people are buying them from Mo.!
Senate defeats Obama nominee tied to Mumia case
Democrats said Adegbile only got involved in the Abu-Jamal case in 2006 – 25 years after Faulkner’s murder, and five years after the death penalty was first thrown out. He supervised a team of lawyers and signed briefs arguing against the death penalty as the sentencing fight continued into 2011
***********************
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mumia_Abu-Jamal
The Police…the Phila DA. Seth Williams..Sen Casey…along with the widow of Daniel Faulker organized to block Mr Adelgbile…because he was an attorney for the defense of Mr Jamal….
Seth Williams went so far as to say…that by working of Jamal’s defense…it showed that he was not quality to be in the Justice Department…
*****************************
When Mumia Abu Jamal was arrested..this was a time of heighten animosity between the Blk Community and Police department…many charges of police brutality were levied against the police….
No offense to Alice’s Restaurant-Cafe owner, but that black sweater she’s wearing looks like a rubber doormat.
Signed,
Mean Girl Stuck in Yet Another Snow Storm in the Midwest
Uh, so you don’t like cableknits?
Never wear sweaters – never have. And I do like cable knits, unless they’re made out of recycled rubber doormats. Did I mention it’s snowing here, again?
🙂
The things we focus on other than the four walls or the effing snow……..
Speaking of the four walls, I’m almost done my winter graffiti art project. It’s quite the statement, all about winter in Illinois. There’s an “endless supply of paint” in the winter, turns out. Can’t wait until the family sees it.
Ha. Now ya made me laugh. In the effing snow “shower.” I’ll probably start singing some hysterical tune next.
Ah, where my imagination is going right now………
Mr. 57 just went to pick up the car from the mechanic – another $1,200 bill. I’m so weary of lurching from crisis to crisis.
I’d be happy if I could lurch without boots and shovels………..
Ugh. You’re putting the mechanic’s daughter through college.
Let’s hang in there. We’ll be dancing in the streets soon (if June’s soon)!
You call that dancing Mitt and David. 🙂
I meant Mick, not Mitt. Guess I was thinking of Mitt Romney. Why I don’t know.
Ha! Let’s try the version I remember dancing to, in the ’60s:
“that black sweater she’s wearing looks like a rubber doormat”
😆 You are EVIL, Jacqueline!!!
I’m in another SNOW SHOWER, Chips!!! Have I mentioned that?
Whiny, crying baby,
Me
My Mom used to make the most gorgeous hand knits – all we ever wore when young – my daughter announced that they made her itch – times change 🙂
But I agree – after a second look – this looks nothing like my memory of pure wool sweaters (jumpers as we called them)
My first job paid .88 cents an hour at a Department Store
Mine paid 1.67. When I later got a job that paid 1.85 it was like hitting the jackpot (this was in the 70’s).
That was a rowdy, funny and very supportive crowd.
I win! I made a whopping 50 cents an hour at the DQ, my first job as a teen. I don’t remember a raise even tho I became an expert at making those cute little curleycues atop the cones.
Me too, Dotster! I made 50 cents an hour working at the library when I was a freshman in high school. Welcome money in those days and I loved the library anyway. I still have my income tax info somewhere.
Mine paid 2 cents/pound for picking beans. It made me appreciate the skill and stamina of migrant workers and inspired me to take on my first effort to lobby state legislators on better sanitation for field workers, especially women. Of course, it helped that the State Representative I talked to was my dad.
My first job I made $2 an hr and min wage was $1.98 in 1974. Afterwards I always made more than min wage at least $5 or $6 an hr going through college.
I so love my President!
Everyone of those pies look good. And that was my evil twin who said that FLOTUS.
Great appearance by PBO—-again and always. He can make a case better than anyone and can connect with an audience better than anyone, despite what the kooknuts falsely claim. People love him.
TIP OF THE DAY
“It’s only when you see a mosquito landing on your testicles that you realize that there is always a way to solve problems without using violence.”
Ha!
Tweet that to John McCain, please! Ha!
It only applies for folks that have a set!
Got it!
Oh LOL at you yardarm – so all the women should be demanding WAR! Benghazi!
Whatever floats the boat, eh!
GA, TOD…
“There’s a place where the United States and Russia are still getting along swimmingly: About 250 miles above the surface of the Earth, where three Russians, two Americans and an astronaut from Japan are aboard the international space station. “Everything is nominal right now with our relationship with the Russians,” said NASA administrator Charles Bolden during a teleconference Tuesday.
Tuesday’s teleconference was set up to allow Bolden to discuss the White House’s Fiscal Year 2015 budget request, but he wound up fielding numerous inquiries from reporters about whether the Ukraine crisis has affected NASA’s strategic planning. No, Bolden said repeatedly. He noted that past flare-ups between the U.S. and Russia have not affected operations in space. “We have weathered the storm through lots of contingencies here,” Bolden said. He told a personal story: In 1994 he commanded the first joint U.S.-Russia space shuttle mission. He said that, “because of my training as a Marine,” he wasn’t entirely comfortable at first with the idea of teaming up with the Russians, but then during the planning stages for the mission he got to know Russian cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev and his Russian backup….”
When you don’t pay attention, you miss even the most obvious of things.
I knew POTUS work at Baskin Robbins because FLOTUS mention it several times also.
Remember POTUS and FLOTUS talking about their first kiss, they sat down outside a Baskin Robbins, she was eating chocolate ice cream, he lean over and ask if he could kiss her and she said yes. And that chocolate ice cream was delicious.
Jeff was paying too much attention to the birther /Rev Wright crap….that’s why this is news to him.
hopefruit2, Don’t leave out Benghazi.
Some of us pay attention and not look to use PBO’s words to attack him but learn and listen.
Looks like even the Noble Peace Prize nominations have trolls………..
Pretty much anyone can be nominated for the prize.
I believe being a librarian is a noble, public good….. I think we should start a TOD nominating application for you?
Well, I *do* keep peace amongst the crazies at my library…
Well, I imagine Pooty’s chances of winning now are thoroughly nil. The big hoopla over his Syria gambit is over…..he is now seen for what he is.
I’m going to have to write an essay on the Pope, aren’t I?
Yup.
I think it is live: FLOTUS – https://twitter.com/JeffSaperstone/status/441293228487491584
Patti LaBelle and Aretha…….Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! When?!?!?
I think it’s March 6th and it will be carry live on WH website.
Okay thanks. The link says this:
// For the latest installment of In Performance at the White House, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have invited some of soul music’s greatest living vocalists for what’s being billed as the “Women of Soul” concert.
The show, live streaming Thursday (March 6) on the White House website, will feature Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle and Grammy/Oscar-winning rock singer Melissa Etheridge, as well as The Voice winner Tessane Chin, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monáe and Jill Scott. The president will make his remarks beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The show will also broadcast on PBS April 7, and at a later date via the American Forces Network, a special channel for the U.S. Department of Defense. //

Robin Roberts suppose to show some of her talk with FLOTUS tomorrow on GMA.
Hello everyone! I signed on in time to see most of POTUS’ speech. He was relaxed, confident and made so much sense. I love that man!! I just signed onto twitter and saw the Simpson’s version of the famous Oscar selfie. Here it is, then on to more substantial things!
Some folks are examples for the need for abortion.
thanks for your excellent tweets, nerdy wonka.
amazing the president is able to joke about how the rwnjs would be in favor of increasing the minimum wage if said he was against it. just puts it right out there.
Susanne, we truly live in the world of the absurd when the president of the United States says that and everyone in the room–even college kids–knows that it’s true.
And those kids are the true hope for all our future – despite their own had a repub mayor. At least the mayor has the sense to be excited about PBO’s presence there!
Waiting by the phone for EU outrage over being spied on…… I’m sure it doesn’t only apply to the U.S.?
RT News is NOT broadcast inside Russia…the people NEVER see it. !
Remarks
by the NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen at the Press Conference held following the meeting of the NATO-Russia Council at NATO HQ, Brussels

Unfortunately, there’s a much better chance of getting them voted out than there is of thinking they’ll get over their Obama Derangement Syndrome and actually do work.
Apropos of nothing: my dad was born and raised in New Britain, CT. When my sister and I were young, we visited my grandparents there all the time. So…yay, New Britain! 🙂
Hey, idiot who just posted a vile, racist anti-Obama tirade on one of my posts. I know you’re reading this. Your comment was trashed. Fuck off.
xoxo Me
This should be the successor to PBO!
To what is Elizabeth Warren referring?
The GOP government shutdown back in Oct.
Thanks.
I really like her. I may not agree with everything, but I believe she’s in it for the right reasons.
I would certainly vote for her over HRC.
Oh absolutely yes. However, the rigors of a national could tax her political inexperience. But I sure would like someone who puts the country before her ambition.
I think about all the time spent trying to repeal the ACA.
No, it was the government shutdown. Although Boehner and the RWNJ’s squandered millions on these stupid votes, it wasn’t 24B.
I won’t argue with that.
And maybe subsidies for big companies.
Awesome clip of todays speechifying! i sure love me some PBO. while all the haters are out in full force, our wonderful pres is out there fighting the good fight to give america the raise it (we) so richly deserve. Yes we can! nov 2014!
Bahahahahaha. Catholics? It’s that time again.
Ha! Catholics used to refrain from eating meat on Fridays, and offer it up, kind of like having Lent come to visit every week. (When I was a pre-teen, I once had a hot dog in my mouth on a Friday, before I remembered the day of the week, and actually spit it out, the little goodie-goodie Catholic school girl I was. Pretty sure that made my hit parade of sins I confessed to the priest after that, back in the day when you actually had to make up something because yer presentable list was so short the priest would think you were lyin’.)
When the Church relaxed that rule, I saw a great cartoon about hell. One devil was saying to the other devil in hell, “What are we going to do with all these Catholics who ate meat on Friday?”
^^^This might only appeal as humorous to old-timey Catholics! #DidThatStopMeIThinkNot
Love this. One of hubby’s (raised, school Catholic) favorite stories is how he and his brother and some buddies who were not Catholic went for a hike one beautiful warm Friday. They hiked all the way up our little mountain and practically into the backyard of a schoolmate whose father was grilling steaks for dinner. They were all invited to stay and partake. Hubby says he and his brother wrestled with their conscience but it did not win … they ate the meat!
Love all those stories, myself! Hey, at least we tried! He would have been forgiven, anyway, for “sustenance” purposes. 🙂
I’ve always said that Catholic school (way back when I went, K-12) was where I developed my sense of humor. You had to have a sense of humor! I’d bet your husband agrees, no matter what the decade was when he attended.
This must be true of millions of us, JO’B! We had to make stuff up (lie) to be unworthy enough to go to confession, then placate the guilt of lying all week, while waiting for the next confession?! How can that possibly be emotionally healthy for any kid?? It’s like they got us either way, and no matter what we did or didn’t do, we were guilty little sinners!! Hope LL includes this derangement in his next essay on The RCC!
Nah – I think it was just like having a “tough parent” – you didn’t want to cross ’em!
did we live close together in “those days”; i remember the hot dog (we were at the big summer exhibition) had to spit it out too!!!!!
We are sisters, that’s for sure! 🙂
I think lunch will be a charcuterie plate. Because elitist.
I didn’t passed the elitist test cause I had to go look “charcuterie plate” up.
Is this really what you’re eating for lunch? http://www.bonappetit.com/columns/the-foodist/article/america-s-best-charcuterie 😉
Well, not that fancy, but good cheese and good cured meat, yes.
Ahhh okay.
I kind of knew, but was not sure, so I had to look it up too!
The Selfie – Mayor Erin Stewart (R)…
LOL – LAWD… 🙂
hahahahahahahahahaaha
Hey, that could work for me!

Why did 7 Senate Dems vote against Debo Adegbile ?
I’m asking the same question….
Donna did you read Coons’ pathetic explanation? I almost don’t want to post it here – but I can find it if you want.
I googled and found it. Pathetic is right!
Please see my comments up tread…
it about the case of Mumia Abu Jamal….
It’s because they want a white guy in charge of civil rights – someone who appreciates all that law Enforcement does to help minorities
Seems the President needs 100 dems in the senate to get close to 50 votes for anything – they really are focusing on their re-election and the idiots that they represent – and who cares about the blah President!
As has been said – I am p. o. and it’s not due to the weather. Cannot believe that some democrats are their own worst enemies
27 Democrats voted with the Republicans to delay the mandate…….
Once again Gabby’s replacement Barber votes with Republicans.
1 Republican….voted NO.. Paul Broun from Georgia.
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2014/roll097.xml
And nothing any democrat does will stop the wingnuts voting republican – they are fools
