Congrats LL. Thanks to you NW and Ms. Chips for keeping us informed about Ukraine.
I’ve been reading and catching up as much as possible today.
It’s very unfortunate that McCain and Graham are acting as traitors by calling President Obama weak in front of the whole world. I think they should be run out of office.
Vlad’s not in the club anymore. He haz a sad (or at least he will in the morning).
Of course, you can’t tell when you look at him, because of those shark eyes of his, but he’s really crying inside.
He is a typical narrcisist who believes that he really is all that. Any grown man who is a leader of a nation who poses shirt-less on horses and with Bengal Tigers to show that he is a tough guy is only showing that he is a bully. He has the typical short man syndrome. I’ll bet it really chaffs his butt that PBO is much taller and so much more naturally elegant, and so respected.
He spends too much time reading/watching US RW /Libertarian media – as Japa indicated…Romney made that same mistake in 2012. Trust these fools at your own risk.
I’ve only seen 4 of the movies nominated for best picture this year.
If you have not seen the Dallas Buyers Club I highly recommend it. I had dreams about that movie after seeing it. It was one of those movies that stayed with me for a couple days after seeing it.
12 Years the slave was riveting and moved me to tears.
One of the few years I actually saw a few of them. I saw “12 Years A Slave”, “Nebraska”, and “The Wolf of Wall Street”. All three were intense and worthy of the nominations for sure. I would love to see Bruce Dern win.
I sheepishly admit that the only movie I’ve seen in the past year that was up for an Oscar tonight is the animated children’s film ‘FROZEN’ which I saw with family during Thanksgiving break. The others I intend to watch privately…..when they are released on DVD.
Donna I’m going to try to see each of those movies on your recommendation! 🙂 🙂 I saw “The Butler” after you had reviewed it here on TOD, and I intend to purchase the DVD. It was simply A-mazing.
I think you will enjoy each of these. I still want to see Nebraska and American Hustle. I’m not interested in Wolf of Wall street. There have been a number of those movies made IMO. If you’ve seen one you’ve see them all.
Thank you Vicki. I’d have no way of knowing since I’ve never watched the show. Do check videos when someone I respect indicates something special to view.
By “reversing itself” – I mean it is going back up! It was -50 points (1%) 2 hours ago – which has to be related to Russia/Ukraine – then it started back upwards – is now only -20 for the day – so +30 points (0.5%) in the past 2 hours??
Yeah, I just meant the initial freefall. I wouldn’t be surprised if they all open that way and then do a fair amount of recovery. Other than Russian stock…
Russia is going to get hit economically. It’s the only real way to deal with this situation. Using force like the republicans want to do is ridiculous and reminds me why I am so glad President Obama won.
“That brings us to the struggles of today. The people of the Maidan and that of those from around the world, who support her, will not be put down easily. What the world needs to understand is that the Ukrainian spirit is strong. The desire to escape the heavy hand of Russia is deep. The yearning for Western freedoms is powerful. The majority of Ukrainians are tired of living under the control of a minority segment of the population which is corrupt ethnic Russians who would be very happy to reinstate the Soviet rule over Ukraine once again.
Personally, I think that this time, the Ukrainian spirit will not give up until they have achieved independence. Unfortunately, the cost of freedom is usually very high.”
So happy for Lupita! She was heartbreaking in 12 Years a Slave as was Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club. Both so deserving. Loved Darlene Love’s improptu song. 20 Feet From Stardom is a fabulous documentary…a must see. Damn I’ve seen more movies this year than I thought.
Dear Vlad: Fuck off.
Co-sign!
Now, that would have been the perfect statement. Short and to the point!
I’m tired of worrying about that runt.
I 2nd that motion …. and do hope #TzarVlado’s buddies are ready to ice him …
#TrustBarack …. to make you really poor if you mess with him (and, that’s when he’s being nice) ….
Congrats LL. Thanks to you NW and Ms. Chips for keeping us informed about Ukraine.

Pharrell just killed it. He had everyone on their feet. Fantastic performance.
I have not been watching, but I will now.
This is awesome! #WIN
oh that is wonderful !
Hey Vladey-Mae Poutin, everyone’s on to your schtick. And PUHLEEEEASE keep your shirt on!!
That last part — yes, puleeez!
G-7!!! Didn’t Vlado Know This Was Coming?
Vlad’s not in the club anymore. He haz a sad (or at least he will in the morning).
Of course, you can’t tell when you look at him, because of those shark eyes of his, but he’s really crying inside.
It’s hard for me to believe he didn’t expect that his behavior would lead to his ouster.

Yummy! (Ok, I’m a pig. I TAKE IT BACK!)
Gasp! Right before Channing Tatum came to the mike, there was a quick shot of The Cumberbatch!!! I think he was glowing!

12 Years the slave was riveting and moved me to tears.
Gravity kept me on edge from beginning to end.
Captain Phillips had great acting

Kim Novak — OMG!!!! Legend!!!
Can you believe she’s 81 years old!!!
Well, he’s a big hit with #euromaidan as you can well imagine …

So fun. The full video is great.
Does anyone know if a member of our First family will appear in a cameo tonight? (Thinking of FLOTUS last year.)
Heh…Do you want Rush Limbaugh to get a heart attack? LOL!
For those of you watching, do you agree re: Ellen … it would not surprise me if she’s doing a stellar job …
Ellen is doing great. I don’t know about best—-maybe. I remember worst was Jon Stewart, but best?
Thank you Vicki. I’d have no way of knowing since I’ve never watched the show. Do check videos when someone I respect indicates something special to view.
Think Ellen is doing super duper.
Pharrell’s freaking awesome performance.

Will Snowdenski mount a “response” to Putin’s aggression as he did to PBO’s NSA speech?
of course not. Somehow he’ll find ways to blame President Obama and the democrats.
I doubt Snowden will be allowed to open his mouth – GG has few tweets but all seem to be pro Russia
Science SHADE. 😆
ROTFL…
I LOVE this man! He is going to educate the country in science! He is determined…..he is shocked by our abysmal scientific ignorance. GO Dr. Tyson!!
I noticed the list of the G 7 countries is written in alphabetical order 🙂
So did I, Carolyn. I also noticed that in a shared tweet (in the previous thread, I think), the U.S. was suddenly ‘first’. 😉
I love this man! 😀
Well, this is interesting;

what?
Viewed your time line with this one…..well done.
The sad thing, we followed each other. Quickly unfollowed him.
Ugh, same here, we followed each other – I ♥ that block button.
I’ll play a bit more, then block.
Because you’ve inspired me with War Room Tom. And I have booze.
😆
Aaaaaaaaaaaand I’m done.
Awww….
That is sooo cool!!!!
Ukrainian government isn’t tolerating Crimean parliament actions …
.. and, I agree, should be quite a show …
Our S.E. was in freefall for 2 hours – and has been reversing itself in the past 2 hours – I have no idea why.
Global economy and all that. The Nekkei is way down. Tanking 2% now.
By “reversing itself” – I mean it is going back up! It was -50 points (1%) 2 hours ago – which has to be related to Russia/Ukraine – then it started back upwards – is now only -20 for the day – so +30 points (0.5%) in the past 2 hours??

Hope so – markets love panic – just like the GOP – then they discover – nothing.
Ellen crashed Twitter I think.
If you’re watching the Oscars you’ll understand this tweet 😉
It’s actually a pretty awesome photo.
Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes !!!!!!
Lupita!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay Lupita!!!!!!!
Lupitaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
She is also eloquent, on top of this incredible beauty.
Um, I think Twitter broke.
Or I’m in twitter jail. Not sure.
Lupita’s win broke twiiter
It’s been crashing since the Oscar group selfie.
I’m glad Lupita was able to say her whole Thank You. I tear’d up.
Lupita’s speech brought me to tears. She is so wise and so aware to be so young.
LUPITA!!! ♥
Russia is going to get hit economically. It’s the only real way to deal with this situation. Using force like the republicans want to do is ridiculous and reminds me why I am so glad President Obama won.
WOW…Lupita broke Twitter with her acceptance speech.
“No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid.”
Lupita Nyong’o 03/02/2014
Lupita is beautiful inside and out. Well done!
Not watching…….need rest and sleep.
Will check out everything here later.
Apparently Twitter is not up to the combo of Lupita and Ukraine …
From Lupita’s speech:
Ellen and the Pizza …who’s gonna tip the delivery guy….Harvey? No pressure ROFLMAO!
She’s a hoot!
Ellen’s selfie tweet has over 500K retweets so far.
Donna, I think that selfie hitting twitter as Lupita was being announced as winner truly melted Twitter’s servers 🙂
Indeed it did Bob 😆
Really like his tweets …
I’m not into the Oscars. But I’m glad Lupita Nyongo won best supporting actress.
Boundless Joy!
Little Q shows her support too 🙂
She gave a beautiful acceptance speech.
“That brings us to the struggles of today. The people of the Maidan and that of those from around the world, who support her, will not be put down easily. CongratsLupita is now the #1 trend on Twitter. Any questions? 🙂
Love me some PINK! Beautiful tribute to The Wizard of Oz!
She tore it up!
Pink did a lovely job, but Pattie LaBelle blows that song out of this world!

Ellen is such a crack-up!
